I see what some of you are saying. I used to go by if it would be the biggest buck I have shot to date I would shoot it but this year I have passed on 5 bucks that are bigger than what I have shot before.

Ok guys, This is the first year that I have made a consius effort to pass on younger/smaller bucks. Normally if it was a buck I was shooting. I have passed at least 10 different bucks and seen a couple more not in range. I am getting to the mood where if it has horns it dies. I hunt public land. I don't know why but it has been eating at me. I did have an oppurtunity at a nice 115-120 class 8 pt and blew it also. :bang: Does anyone else get feeling like this? I think it may be because I have only shot 4 bucks in 13 years of hunting.

Congrats Chris! I am about to do the same thing. Been passing a lot of smaller bucks but I think its game on now. lol

Muggsy, Let me explain to you why Durant is a better player and will be a better player. First, He is leading his team in ppg with 27.7. He is leading his team in rebounds per game with 7.1. He is alson leading his team in steals per game with 1.7. (Although according to you his defense sucks) People who can score produce in the NBA. Oden can not even stay on the floor because of his sloppy play. (If it wasnt sloppy he would be able to play 39 mins.) Who would you rather have? Someone who is a 11 ppg and 8 rpg person or someone who is 27 ppg and 7 rpg person? Kinda simple if you ask me. More productivity is better. Your arguement about the 4th option and 1st option makes my point. If Oden is the fourth scoring option on his team he would get a lot of easy looks at the basket. He does not have to create his own shot. Durant, being the first option has to deal with more double teams and has to create his own shot. Defenses key in on Durant more since he is the best scoring option on his team. Oden gets all the clean up baskets because the other team must key on Roy and Fernandez more. If you take off your rose colored glasses and and settle your man crush for a little and understand the points I just made you wouldn't be so high on your perch.

I am thinking about selling a couple of my shotguns that I no longer have use for. I have a Benelli Nova pump and a Remington 870 express with regular barrel and rifled barrel. The 870 has a Bushnell scope on it but needs some work. Think the firing pin is broke. I would like to get $200-225 out of the Benelli and $225-250 for the 870. Does that sound about right or am I asking too much?

Wow, Oden has one DECENT game and Muggsy is already praising his glory. Muggsy you have to look at who he did it against. The Heat? They really have no big man who is any good. That would be like you playing against a 10 year old. Of course your gonna get a lot of rebounds. Come back and talk to me when he plays against one of the best Centers in the league.

Nice buck Mud!! I messed a good chance on a nice 8 pt this past weekend. I chose to take a bad shot and messed up. He was 40 yards on a hard quartering away shot with a muzzleloader and I believe I grazed his shoulder. Blood ran out about 65 yards into the trail. I watched him limp off for about 110 yards. Hope to get back out there soon and try my luck at it again.

So I may have embellished a little bit about Forcier being better than Pryor. I really do not think he is. Just a little jealous he went to OSU instead lol. I am not selling Pryor short. I think the kid is a stud. Tressel just needs to utilize his running ability a little more. It may not work in the pros but in college it will and it will win you games. Pryor will win a Heismen in his college career if he does not leave early. All I am saying is give a coach a couple years tp be able to get his players in there that fit his system. They are getting better than last year.

Muggsy, The kid is freshmen and he played like one. Patience is the key. It is no different from when you are all up on Greg Oden. What did you tell us? Patience. So take some of your own advice. Be patient with this kid and dont be so quick to judge.

Well guys I am excited about this weekend. After seeing 24 deer in 3 sits last weekend and 9 different bucks, I have decided to finally let the muzzleloader bark this weekend. I have 3 tags to fill ( 1 buck and 2 does) and I plan on doing it. NOTHING is safe in the woods this weekend.

That stinks Mike but I am sure everything will work out. You have to do what is best for you and your family. You owe them nothing. I think he did it against the Falcons earlier this year and they made it. I seen it coming. He is an aggresive coach. I did not agree with it but loved it when the Colts stopped them. I think it was dumb. Why give the best QB in the game a short field to work with? Make him earn it.

I hate to jump back in this but I believe Michigans last big bowl game is when they beat up on Florida the year Tebow won the Heisman I believe. Did you forget about that one? As a Michigan fan I hate to say it but the Bucks have had the Wolverines number for as long as I can remember. Give Michigan a couple more years and I will bet they will be back in the top 10 and making these rivalry games a little more exciting.

Last weekend I did see one lonely button buck by himself and another fawn by herself but also seen a doe with little fawn trailing her.

I have a question on the rut and hoping you guys can help me. I have always thought that the smaller/younger bucks start chasing before the does come into heat and the Big/older bucks will wait untill the does are just about ready to start chasing. So from that thinking I came up with the statement that, Smaller/younger bucks go into rut earlier than the bigger/older bucks. Does that sound right to everyone else? Was just wondering because last weekend I seen 24 deer and 9 different bucks chasing or searching, all of them 1 1/2 yr olds. Was thinking this weekend might be better for bigger/older bucks.
