  1. Late, buy maybe an alternate. Wade Gummersheimer wgumz 39 Illinois October 1-January 15ish
  2. Thanks Pointer for the assistance with posting those pictures. We have our 2nd season starting Thursday with snow on Friday. Love it. Stay safe and enjoy. Wade
  3. Thanks dogs. I will hopefully tonight when I get home from work. Thanks again, Wade
  4. Thanks South GA. Good luck this weekend.
  5. Landed a 12 point on Sunday afternoon. Was a cold weekend and very few deer here. I am still having trouble posting photos in the photo contest. I couldn't do it for the doe and still can't with this buck. 17 points for the team is too many not to get posted. I will try and get these posted. I was seeing this guy for a couple weeks on the trail cam and figured he found his way in the back of someone else's truck. Anyway, keep up the good work, Happy Thanksgiving, and stay safe. I was almost a statistic 2 weeks ago when my strap broke on my hang on stand. Wade
  6. Only downfall was my family was out of town, so I had to do all the pics myself. The photo with the deer isn't the best, but all I could do trying to hold the deer up and take a self-photo. Hopefully it works. Wade
  7. Some nice looking deer guys. I was out last night and ended my drought of never killing a deer with a bow. Shot a nice doe last night. I have the pics on my phone, however, I am not sure how to enter the pics to the board. Can anyone assist so we can add another 5 points? PM me with any assistance. I will be heading back out tomorrow morning and evening. Wade
  8. Sorry I haven't been on in a little while. I have been out, been seeing deer in the evening, but just does. Good news is each time I am seeing something. Just not too close. Majority of the bucks I have been seeing is during the night with the camera. I am hoping since the crops are down that they will change their pattern along with rut starting soon, hopefully. Looks like everyone is doing well, seeing deer and making great shots, MNhunterr, lol. Good luck and may the big boy show up close for ya. Wade
  9. Glad they came out with no problems. You will be a little sore for a day or two. Good luck this weekend.
  10. Sorry guys, been gone for a week on business. Now on vacation until middle of next week. I got out this morning, had a couple does about 40 yards, but that was it. Been out three times since the season, but hopefully I will be out more this week. I am on page 3 of catching up on posts, so if anyone bagged one, congratulations. Good luck to all. Wade
  11. Like I mentioned, I checked the trail camera. A lot of deer passing through this small section behind my house. Always to seems to look this way around September here. Only major difference is all the pictures are either in the morning with the sun up or the evening with plenty of shooting light. Last year, all the pictures were overnight, and I could never seem to see anything moving during gun season. Good luck to all whose season has already started. Wade
  12. And by the way, any name is good for me. Rut crazed has a good ring to it. Wade
  13. Gents, I am here and checking in. I am sorry. Bow season starts for me here in Illinois on October 1. I was out shooting the bow this evening and remembered I didn't check in. My apologies. I have everything set up and just pulled a camera this evening from behind my house. I have two stands set up there and they have been moving around by both. Wade
  14. I am still here. Just checking in and reading up on the posts. I have been out, just nothing to report. Been seeing deer, either too far or in too much brush. Second firearms season starts tomorrow, so hopefully i will at least throw on 5 points for the team. Moved my stand after 1st season, and have been seeing deer closer, so hopefullly this will help out. Good luck to all and keep up the good work. Be safe. Wade
  15. Nice Buck bowhunter. Very nice looking deer. Dog, hopefully you can connect on one of those monsters. I am not sure if I could sleep knowing those are out there, lol. I am still a big goose egg and only saw a handful of deer. Firearms season opens in two weeks, and I have vacation that weekend, so hopefully, maybe I can participate in the points game for you. Good luck to all and stay safe in the trees. Wade
  16. Just checking in. I will be out Wednesday evening due to work today and Tuesday. Good Luck to all, and enjoy the times in the woods. Wade
  17. How is it going everyone?? Any name is good with me. Season starts Monday for me, however, will not be able to hit the woods until Wednesday with work. Good Luck everyone.
  18. Well Gents, sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Speaking of tag soup, same here. All I ended with was a torn ligament and meniscus along with surgery and have been a gimp for awhile. So needless to say, nothing for me. Sorry guys. Any points I could have put on the table would have been nice. Have to wait till next year.
  19. Guys, I hear ya. I was out this past weekend and hunted late morning to dusk and saw only one doe late Sunday night. I didn't have a shot at her. She was within shooting distance but was in line of a farmers house and his property and once she walked past the property, she was too far. I was limited to my ground blind this weekend. I tried to get up in one of my ladder stands, but the knee said no way. Our ML season starts Friday, and I will be able to hunt my other stands. I will be keeping my fingers crossed. Mike, nice buck and sounds like you have a great place up there. You see more deer in one night than I see all season. I planted an acre and a half of clover, and wild game mix in August and it looks great and I see where they are eating, but I have yet to physically see deer in it. I am guessing they are there in the evenings. Good luck to all and I will try and get some points up. Wade
  20. Silverfox: I have been giving updates. Been out a bunch for bow, too far away and been out our first firearms season and blew out my knee. I just had surgery on it Tuesday, the 29th. Our second firearm season is this weekend starting today through Sunday. I am planning on getting out in a ground blind maybe Saturday or Friday evening depending on the pain and weather conditions. We have a ML season coming up the following weekend and am planning on being out there the whole time. I will bag you something, just had an unfortunate pop in my knee on the 19th and an unplanned surgery. Wade, Sorry I haven't bagged anything yet.
  21. No hunting for me since the 19th when I tore my knee up on opening weekend. I just had surgery yesterday on it and it feels great for the first day since surgery. Doc is saying that by the weekend I could be back out as long as there is no ice. I will put my blind up again and hopefully hunt out of it this weekend if the knee continues to get better. I still have this weekend which is second season of firearm and the next weekend which is muzzleloader. I will do my best to get somemore points on the board. Stay SAFE and enjoy the time in the woods. Wade
  22. Well, our first season came and gone this past weekend for firearms. Only thing I ended up with is a blown knee. Took a step out of a creek bottom and the knee said I don't want to do that and popped. I spent all day yesterday and the Dr., the surgeon, the hospital for XRays and another place for an MRI. I am off work now, so this may get me more time in the woods. I just have to park the ATV ALOT closer to the stand or blind. I did see deer this weekend and majority of them were bucks, but too far out with a slug. Guys, great deer so far, and may you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Wade
  23. Great deer so far guys. Firearms season starts tomorrow for us. Nothing for me yet, and by reading the posts, I am just about the only one. I will connect. Slash, nice deer. I am heading out for one last hunt with the bow tonight before this weekend.
