    Great Dane Puppies

These were born Christmas Eve 2009. Aren't they cute? If you want one, send me a PM and I'll get you in touch with the owner. I'm not the one selling but this guy is a good friend of mine.

    Line weight

That line is the same diameter as 4lb mono. It's way too limp for most baitcasters. In other words BACKLASH CITY.

Nowadays especially, with so many options other than simply mono, the breaking strength of the line isn't as big a concern as the diameter of the line. Your reel will be rated for an optimum diameter range. This the range of diameters it will cast the best and spool the most efficiently. Just don't put more drag force on the rod and reel than they are rated to handle. Super braids are much thinner and stronger. You need to use the right diameter on these lines, the breaking strength of the line is practically irrelevant. Pay more attention to diameter than breaking strength and you're equipment will serve you much better.

That's great to hear Steve. I'll keep praying.

    FOB

Personally, I've found they work as advertized and stabilize an arrow well. The only issue I've had with them is that with a long draw (30") and a short axle to axle bow (less than 36") they get pinched at full draw. Yes you can spread the string loop to accomodate them I just would have preferred to be able to shoot my blazers with no setup change. I've got around 2 dozen arrows already fletched with blazers so until I use them up I really can't afford to change. But overall yes I do like the FOBs.
  6. Unioncountyslayer, you definitely sound like you understand! We still really miss our last boxer. We are very thankful Lilly came along.
  7. Steve I think these folks just honestly couldn't handle having a dog. Things had gotten tough for them (I just found out one of their children is autistic). To their credit medically we have all the records and this dog has been well cared for. They had placed her at a doggy foster home which is where we got her (not a kill shelter).
  8. This is Lilly. Two year old boxer whose owners didn't want her anymore. They apparently just weren't "dog" people. No dog whisperer stuff required. This is a good dog! We didn't want another dog but sometimes that just doesn't matter. She's making herself at home already.
  9. You must have access to some open water. Usually river hunts really crank up when the ice is bad.
  10. Too much water and too much ice. Been a tough December for Arkansas duck hunters based on my friends reports who are hunting there. I had actually planned to be there in December but it didn't work out. I was told I didn't miss anything. I didn't doubt it. Looks like you experienced the same they did. When it's good in Arkansas it's awesome! Don't let this trip be your last there.
  11. Yes, who really knows? That's really what I am trying to make folks think about. Maybe we should be trying harder to figure out how to predict and prepare for such events. We can't afford to dismiss any possible cause just because it doesn't initially make sense to us. How many Haitians could have been saved if we saw this coming? I live on the coast and getting out of the way of hurricanes is a very real part of my life. I've got an advantage in knowing ahead of time to get out of the way of the inevitable. I don't know of an equivalent for quake prediction. What are our science dollars being spent on nowadays? Perhaps we need to re-focus some of that money on quake prediction. It's tragic, extremely tragic.
  12. I'm suspicious the asteroid that passed close near the earth Tuesday triggered the quake in Haiti. The moon by itself influences tide and weather. A big enough asteroid passing close enough surely would have some effect. I wonder if anyone else thinks that's possible?
  13. I've never had the nasal form either. In fact this year it was IM as usual. Frankly, I'm like you in thinking that only kids got the nasal form. Guess it doesn't matter, just has never been an option for me.
  14. It's one thing to do that. To do it well is another. I'm impressed.
  15. My 2nd nice buck for 2009.
  16. Call Gobbler Guns and they will have a choke to recommend for your specific gun and turkey load you wish to use. Save yourself a lot of expense in experimentation. http://gobblerguns.com/

Put it on a hamburger with roasted red peppers and a slice of pepper jack cheese
  18. Opening Day seven pointer.
  19. I agree, it's extremely unlikely the Creek Nation is to blame here. They are "taking a hit" for limiting sales.
  20. Big bull redfish from this Summer. And yes I released it.
  21. Well done Mike. I had forgotten you taking a picture of me by the Woodlands sign.
