  1. Re: Team Realtree E-Z Hangers? Guess I kinda walked into that one.
  2. Re: Got my GPS today. Pretty happy with it so far, was fumbling with it a little today on my way to physical therapy, tracked my trip to and back. It told me how far I had to go to get home and how long it should take me based on my speed and all. I am sure there are plenty of features that I have yet to read about.
  3. Re: This is why Junior got fined. Complaint filed. Getting back on the subject. Regardless of what 5 point says, I don't feel that this group is a bunch of tree huggers, he's got his activist groups mixed up ,this group is more along the lines of the Christian Coalition. Anyhoo, as far as certain TV shows go, South Park etc. After a certain time of night, either 10 pm or 11 pm , basic cable can show anything they want. ER a couple years ago had the S word and even showed a bare breast last year. South Park in the same thing, it's Cable TV yes, but the time the program is on dictates the content. How many 5 year olds are watching South Park at 11 PM, not many, and if there are, their parents need to be slapped.
  4. Re: The Faith of John Kerry But in his going to church, is he forcing a specific religion on people, No, he is excercising his right to attend a church of his choice. I haven't heard him endorse any specific religion.
  5. Re: Team Realtree E-Z Hangers? I had one, left it in a tree and can't go back to get it. Need to get another one. Never tried in a hardwood, actually, I tried it with a Gorilla and never got it in, I fould with a Pine the easiest thing was to jam it in the bark like you are stabbing someone in the eye, just think of someone you hate and that should make it easier.
  6. Well, finally broke down and got a GPS, just the basic eTrex , as much as I would like to have one with basemaps and all the bells and whistles, I don't really need it for much else than getting in and out of the woods, at least in the morning, daylight I can get my way out no problem, but in the AM I usually end up trapsing around a bit to get my bearings. Plus, now I can scout out other locations and save them if I just plan on hunting them every so often.
  7. Re: Deer 2 Me 0 Well, the first time I went out, last monday in the AM, I saw a group of about 5 deer by the road near the entrance to the game lands, got really pumped and all, didn't see nothing all day, and I mean all day, was there sunrise to almost sunset. Yesterday, didn't see a deer until I was almost home, crossed the county line and saw the rear end of a deer shooting into the woods getting away from the road, which I guess is better than it coming across the road. Eventually they will head my way. It was the same thing last year, it seems like the area I hunt is devoid of deer during the day, they must come out at night there, but the first week and a half of November last year me and some buddies took 3 deer on consecutive trips. The more you hunt, the more your odds increase. Thats how I look at it.
  8. The key here is " 16 feet " off the ground. Deer do not naturally look up unless they have a reason to, as long as you are quiet they'll never look up, camo works best for the ground, and those times when the Deer feels the need to look up there for some reason.
  9. Re: what a nerve wrecking game Watched the end of both of them last night. Might have to watch a little more. I hardly follow baseball anymore cause the Braves have let me down more than once. I still like to go to games though. Favorite park I've been to is Wrigley Field. You can smell the history there, or maybe it was them hotdogs, my mind was clouded.
  10. You must have missed the last " Realtree Roadtrips " episode when Mike was in Illinois. A 2 inch spike took a 7 inch spike to task and ran the bigger one off. Mike said something to the affect that size didn't really matter.
  11. Re: Why I can\'t stand Nemechek. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [quote I'm betting it was Dale Earnhardt Sr. [/ QUOTE ] Don't get on me and say it was a cheap shot and low blow when you weren't specific enough in your post. [/ QUOTE ] The fact of the matter is no matter who it was why bring up the dead. Out of repsect if the driver in question was deceased I would never had mention the situation. Thats just common sense. FYI: The driver in question is still my boy's favorite and I aint got a problem with it. [/ QUOTE ] OK OK, can't bring up negative stuff about the dead anymore. I have changed my answer to Tony Stewart. Final answer. On another story about Nemechek, told to me by a co-worker. He said he was at Hickory when Joe won the Busch championship and a little boy asked for an autograph. Joe turned around and yelled at the kid and told him he didn't have time for that crap. My coworker said that he proceeded to tell Nemechek off( coworker, not little kid) , it seems Nemechek has rubbed more race fans than myself the wrong way.
