  1. too long, actually. i've been enjoying retirement. got plenty of fish and 2 deer, and four 5 gallon buckets of shrimp. i'm so tired of eating shrimp & crab... how's that for a sad story. lol. we have near dial up on the island, but are getting high speed in february. let's hope so. sorry to be so lax on here, but summer is just too busy. i've also built a couple of cabins and heck, now that i'm retired i have no idea how i EVER found time to go to work.

  5. prayers said tim. all the best to you. i'm in alaska and working on new cabins, so don't get on much
  6. i guess i've outgrown loving those blizzards. we'll most likely head way south next winter. i'm in cheyenne now at 22 degrees and 2' of snow.
  7. Well, I'll be 69 soon. As most know, I retired in 2008 but did hang on to a couple of my favorite jobs. One was right here, as a Realtree Pro staffer. Great job and opportunity, with the best folks and products in the industry. But, as of the new year I'm done with the Pro Staff, also. Fully retired now. I'll stay around, of course. Other than this, life is the same. We leave Feb. 15 for home (alaska) We've been bumming from the kids & grandkids for a couple months, now it's time to head up. We are missing our fresh seafood. This year, with the new Denali, I may have in house wi-fi available. We'll see what happens in a few weeks.
  8. there is a huge difference when wolves are involved. i outfitted in jackson on the national elk refuge in the '80's & '90's. each year had 14,000-18,000 elk. this year when i was there in decmeber, i saw less than 1,000. pretty sad. wolves are a real problem
  9. sounds like another great hunt. good luck to all.

    SHOT Show

glad you had a good time.
  14. that doesn't surprise me at all. urban hunting is an up & coming thing. lots of cities have large deer herds, and they are eating folks gardens and flowers complete with lots of vehicle damage from accidents. lots of town/cities allow archery yard hunting.
  15. i'll bet the police know just where to look.
  16. oh, i think everyone gets the cartoon, arty. they just ignore the reality of it.
  17. hard to work in -30 weather. i've done it, but in slow motion
