  2. What do you guys think about a red dot scope for a sight? I've heard it's harder to judge distance with it. But I'm shooting a lighter wieght bow, and won't take longer shots. Do you think it's a good choice or...? Thanks,

  5. Re: coyote\'s and turkey Not a coyote but a fox came in to the decoys. He was carrying this little black bird, saw the decoys, started stalking them he started to get real close then...My dad just cackled out this loud aggressive yelping. That thing was gone, Fast! Also a friend was calling had one gobbling and it shut up. Still calling a coyote came from the same direction as the turkey. So that coyote is history, it was about to have pups 2.
  6. After seeing a really little kitten coon clinging to it's den for fear of falling I toted the camera along for a night, hoping to get another chance at seeing it through a lens. This isn't the one but I didn't want to come home empty handed.

  10. Re: still camera photo for contest Cool pic, But it looks like a drawing. Doesn't it have to be an actual photograph to be entered?
  11. Re: Racoon Bait. They'll eat almost anything. Try old lunch meat, Sardines work the best though.

  15. I've seen the most coyotes ever this month, half a dozen or so. Worse is they're on our property. Then yesterday while out in the swimming pool I saw a deer, little later I see it take off. I look out again not 200 yards from our house is a coyote! It walked around they're for awhile then started to go to the back of the field. After my Dad got home he dug out some of his old traps and might set them soon. But not soon enough. While my Dad was digging around another coyote was out in the field. My Dad came and seen, then he left, and my sister tells me "Dads has a gun". Next I heard an animal in distress. A coon squaller actually. As I watched the coyote with binocs, It heard the squalling alright, put his head down and started trotting towards the sound. I snuck out to where my Dad was calling, As the coyote moved closer to the sound. Though it didn't come closer then 150 yards, it was pretty cool! Any tips on hunting them?

  17. Re: What the Heck? I don't know about dusting, seems odd when it's dark out. It had to have been poults, but I didn't here or see anything. Last year we found a nest of poults they were all making a "peep" sound after mom ran off.
  18. Re: Im New Welcome! I"m curious to know what you hunt also.
  19. Re: What the Heck? Yeah, was out coonhunting, It might of had poults, but I don't know. It was odd though. Maybe it was scared of heights
  20. Went out hunting the other night, it's around 11:00pm and completely dark. Walking through this grassy field and nearly to the woods this turkey takes off flying 2 feet from me. I was ready to take of running, I didn't know what the heck is was! Flipping a light on I could tell it was a turkey. What I don't get is why it was one the ground, in the open. Looking around there was this small dirt area that was still warm where it had been. Kept looking didn't see any poults or nothing. It was odd, anyone else seen turkeys do this?