  12. TV watchdog group files complaint with FCC over Junior's language From Press Release October 18, 2004 05:40 PM EDT (21:40 GMT) LOS ANGELES -- The Parents Television Council, the nation's most influential advocacy organization protecting children against sex, violence and profanity in entertainment, filed an indecency complaint last Thursday with the Federal Communications Commission against the NBC network for airing Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s expletive after the Sunday, October 3 NASCAR race. The PTC and its nearly one million members nationwide have asked the FCC to levy a Notice of Apparent Liability against each NBC affiliate that aired the program. The program that contained the indecent material was broadcast live around 5 p.m. ET and was seen in homes across the country on NBC network affiliates. "NBC knows that NASCAR has a huge family audience. NBC and its affiliates should be fined for airing the S-word at a time when millions of children were likely to be in the viewing audience," said L. Brent Bozell, president of the PTC. "After the fact, NBC announced they would be putting all future NASCAR race coverage on a 5-second tape delay. But frankly, NBC should have taken this action long before the Earnhardt incident, especially given NBC's past problems with indecent language during live broadcasts, including Bono's utterance of the F-word during the 2003 Golden Globe awards. "This is precisely why Congress needs to increase indecency fines. Television networks need to get serious about halting the flow of indecent material over the broadcast airwaves, but that won't happen when the financial penalties can be absorbed as a reasonable cost of doing business. "We are demanding that the FCC impose the maximum fine allowable under the law against every NBC affiliate that aired this offense. We further demand that the FCC consider license revocation as a real option given the repetitive nature of these offenses," said Bozell.
  13. Re: Gay marriage... [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Oh what the heck, I havent been on the minority side in awhile.first Im not in favor of gay marriage. But at the begining of the post the question was "legal" reasons not to allow gay marriage, not "religous" reasons.Nobodies actually given a legal reason why.Ive seen religous reasons, Ive seen personal feelings on why not, and I believe I even seen a self proclaimed homophobic in here [/ QUOTE ] The point is Horst, that "law" has it's origins from God. When we exchange the truth for a lie, we get bad law.Without Gods authority in law, there would be chaos. [/ QUOTE ] Hammurabi's code predates the " 10 Commandments "
  14. Re: Benelli nova? He might already have it installed in the gun, ask him about it.
  15. Re: Benelli nova? [ QUOTE ] i think it is a good deal he told me i could have it for $275. what is a good recoil reducer? i have never used one before. the gun is a 12 ga but it is not camo its the black stock. is a recoil reducer the same thing as a recoil pad? thanks for the info [/ QUOTE ] The recoil reducer is a mercury filled tubed that slides into a bracket that you have to buy. You can get them through Bass Pro or check your local gun store. Bass Pro had the best price I had seen but then you have to pay shipping. The Bracket is 20 bucks and the reducer is 50 bucks with Bass Pro. It really helps, trust me, when I first started shooting with it,it didn't really feel much different, until that night when my shoulder didn't hurt. It does add almost a pound of weight to the gun, but it balances out when aiming.
  16. Re: Gay marriage... Another item of note, since everyone thinks homosexuals are deviant pedophiles. 90% of convicted pedophiles are straight white males.
  17. Re: Benelli nova? I have a Nova 12 ga in Advantage Timber. I love it, I used to have an 870 also, never had any problems with it either. I just liked the look of the Nova, plus the Camo, the price is good, since you're getting it used it'll be a little cheaper hopefully. One major suggestion, if you are planning on doing a lot of shooting with it, especially Duck loads, spend the money for the recoil reducer, it really helps. Before Dove season I took it to the skeet range without the reducer, shot 50 rounds and a few hours later my shoulder felt like it was going to explode. Opening day of Dove season I shot close to 100 rounds, went back out couple of days later and then a couple of days after that, so all total I probably shot 150 or so rounds, and with the recoil reducer in the gun, my shoulder didn't hurt one bit. Best 80 bucks I've ever spent.
  18. Re: Primo\'s Bleat Can Never had any luck with the bleat can, I have the smaller one. I usually use a Lohman all in one call, the only thing is it is really loud, even when I try to blow a little softer. Last year my buddies said they could hear me a good distance away with it.
  19. Re: My buddy had a reaaaaaal bad day today!! Jerks ! UPDATE. My buddy e-mailed NC Wildlife Commission and told them what happened. Their reply. " We have no rules or regulations against "crowding" on the game lands."
