  1. I agree and did the same thing as shooter. Just take the extractor out and the primers come right out. I never had a problem with it since.
  2. Re: Scopes I also had the Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 and I was impressed with it. I know you can pick them up for a reasonable price.
  3. Anyone know a price for a stainless encore with black thumbhole stock? Want to make sure I get a good price. Thanks
  4. Re: Any Success in NY Today? Our camp put down a total of 11 bucks and one doe (was wounded). Great opening day for us.
  5. Re: Decoy question Why would you use a buck decoy instead of a doe? I just got a couple decoys and our rifle season opens tomorrow. I'm debating on which sex to put out. I saw 4 bucks today all following does.
  6. Re: Finally let the air out of one! In Ny Congrats. Did you have just one decoy out?
  7. Just picked up a Remington 7400 tonight for 400 bucks. Think I got a good deal. Anyways I was thinking about using 150 grain bullets for it. Any opinions on some good loads?

    letoff

Re: letoff It's a bowtech allegience. So I'm looking at the website and I guess the difference would be shown by looking at the speed mod vs. the smooth mod? Thanks

    letoff

I have a quick question I hope someone could answer for me. Is there a difference in speed (fps)between a bow setup with 65% letoff and the same bow setup with 85% letoff?

    Lay Em Down

Re: Lay Em Down Shot a coyote with the same load yesterday. Can't find the entrance hole, but didnt look to hard. Know its somewhere in the lung area (blood out the nose) and came out and left a small hole in the back of the ribs on the opposite side. He was quartering to me.
  15. I'm looking for insulated snow camo coveralls. Anyone know where theres a good deal on them? My buddy got a pair from cabelas for a 100 bucks but they dont have them anymore.
  16. Re: UA Coldgear Hood I have one and yes it's a noticeable difference between that and a regular thick spandex mask. I love their products so far.

    Lay Em Down

Re: Lay Em Down Really? The first one was high in the lungs and me and my buddy had to poke around with our fingers to find a hole on both sides. The fur wasn't even messed up. And the second was heart area and there wasn't much of a hole on this one either. Just a drop of blood on the outside of the hair where the bullet passed through. Again had to poke around on the opposite side to find a hole. Both were broadside shots.
  18. Dropped a 4 point tonight and a doe last night. Sorry no pics for these. Came out about a hour before dark, then had to get going right for class(thanx pops). Shot him with my new 7mm-08 at 222 yards (rangefinder)freehand. The doe was 125 yards. last night. . Anyone have any better loads, currently shooting 140 grain Win. Power Points and can't even tell where I hit him without really inspecting them over. Entrance or exit holes are tiny and looking for something that will leave a bit bigger hole in case they don't drop in their tracks. Thanx Paul

    need help

Tomorrows supposed to be the best day of the year for deer hunting with the new moon, peak of the chase phase. and so on. Help me decide where to hunt. Options are a) relatively flat area on top of a big gorge over looking a corn field b) top of a ridge containing oak trees and a bunch of nice fresh rubs c) 50 yards inside a corner of a woodlot overlooking a old logging road with 3 fresh scrapes and a few small rubs I know theres a couple small bucks here or d) another stand overlooking a halfway grown up field up to your knees that we've already shot at 3 bucks in between my family and 2 of my buddies It's on the other side of option a and has no food in it. But most of the bucks we kill are found here
  20. Re: Balancing College and Bow Hunting... I have class's from 8-12 and work from 500-930. The area I hunt is about 40 mins from school and work. It sucks. I shouldn't of taken those 8 o'clock class's.
  21. Re: New Stand.... Same here, went into my neighbors gun shop and came home with a ultimag and a Rem LV SF in 7mm-08 earlier in the week. Then of course the leupold on top and all the shells.

    wounded

Re: wounded It's pouring out right at the moment but I'd like to have some in my truck in case I ever do need it again. I've never tried using a lantern before. My buddy had a led light last night and I thought it was horrible compared to my maglight. Seemed like everything was dull looking and he never found very much. Just my opinion though.

    wounded

Re: wounded The dogs didn't seem to help much. We walked the area the buck was last heading into. No luck. I'm still quite pissed about this. I'm setting my 3 game cameras in the area to hopefully get a picture of him if he's still around. Listened for the coyotes in the area at dark but that didn't help either. Has anyone used that spray on blood stuff to make the blood show off better. I'm not sure if it glows or what. I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about. Where can you get it if it does work well?
