  1. Re: Elizabeth Edwards diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Oh geez, I'm just thinking back to when Clinton had his bypass, most of the responses on here were, well, I hope he recovers, but the attitudes were like ya'll could give a crap if he lived or died.
  2. Re: ? for slugshooter Just because he said that they are going to fight for every vote to be counted doesn't mean there is going to be a protracted legal battle, if there were, they would have said so. What Edwards was saying is that they are going to make sure every vote is counted because every American's vote should be counted. How would you feel if your ballot was sitting in a box somewhere cause they didn't feel like counting it, or because there was a glitch in some system somewhere, whenever I vote and put my card in the machine, I wonder if it is actually being counted, I would hate to find out it wasn't.
  3. Re: Thanks all you guys [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] He never said who he voted for, what if he voted for the other guy. Would you have still responded the same way had he voted for Kerry. [/ QUOTE ] Nor did I ask! My reply to Horst stands, regardless of political affiliation. My reply was nonpartisan. Thanks for your ignorant response! [/ QUOTE ] And thank you for your's.
  4. If you've been following the news then you know that PLO leader Yasser Arafat is in serious condition. It's hard to sift through various reports, some say he is in a coma, some say he is dead, most of the death reports are coming from Israeli media(wishful thinking probably) and I have heard that his condition is not very serious. The last I heard is that a top PLO official called from his bedside to a media outlet that he is in grave condition. If he dies, which apparently it doesn't seem far off, how do you think this will affect the peace process in Israel and what do you think reactions will be. I think that if he dies, Israel will try to capitalize and try to start a full scale war over there and try to remove Palestinians from occupying certain areas, it seems we might be committed to another area if he dies and the peace process gets derailed in Israel.
  5. Re: Kerry quote...reaction? [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] As far as what Kerry said, I think he realizes that Americans didn't want another deal like 4 years ago, it's best just to move on, he is still a Senator for at least 4 more years, he has earned my respect, anybody who will take the type of criticism and put under the microscope for so long to run for President is a man to me. [/ QUOTE ] How about Bush standing up to all the garbage that was thrown at him??? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah.....him too.
  6. Announced today that John Edwards wife was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday and found out before the concession speech. She found a lump last week and went to the doctor and received a phone call yesterday that confirmed the cancer, after the speech the Edwards and Kerry family went to a Boston hospital to meet with doctors. I hope that some of you Christian folk on here will pass along prayers and not let stupid partisan childishness get in the way.
  7. Re: ? for slugshooter [ QUOTE ] The Dummycrats failed in electing Kerry to run for pres. Kerry and Edwards are losers and this just proves it!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] How old are you. I probably don't want to know cause I will probably be disappointed if these statements came from an adult. Another reason Edwards's speech might have been a little rough is he and his wife found out before the concession speech that his wife has breast cancer and after the speech they and the Kerry family went to the hospital.
  8. Re: Kerry quote...reaction? I was surprised to see Daschle ousted, really surprised. As far as what Kerry said, I think he realizes that Americans didn't want another deal like 4 years ago, it's best just to move on, he is still a Senator for at least 4 more years, he has earned my respect, anybody who will take the type of criticism and put under the microscope for so long to run for President is a man to me.
  9. Re: ? for slugshooter I think it was set up that way. Edwards was always seen as the spark in the campaign, I mean, remember before he chose Edwards people complained that Kerry was kind of boring. I think both are excellent speakers but I think it was set up for Kerry to go out more gracefully, maybe Edwards was PO'd that Bush won his home county of Moore(people don't know loyalty around here) I am not sure what Edwards is gonna do for now, I mean, he basically had to give up his Senate seat to run for President, Richard Burr defeated Erskine Bowles, so either he is gonna wait for Doles seat to open or maybe wait 4 years and run for Governor. Kerry has 4 years left in the Senate. When I was watching the concession speech yesterday, before Kerry had entered the hall, the commentator was saying how difficult it was to run for President as a member of the Senate, the last sitting Senator to run for President and win was Kennedy. Honestly, I think Kerry might try to run again in 2008, I would rather have him then Hillary and really, I was discussing this yesterday with a fellow Kerry supporter, but out of all the candidates last year, Kerry was the only one who could have mounted a serious challenge. I have already started looking 4 years from now, and unless Kerry rund again, I have no other ideas for the Democrats, I'm not even sure of who the Republicans would run, John McCain possibly.
  10. Re: Kerry is a real man. I don't think you were really getting at anything there. Conceding defeat in a race that is unwinnable is A LOT different than responding to a terrorist attack. After more than a year of campaigning, criss crossing the country and basically breathing this campagin night and day, there is no point in dragging out the inevitable, even if all the provisional ballots were accepted they would all have to go for Kerry, I mean, I know the Red Sox broke the curse this year and all, but some things just don't happen.
  11. Re: Thanks all you guys [ QUOTE ] Thank you for voting in an intelligent and informed manner. I'm glad to hear that the dialog here compelled you to do so and wish more people would do the same. [/ QUOTE ] He never said who he voted for, what if he voted for the other guy. Would you have still responded the same way had he voted for Kerry.

