  1. Thanks guys! As much as I hate it, it looks like im gonna be somewhat of a couch potato.
  2. I woulda thought that somewhere in his travels when he locked through some dams they woulda caught that he would not make it. The Ohio River is up right close to flood stage so that has the Tenessee River high and backed up. It is a miracle that no one got hurt.

    Santorum?

I am not trying to start a big arguement or anything just want to know everyones opinion on Rick Santorum. The more that I watch the debates and learn about where he stands the more I am starting to like him. I am not sure if has the following to win but we will see. I think the more Mitt and Newt play the personal attack it will help him gain ground.
  4. Well I just got my MRI results from the doctor and turns out I have arthritis in my lower spine and also have a bulging disc. I get 3 weeks off from work with no lifting and 3 weeks of physical therapy. I was just gonna deal with the pain and go back to work but DR told me I could take 3 weeks off and fix or risk rupturing it and have surgery and be off 3-4 months. I am going to have to find something to do because 3 weeks in the house is gonna drive me nuts!!
  5. I have an 07 Chevy Colorado. Over the past year there has been about 3-4 times where the truck would not start. It would roll over (and sound like the battery has plenty of juice to roll over) but sounded like nothing was firing. It would just sit there and roll over. Every time I would let it sit anywhere from 15 mins to 6 hours, (let it sit 6 hours while i went out hunting) everytime it would start right back up. I went and bought a new battery but it did it again a month afterwards. I have tried to jump it but like I said by listening to it, it has enough juice to start. I took it the local dealership and they said the put it on the computer and it showed my 3 month old batter has 0 cold cranking amps and that was my problem. I dont think it is. If that was it wouldnt my truck never start? My cousin who is a mechanic said it sounds like to him that it is in the fuse box under the hood. Something about the fuse to the fuel pump relay could not be connected good or something like that. What are your thoughts?
  6. Prayers sent! Hope all comes back well!
  7. Seen that on the local news last night and this morning. Absolute insanity! I would like to know what was going through that captains head now and as it was going on.
  8. I am with shaun on this. 55 lb thrust should do the trick. My experience with trolling motors (bass fishing) is that a Minn-Kota does better cutting through the grass and weeds than any other trolling motor I have used.
  9. John, we are looking at late july - early August.
  10. My fiancee and I have decided that for our honeymoon we are going to Gulf Shores, AL. We are going to be staying in the orange beach area.Since neither one of us has seen the ocean I think this will be a good spot. I have a couple of questions if anyone can help with them I would greatly appreciate it. First question, I did get permission to be able to find a local fishing charter and do one day of fishing while I am there. (Yes, I am very lucky). I am not sure what I want to fish for though. We would be going somewhere around late July to early August. I would love to be able to catch Tuna or some of the other big game species but do not want to spend that kind of money. I am thinking maybe some redfish, I heard they were fun to catch. I would like to find fish where I could cast for them. Any tips or reccomendations would be helpful. Second Question, what is there to do as of attractions? I think the big part of us is going to be the beach and enjoy that but would like a few other things to do also. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.

    Finally!!

Congrats Shaun! Go whack them ducks!
  12. I agree. I do not know why these analyst keep bashing him. Whatever the kid does he excels at. they say he does not practice well but look at what he does in the games. He knows how to play football. I say forget about mechanics and all that, look at the results. He is not as bad as these guys make him out to be.
  13. It all depends on what you want to do with the pond. You must take some bass out to help balance the population. It would really help if you knew about the average size bass that was in there. You dont want to put a bigger slot limit in there if most of your bass are under that. It will aslo helping knowing about on average how many bass you catch per day. Do you want to make it so lake has a bunch of big ones or just a place to go and catch fish. With a guy catching a 6.5 lber I am assuming it has some giants in it. If it had good numbers of fish I would think of doing a slot of 14-18. You could only keep 1 over 18" and 4 under 14". I am not sure about the Indiana DNR but i know down here the DNR will come out and shock your pond and help you manage it for free. You could check into that.
  14. Prayers Sent, hope everything goes ok.
  15. Thanks for the advice guys! The place where I hunt I walk back in far enough to where I have only seen one other hunter back there but he was still a couple hundred yards from where I hunt. I don't trust people enough to leave it out all week. I would probably just leave it over night or something. Now I just have to find a cheaper camera but with some good qualities. Any suggestions?
  16. Gator, Jackson is about 4 hours east of springfield. It does not look like I will be able to get on the river this year with all the flooding. We usually wait untill the river is pretty low so there are only a couple holes they can go in. jbeck, post away. I love big smallies! I used to fish for smallies all the time when I lived back in Michigan.
  17. Happy birthday to the little guy!
  18. That is great! Glad to hear you guys had a good time.
  19. How did the glasses work for you? I am interested in seeing how they do. Might pick me up some.
  20. I was lucky enough to connect on 3 deer this year all with my bow. 2 does and buck. I did not get a chance to get out this year to turkey hunt.
  21. I have a couple questions whenever you have time to answer them. What is your favorite memory from being in the field? It could be from a hunt or scouting trip but when you think of hunting and go to tell a story to a friend what is the first experience that comes to mind? Also, what is the most days in a row you have hunted and do you ever get so exhausted you take a day off? I know when I hunt more than 3 days in a row it is hard for me to get up that 4th day. Last question, When you sit on stand, how long are you usually on stand? All day? It depends on time of year but I usually sit 3-4 hours in the morning and 3-4 in the after noon unless it is during pre rut-rut i will sit most of the day and take snacks with me.
