  3. Re: Good Day at the local gun show... PA and LilHunter, thanks for the info. Hopefully going later this week and getting the scope. Just picked up both today. That .17 is a fast one. I will enjoy shooting it. Can't wait to get the scope and put it all together.
  4. Re: Good Day at the local gun show... LilHunter or CB, That is the same gun, wood stock and heavy barrel. What type of rings you have for the scope. I was told that I may need higher rings if I would go with a 3x9x40 scope. I was planning on the Bushnell, but am curious about what rings will be needed.
  5. Went to the local gun show today looking for a 22. Anyway, came home with a used 10-22 Ruger, laminate stock, and a new savage .17 HMR. Heard quite abit about the .17 HMR and had to get one for plinking around. Came out of there under 300.00 today and am quite pleased. Can't wait to pick them both up tomorrow. I will be needing a scope for the Savage. I don't want anything too expensive. Any suggestions? Kind of thinking a Bushnell. Not too sure. Also, what have you heard about the .17, anybody have one and what you think about it. What is the range of the .17. Was hearing 100 to 150 yards. I saw an episode a while back on OLN where a guy, can't remember who it was, was shooting prairie dogs with it. I remember him saying that it was a flat shooting rifle and quick. Let me know what you think. Wade
  6. Re: Mossberg 535 Thanks AJ for the info. Good way with words. I agree after reading more about it today. I think I may be ordering it tomorrow. Will see what happens. Thanks, Wade
  7. AJ or whoever, What have you heard about these? I have been looking all around for an 835, matte finish, black synthetic and a matte slug barrel with rifle sights. Everything I have been finding in rifle sights is the blued finish. I noticed that the 535 is close to the same thing as the 835 and it has what I am looking for. I had an 835 a couple of years ago and sold it for money for a browning gold. I don't like shoving heavy loads in the gold, so I am wanting another 835 or something close or comparable price. Any info on the this would be appreciated. Thanks, Wade

  11. Re: Anyone a 3rd watch fan? I missed quite a few lately. Caught the end of Fridays. Usually I watch the reruns on A & E, what happened to Bosco? Saw that he was leaving the hospital.
  12. Re: Shoulder Surgery Tomorrow Good luck Kirk, you will have that sling off in a week or two, just went through that myself a couple of months ago. Wasn't as bad as I thought. The worst part for me was the rehab, getting up, driving to the hospital, but once I got there and noticed how good looking the physical therapists were, it all didn't seem so bad. Best of luck, hope for a fast recovery for you. Wade
  13. I am posting for feedback on a Kimber handgun. I am an avid shooter and shoot three to four times a week. I mostly shoot a glock, but occassionally shoot a colt and a smith. Being in law enforcement, I am partial to the glock which is why I shoot that more. I have been getting into IDPA shoots recently and have been doing good with the guns I have, but you know how it is. I have seen alot of the guys using Kimbers, and just a couple days ago, picked up my first Kimber, and fell in love with it. Are they worth the money if you shoot alot? I know they feel good and appear to be a well balanced gun. Any info. from Kimber owners is appreciated. Wade
  14. Re: Venison Sausage??? When I get mine done, I usually get mine mixed with a third of pork. Alot of people down here get theirs mixed with half pork. That was too much, didn't like it as much. Wade
  15. Re: Got a nice 3x4 tonight Very nice buck 3legs. That is something to be proud of. Tough to beat a hunting partner like Buckee. Nice deer. Wade
  16. Anybody have any good recipes for Fried Turkey. I have a Turkey Fryer and have never used it, but any planning on Friday Evening. I have everything I need, but the only thing I am not sure on is what people inject into the turkey. Anybody have any good recipes or know what type of seasoning they put in the turkey? If there is any good recipes out there and you don't mind sharing them, I would like to know what to get. Thanks, Wade
