Re: The North American #1 Guns I emailed him last night. I'm waiting for a reply. Glad he hasn't forgotten us. Let's keep chugging along!

Re: The North American #1 Guns Our second gun season has arrived here in Illinois. I was sick for the first one and didn't hunt much. I was out this afternoon for the last 45 minutes of the day and passed up a doe. I'll hold out for a buck until Sunday afternoon and then try to whack a doe for 5 team points. I hope our phantom member gets something this week. We are in the chase!

Re: Alabama hunter missing in Illinois Strat Oakley returned to his family in Alabama this morning. He is OK. The family wishes to thank all who said prayers or in any way helped in finding their loved one.

Re: Alabama hunter missing in Illinois His pic is in Walmart in Pittsfield back in the sporting goods section. He may have bought gas there in Barry this morning. One of the clerks thought so. I saw the poster in Pittsfield Walmart this morning and then got a call from the family and later his best friend. Will post more info as I get it.

Alabama hunter Michael Stratton 'Strat' Oakley left his home in Alabama last Sunday and has not been seen since by family or friends. Strat is tall, weighs 275 and has red hair. He has been seen this week in Pike County Illinois. Strat left home with driving his tan colored 2000 Nissan Frontier. He was pulling a black utility trailer with a deep freeze and misc taxidermy supplies. The truck has Alabama tags 41B324P Stra has been seen in Pittsfield and Detroit. He may have been seen in Barry this morning (Sat) He stopped in several taxidermy shops and may have been looking for work in that field. He has a deer lease near Pittsfield from a guy name Jerry. Strat suffers from depression and needs to get back on his medications. Please call his wife at 256-810-4039 if you see him. The Ill State Police and CPO's are aware of his disappearance. Strat may also be found in the Payson, IL area or in the MO towns of Hannibal, Quincy, or LaGrange. His wife is in the area and would appreciate any leads you may be able to give.

Re: Nephews heart surgery So glad to hear of the successful surgery. We'll include him in our prayers. My son still includes Joseph and Tominator in his prayers. Lane loves to hear Baby Joey stories I create to illustrate what he needs to do. Your son is who I model the stories after. Good luck!

Re: The North American #1 Guns Thought I'd stop by and say I am still hunting when I can. Our 1st gun season was last weekend and I was sick much of it. Passed up some does. Hopefully will get out this weekend bowhunting(saw none tonight). Our second gun season is the 1st weekend in December. I should do some good by then if I can shake this cold/cough. Looks like we are at 68 points so we are in the hunt! Good luck all! LLBUX

Re: The North American #1 Guns Good job guys!!!!! My weekend hunt was K-o'ed when I had a root canal get infected. I was pretty miserable all weekend. Woke up Monday morning with a face like a pumpkin. My eyes almost swelled shut. I had a reaction to some meds and had to go see the doc. Some better today but I still won't win any beauty contests. I may win a fright mask contest. Kids at school(I'm teacher) thought it was funny and I can see the humor too. Hopefully all will get well this week and I can sit for awhile on stand. Good luck all!

Re: Getting ready for Illinois hunt in 15 days. You may want to quiet your bow down before heading to IL. Sounds like you have a fast bow, but sound travels over 2X as fast and deer will duck an arrow. Hate to see you miss. Should be hot in IL around Nov 10. I'll be out! Good luck-

Re: The North American #1 Guns Welcome aboard. Check the rules for entering a doe for the team. Continued good luck!

Re: The North American #1 Guns Found a dead buck Friday. He had been liver-shot on Tues/Wed. Meat was too far gone for recovery. I salvaged the antlers on Sat afternoon. The buck went about 132" green as an 11 pointer. I'll try to post a pic later. Saw 8 does/fawns last night. It is cool enough now to take a doe so I'm goin' hunting! Good luck all!

Re: The North American #1 Guns LLBUX checking in. Looks like we have several folks from IL and other northern states. That is a big advantage. I'll be out tomorrow morning for the IL opener. I have selected a quiet little spot where I took some good buck pix this summer. The evening hunt will be on an oak flat. Let's get 'em! LLBUX

Re: Antelope Hunt Auction for Norm Sauceman Norm helped me last fall when I found out my wife was diagnosed with a lung disease called pulmonary fibrosis. I was very scared about losing her and having to raise my son alone. Norm's spirituality helped me get through the scare and things are not as bleak as they seemed at the time. Norm was there for me when I needed him. I'm glad to be able to help a little and I'll be sending some $ to help as I can. God Bless you Norm! Arnie Rahe LLBUX

Re: Illinois whitetails for? I sell hunts for my cousin( the landowner) for $1250 for 7 days with lodging. The landowner's son asked me to see if I could find someone interested in a hunt swap. I am interested in cars. Thanks-
-
Re: Illinois whitetails for? Will also consider AMC cars(I love my Pacers!), derby cars or other antique cars/trucks. Thanks folks!

Re: Grossman gone again? My paper says 3-4 months out. He should just retire if he is that fragile. I hope they can find Jeff George again as a back up.
-
Re: What do you think he will score?? Boys you are forgetting that NC deer are smaller bodied than midwest deer. He looks 3 1/2 and will score in the upper 130's as a 10 pointer.

Will swap 5-7 day bow or gun hunt for up to 4 hunters in exchange for similar antelope, buffalo, elk or spring bear hunt(over bait) Lodging included. All hunting on private farm land in Western Illinois. PM me if you have something to swap.

Re: Bad news for Illinois nonresident bowhunters The $600 deer tag is a myth and should be treated as such, not as a fact. Someone took a comment and accepted it as fact. The real facts are as I posted above. $325-$375 and $425 over the next three years. There is no current legislation pending or proposed that will raise tags above the numbers listed above. Tominator- As my wife is sick I gave up outfitting and my deer lease. I have sold a few hunts for a cousin and will be hunting his farms this fall. I'll speak with him about allowing some doe hunters. Good luck!
