Re: Electronic Dog collar
We use a Tri-Tronics on our hounds. Works good, has 3 different levels, and even came with a dummy collar so the dog "thinks" hey have the real one on.
I'm looking around for a new release, but there's not much to be found in a shorter type Mechenical, at least I haven't seen any yet. Anyone know where I can find a youth release or a shorter regular one and keep it under $50.

Re: looking for a good womans bow?
THere's Hoyt Rintec (sp?) I've heard alot of good stuff about it. Also look into Youth Bows. Browning makes some goods ones. I'm shooting a Browning Micro Midas, good draw length adjustment and Wieght varies in different models.

A friend of mine asked me what would the best small breed of dog be to track down a wounded hog? And how would you go about training it to track one?
I'm just a coon hunter but I gave him a few training tips but not sure if they helped, Can any hog hunters give some to pass along?
Thanks,
Laura
Re: Gun\'n For Gobbles #20
You got that Right! Wouldn't you know it though, my Dad passes our hunting locations on his way to work and there was 2 big long beards where we waited all morning for last week, then 6 in another field we hunt, don't know what they were though.
Where do they like to hole up? Thicker type spots like Timber Slashings? Near fields? I'm kinda Clueless. I saw one a couple times cross a field and then head into some pines, but after that I lose him. What do you look for to determine if it's a den, aside from tracks?
Re: What\'s in your CD player??
I've got one playing in the computer now. 15 of my favorite country songs! There's, Desktop Deer Hunter, Thrill of the Hunt, I'm from the country, HickTown, and More.
Re: Fresh Scrapes
Yes it was made by deer, they had plenty of tracks in it also. Social Scrape, that's one I've never heard...I'm going to have to hit the books again! lol I just always associated them with the rut, but now that you mention it, makes sense.
Re: Gun\'n For Gobbles #20
Well guys I hate to say it but my seasons over. Sorry I couldn't add to the score. This was the first year since I've gotton my first turkey that I haven't tagged one in. Kind of depressing until I think about all that happened during the season. Lots of good times that I may have missed had I tagged out and not hunted everyday. I'll post more details later all.

Maybe it's just in my part of Ohio, but has anyone seen any fresh scrapes? I've seen 2 really good ones nicely dug out, etc. both at different spots. Isn't it a little odd to be seeing them?
I always hear people talk about the Rules of Sportsmanship, but of course there's no rule book or anything but how do you guys refer to these rules? Like are they the unwritten rules or...?
Re: Got a caption for this photo???
