Re: intimidation..... Hunt the middle of the day in the rut. Big boys make big mistakes during this time. Also hunt as much as you can during the rut. In the later part of the rut you may find bucks roaming from other locations so pressure is not a problem. Just try and keep sent free and make as little disturbance as possible. Good luck.

Re: food plot woes! I would overseed the area lightly with the same mix just before the next rain. I think you will be ok.

Re: stupidity strikes again!!!!!!! Sometimes it just works out that way. I am sure you will still remember that hunt for a long time. That is what it is about, the memories.

I think they are the same. On there web site they only show two digital cams. One is a 1.3 mp and the other a 3.1 mp. You may be looking at a new model 1.3 and a old model 1.3.

Re: Deer calls I think I have owned them all at one time or another. I bought the original grunt call that was a friction call. I killed several deer with it. I then bought a mouth blown call that sounded like a duck. Anyway I have had the most responses the first couple of years they came out. Now it seems the deer are not responding as well. Even when I can see the deer they will look my way and keep eating or walking most of the time. But on at least once or twice a year they come looking. The best time I have found was late in the evening. The second best is at dawn. If I dont see a deer I will bleat of grunt twice only. Onces to get there attention and another to let them get the direction. I feel if you do it more than that they will pinpoint your location. I will do it every 30mins. This will only be two hours after sunup and two hours before sunset. I have rattled and grunted during the day without much results. We have plenty of does so they dont respond well to rattling. I have never had a deer spook from my calling using a grunt or a bleat. You just have to keep trying. I mix the grunts and bleats during the rut but only grunt during the early part of the season. I do use the primos can now and like it. This last weekend of the season last year I had a 4 point come in to it. I got him on video. Good luck.

Re: Game Camara Help They get use to it. I had 54 pictures in one night of two big bucks at my salt lick. They didnt seem to mind. I have plenty others with multiple pics. I have seen some get spooked and just move around the camera just out of range. Others dont seem to care. Anyway if they move it will only be a few yards away so the cam wont trip. I just move my cam and get the same deer again. Good luck.

Re: bait site Nice spot. I just put one of my cams back out since the hurricane. I can only get to one of my spots because of all the down trees. I will be working on the trails this weekend. Good luck.

Re: Opinions Please Climbing sticks. I made my own and I would not have anything else. I used climbing spurs for about 6 years but after a few close calls i gave that up. There all pretty good. buy the cheap ones and throw the straps away and get some ratchet straps and your done.

Re: disapointing hoyt I just today talked to a friend of mine that bought one last week. He is having fits. His will make a good group and then shoot another group 4 inches from the first one. He blamed it on his rest. He is buying a dropaway now.

Re: new rhino 520 Sounds nice but I would bet by next year your cell phone will be able to do all that also. I like the rhino and wish I had a set. I just last year bought a set of Midland that has a 15 mile range. I cant believe how fast things progress.

Re: Where are the big boys??????? I went back this week and checked on my cam that I had some big bucks on and I had 145 trips and not one of the two big bucks. I guess they didnt come back. I had at least 50 pics in one night of them last week. I will move it to another lick this weekend. I dont get it.

Re: My new digital homebrew camera Nice job. I have two with the D380's and they are alot bigger. I like how small you kept it. I started out to build only one. I now have 4 and I will add more next spring. Its hunting season now so I dont have time. Good luck. Show us some game pics.

Re: Hunter\'s View Treestands??? I have one called the Big Horn Ram. This one is a lockon and the most comfortable one that I have. It was on sale at Natchez shooting supply for around 50 something. I will by another one when they get them back in stock. They sold out quick. It is a heavy lock on but if you hunt out of it you will want all your lockon stands to be like it.

Re: Food Plot Question???? I think bio-logic has a phone number you can call and they will tell you what to use. I cant plant my plots this early I have to wait until September 1 or the weeds will take over. It might be December before we get a freeze to kill them. If the weeds get to high you can cut your field to allow sunlight to get to the plants below the weeds. I do this with my summer plots to cut back on the weeds and give my jointvetch time to get growing. just cut it high. Good luck.

Re: Ever used Deer Cane?? I have been using it and the deer are tearing it up right now. I went to the feed store at the end of last season and they were trying to get rid of what they had. 1 buck a bag. I spent 29 dollars. Thats all they had. I only use the powder deer cane and spread it on the ground like it is. I dont mix it or anything like that. The rain does the rest. They will stop hitting it as the weather cools down. I had about 400 trips on my deer cam that was at a one of these spots. I had two others out on food plots that only had about 50 pics between them. This was two weeks worth of pics. I change out my memory card on the one on the lick and got 64 in one night. 50 were of two nice bucks. Most of my 2005 pics on my webshots page below are of one of my licks. Give it a try but you may have waited to late. by the time they start hitting it the weather will cool down.

Re: The best part of Deer-Hunting..... Now that just aint right. I just got hungry.

Re: Food Plot Question? We have planted winter peas several times. Not the Autrailian ones. The pea do great but then when they start to flower the deer wipe them out. I mean they will make you think someone went through with a lawnmower with a bagger on it. If you are there at this time you will have some great hunting. It just so happened for us that they hit it during the week each time. I would plant something with it so that when they eat it up something else will be coming up. Clover would be good or wheat and oats. Good luck.