    ALL READ

Re: ALL READ That Remington 1100 would never have made the list unless it had a fixed magazine capacity of 8 rounds, a telescoping or folding scope and one more of a number of things on the list. But the NRA won't tell you that, just like they won't tell you Bush supported the repassage of the AWB, or they won't tell you that every living President before Clinton supported it.

  14. Re: Who To Believe? They were all going over different scenarios, they have to have something to talk about over the endless hours of coverage. Well, if Kerry wins here , here and here and Bush wins here, here and here then this is what will happen, and vice versa. It's good to look at different scenarios, even though every state went basically the same as it did in 2000, you just never know.
  15. Re: Exit Polls I don't think it's either one, I think it's a combination of only polling a certain amount of people and the fact that a lot of people might not have been honest when polled.
  16. Re: Bush Wins! [ QUOTE ] I just sent a congratulatory message to the President. I also reminded him that as his neighbor, I'm always here if he needs help. [/ QUOTE ] Expect a visit from the US Secret Service now.
  17. Re: Oh Well.... [ QUOTE ] my point is, why doesn't Kerry be the man that he says that he is and stand up and tell the world that he got his tale kicked............oh, I forgot, he doesn't run his house, his wife with all the money does............remember, she is the only woman in America that has ever held a real job! [/ QUOTE ] If you had invested the vast majority of your time in the last year, and tens of millions of dollars into this campaign, would you just up and concede, NO, you would want every vote counted. If Bush were in this situation, would you tell him to suck it up and concede, NO, you would want him to fight for every vote. But, I am a realist, and there is no way that Kerry will win Ohio, he would have to win every provisional ballot cast and thats if all of them were accepted.
  18. Re: Who To Believe? Remember, most of what came out last night was each networks projected finishing order. I mean, 10 seconds after California closed they predicted Kerry. I mean, no surprise there, thats why I hate exit polls and all this other junk they come up with. Fox News was the first to declare Bush the winner(no surprise there either) while CNN was being more cautious in their analysis of Ohio, Fox News went ahead and called it.
  19. It's 2 am, Iowa is in a delay cause of broken counting machines. Ohio's too close to call and apparently it'll be next week before they count everything. Starting to look like another 2000. Edwards in 2008.
  20. Re: whats your opinion [ QUOTE ] 7:31 PM CST. Bush has 102 vs Kerry's 77 electoral votes. Still early but Bush is pulling states he wasn't expected to. Go W. [/ QUOTE ] Everytime the reports come on they say it is playing out exactly like they predicted, there is virtually no change since 2000, the real race is between 5 states it seems anyway, PA,OH,FL,MI,WI.
  21. Re: Bin Ladin video [ QUOTE ] Slug- Again, the Bible talks about the Jews (God's chosen people) getting away from him, which they are right now. I am telling you, our situations are NO COINCIDENCE (I really need to check the spelling on that word. ) [/ QUOTE ] Thats not what I was getting at and I think you know it. The Jews have never believed that Jesus was the Messiah, Son of God, Chosen One, Savior or whatever. What I am trying to figure out is why whenever I happen to stop on TBN or some other religious program, why are these Christian organizations working so hard to return Jews to their homeland when the Jews don't believe in Christ. It's ironic and makes no sense, unless the Christian organizations believe that by doing this they can somehow speed up the rapture or something.
  22. for you to vote today. Took me 45 minutes and we have one of the smallest voting districts in the county.
  23. Re: whats your opinion I heard someone on the news say that the record number of voters was a good sign for Kerry. Long line where I voted, and there's only 3000 registered voters for my precinct.
  24. Re: Who has NEVER taken a deer before? I've taken 3 deer in 3 and a half years of hunting deer, all with a shotgun, never with a bow, rifle or muzzleloader, hopefully I'll take one with the ML this year.
  25. Re: Bin Ladin video On another note, and I don't want to start something here, but, if you know anything about the Jewish religion, well, they don't believe in Jesus Christ, so why, with their unbelief, are Christians so bent out of shape and adamant about helping the Jewish people return to their homeland. I realize that the bible says that the Jews will return to their homeland in the last days, it just seems ironic to me that Christian organizations would help them with this since Jews don't believe in Jesus. My cousin just moved there, he is a Jewish convert and studied over there at Hebrew University for many years. That is where he wants to be and is happier there, I may not understand it, but I support his decision.