  20. Well, 2 hunting trips and no deer, haven't seen one, haven't heard one. The closest I come is hearing other people shoot at them. It gets really disheartening.
  21. Re: Cheap shot!! [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] marrage for money isnt it, besides who cares maybe you just jealous you didnt marry a multi-millionaire. [/ QUOTE ] Have to agree with Aaron here in that there is no comparing. The comment by Kerry about Cheney's daughter should never have been made(period). On the marrying into wealth, that is nothing new for the Kerry's anyways. The Forbes family was not exactly poor. [/ QUOTE ] Rich people stick together. They all live in the same neighborhood and belong to the same country clubs and summer on the same islands. Is it any wonder that money marries money. It happens all the time, why is it such a big deal when Kerry does it.
  22. Re: What You Don\'t Know, Can Really Hurt!!! [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] btw, on Reagan, after Carter I think the perspectives changed as he was viewed as a much stronger leader, and think that was pretty evident. [/ QUOTE ] Did you read the post named world war three??? it was pretty blatent in the regards to terrorism, i believe regan lossed a few marines under his watch??? I dont see any rebuttle in there about him bringing said people to justice. Regan may have been a strong leader but he didnt do anything to prevent terrorism, in fact if ya look at iran contra he may have facilitated them.Regan won the cold war by putting military spening into a whole other world, and that is fine, but he didnt use any of that military strenght to battle terrorists, who where commiting acts against US citizens for the duration of his presidency. None of the presidents i posted about above did anything to fight terrorism, and The current bush didnt do anything either untill 9-11. You are both chanting the party line by blaming the ex-president first when the blame should be placed apon all previous presidents and to some part us as citizens for not making terrorism more of an issue instead we sat back and watched these events but since they didnt strike closer to home we acted shocked and then went back into sleep mode. Im going to point it out to you real clearly here during regan this is what happened, all with little or no intervention [ QUOTE ] In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut. When it explodes, it kills 63 people. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Then just six short months later a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber. The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept. Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid. Then in August a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked. Fifty-nine days later a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed. The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 [/ QUOTE ] This are all under regan yet you as the the person who wrote this email did, all ascertain that this is clintons fault??????? LMAO we've been bending over and grabbing our ankles for the terrorists since carter period. we are all at fault, trying to blame one person is just kissing the elephents you know what. [/ QUOTE ] I pointed out the same thing Aaron when it was first posted, but they seem to think everything that happens to this country is the fault of Clinton or Democrats. I'm surprised they don't blame Vietnam on Clinton since he didn't even go over there.
  23. Re: The real and underlining reason Kerry isn\'t fi [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] he said 75% of his class was voting kerry. [/ QUOTE ] That's probably because 75% of his class hasn't been in a combat zone and enjoyed some of that Combat Tax Free money or Eminent Danger Pay Big bucks baby Lots of medals too!!! [/ QUOTE ] Didn't Bush reduce that combat pay before he sent our troops over there. I guess he figured he was gonna send a lot and be there for awhile so he could save a buck.
  24. Re: Gay marriage... [ QUOTE ] It can't reasonably be a state issue when so many other things are involved. For instance. A gay couple lives in Tennesse and one works in Kentuky. They have joint medical insurance at the place of buisness of the one that works in KY, but TN doesn't allow gay marrage. The partner who works in TN and is on the med plan gets sick in TN. Does the insurance company cover them in a state that doesn't acknowledge the marrage exists. Social security - national program. If they are allowed to recieve social security from one another, then we as a nation are accepting gay marrage. Thus taking the right to decide away from the state they preside in. Any retirement system that goes from state to state. It would be a nightmare to try to figure out that one. Parental rights from state to state. Children could get social security from someone who is not a biological parent, costing taxpayers Billions. Just off the top of my head. [/ QUOTE ] Even if that were the case with a straight couple, the other state in question isn't constitutionally required to recognize any other marriage from another state. A constitutional amendment banning gay marriage would be pointless since states aren't required by law in the first place to recognize straight marriages. They just do cause it's the "norm"
  25. Re: Gay marriage... [ QUOTE ] Thou shalt not lie down with the beast of the field as with woman kind. Not gonna touch that one [/ QUOTE ] Isn't that one legal in Arkansas.
