but here is the real question muggs.....WHEN IS BQ GONNA PLAY???? I think Derek Anderson is a mediocre QB at best, he is inconsistent and will not be much help to us come the showdown @ Heinz field

the north is wide open with the first quarter of the season gone......i thought the steelers were a shoe in to take it but after that performance against the cards im not so sure. the browns and bengals have pretty ridiculous offenses if they can get their D on track they both have shots. Should be interesting

hey yall, sorry i havent been on in a while to check in. our season started saturday and i should be heading out sometime this week. got a place near my college that is pretty good. it just sux trying to squeeze in time to hunt with football, but hopefully i can help put some points on the board. also got our 100 acres in the heart of the best deer hunting in OH, coshocton county. i should at least be able to pull a doe out of there, and maybe the big boy that has been eluding me the past 2 seasons.

im single and lovin it....just some advice for you fellas in high school dont go off to college with a girlfriend. college is too much fun to be tied up with a girl back home and you cant really get the full experience. -

-

Well, after 3 weeks of heartache and stress, i finally got my bird. I had been hunting this bird all season, as he was easy find, gobbling every morning and letting my know where he was. Although he would gobble his head off, as soon as this bird hit the ground you wouldnt hear another peep out of him. So after a few morning i went to another property and bumped a bird i had hunted for a few days and was starting to get awfully disappointed. So, after the weekend i decided i would try again for my original big boy, but go in with a little different strategy. on the other mornings i had hunted him, i had tried every kind of hen noise one can make, soft yelps with some purrs, hard cutts and yelps, even tried using 2 calls to make it seem like 2 hens were fighting, to no availe. So this morning i thought i would just sit and wait for him to come to me, like deer hunting. so i set up about 80 yds from his roost sight and waited for light. sure enough, he started boomin right at first light and the hens soon followed. then, i see one, two, three hens heading my way and not far behind was the big boy in full strut. the hens came right at me, one of them i probably could have hit with my gun, but the big boy would not break strut and come. finally, after the hens had walked past, he started heading right for me and just as he came from behind a big maple, i threw 2 cutts at him, he lifted that big 'ol white head of his, and i let the 3" #5 Winchester Supremes do their work. Put him down at 30 steps. Unfortunately, he had had a tough winter and had some severe beard rot. Although he was a mature, double bearded gobbler, the 2 beards added up to 4". weighed in at 18.1 pounds with 7/8 inch spurs. although he wasnt the most impressive bird, i took great pride in him because of the hard work and effort it took to get him bagged.

TEAM #24: Cluck...Cluck...BOOM!
RDNKHNTR77 replied to Strut10's topic in Announcements & Online Contests
well, u can chalk another one up for the team!!! i had been hunting this bird the past week and he always seemed to give me the slip, until monday morning at about 6:25. He was gobblin on the roost and had hens all around him and, since he hadnt been answering too many of my calls earlier in the week, i figured i would just sit and wait for those hens to bring him to me. sure enough, i watched him fly down and land about 60 yds away and he strutted for about 5 minutes and the hens started comin my way. one of them even walked about 5 yds from me. the gobbler followed shortly after and was dead at 30 steps. it was kind of disappointing walkin up to him because we had a tough winter hear and he had some severe beard rot. 2 beards that added up to 4 inches, but he was a mature 2 year old bird. weighed 18.1 pounds with 7/8 in. spurs. -

Re: TURKEY TEAM #24 [ QUOTE ] I am using 3" remington #5s nitro turkey. The best thing is that they are about three bucks cheaper per box than the other brands. [/ QUOTE ] i usually use the 3" winchester supremes #6s might have to try those remingtons this year though since i am pretty pressed for $$
