We had our 5 minutes of fame when they hunted Truscott w/ us a few years back... It sure was a blast. The Duck Gumbo Phil made for us took 7 hours to cook... Man that stuff was tasty!! We got it pretty darn good in North Texas when it comes to waterfowl hunting. Re: Any Duck Hunters in here? DC and Team Realtree Great pictures by everyone. We may all be crazy folks at heart , but we all got a serious passion for duck hunting. Keep those waterfowl image postings going in this forum all season. While I like and respect my fellow deer hunters, we have saying in Truscott Texas.... What decoy brands does everyone in here hunt with? Do you use motion decoys like MOJO's ? Is your calling good so they come right in and finish? I know some folks hate the motion decoys and view them as Un Sportsman Like Conduct ,while hunting. Much like the always contraversial "water swat" or " skillet shot" . I think ducks taste pretty much the same, whether you kill em in the air or on the water. But to remain politically correct, the proper term is game harvest, not kill. So should you shoot your ducks flying in the air, they were harvested and you are considered a sportsman. But if you shoot ducks on the water, they were killed by a person many would consider un sportsman like. People have such a wide range opinions on sportsmanship while hunting, it can get get confusing. What are you thoughts on this?

Duck Season is close are you excited? While we have numerous passionate - hardcore Deer and Big game hunters in this forum, are there any fellow Duck Nuts, Quack Heads, Duckaholics, or Waterfowl Warriors in this forum? Re: Custom Airel-Topo Maps-Cheap I have noticed nearly all the TOPO maps are quite dated... Ours in N. Texas is from 1984! But, the color airel maps are much newer. Most of the ones I have created, ordered and sold were around 2004. Updating TOPO maps is a big deal, I think it has to be done by the FED government, USGS..... I did some heavy research on these maps by MYTOPO .COM. While I am far form an expert on map making... The benefits of making your own custom hunting maps can be huge. Thier cost is inexpensive, and they are also very easy to order, create and recieve thorugh the mail. Re: food plot Texan_Til - You posted the absolute best crop in Texas, for dove food plots. In my opinion, Milo is even better than the sacred sunflowers every one is so crazy about... Where ever you hunt in Central TX, I bet you folks do real well.... Have you ever hunted Geese on or over milo fields that were holding small pockets of water. Like after a good rain?
