Re: Maryland rut ?????? same here, i also plan on hitting the travel routes they take in the morning and late afternoon, I also plan on setting up in the area where theres fresh rubs at and hope for the best ..............

I'm pretty sure that the first rut is gone and over with. But is there a 2nd rut? Is there a place online that can shed some insight on this topic? I have seen some fresh rubs and scrapes in areas where there hasnt been any before.......

Re: How to handle a trespasser? if it is still there, i would call your local dnr office, the land owner should also call and have them remove the stand so the guy doesnt accuse you of stealing his stuff.......

I had a similaer situation happen, a hound was chasing something in the woods near me, he eventually found and sat by me panting.... i pet him on his head and told him to get ....... he ran off in the direction of his home. I swung by the local dnr office and informed them but they said there's nothing that they could do. the dog did have tags, but i didnt look at em, next time i'll swing by the houses near that area, i very seriuosly doubt that the dog would attack a human, just dont want some slob shooting the dog, it's too cute of a hound........

Re: Cold front I plan on sitting as long as i can, but if it starts to get too cold, i was thinking of doing some stalking. with the wind howling i should be able to sneak around even if the leaves are crunchy. i Just hope its not too windy... definately going to be a layer clothes day.

This saturday is the final day of gun season here. I'm heading out friday and a cold front that is suppose to bring snow showers to the mountains tonight will bring strong winds with it. would it make sense to hit the slopes with less wind and more sun ? Gonna get into the low teens tonight........

Our season is over the end of january ,,,, Its very hard for me to sit here at work now that it is finally cold, i'm out 2-3 x's a week and will never get burned out from hunting too much. Wife has learned not to be picky when thngs need to be done when it gets cold out..... Honey doo chores get done on sundays

Re: deer processing I would agree,,, doesnt sound right.... I had that happen to me this year already and i plan on buying a grinder then a slicer early next year after xmas.... I was going to say something to the butcher, but theres only 1 in my area.........

Re: cleaning and hanging deer I usually hose mine out to get the leaves and blood clots out of it after dragging it. Then i take it to the butcher.........
