OK Guys! Deer season is over. I will be racking up the squirrels for the next couple months. I have put up a limit of squirrels every year and I have won this contest twice. Lets get this party started! :rockon:

Same here. The wifey fell asleep so I figure I might as well do the same. First time we have missed it since we met.

This past fall the hill I have been hunting on since I was 12 years old was sold. The new owners have told us no hunting. I would wish for lifetime access to that hill.

I have two pair of those socks and they are AWESOME!! I wear them hunting and ice fishing. They are the best sock I have ever owned!!

Backstraps and Innies with spicey curly fries. Top it off with some silver medal pinot noir.

Wow! So many come to mind. I was very blessed this year. 1. Won 2nd place in a chili cook-off. 2. Won a bronze medal in an international wine competition. 3. Daughters first communion. 4. Won my first gold medal at the State Fair. 5. First bow buck. 6. Saw my Godson shoot his first deer. 7. Was able to see my Dad kill his first ML deer after 24 years. 8. Not to mention, spending another year with all of my great friends here at Realtree.

I shoot Maxima's. They are the same as the Maxima Hunters but without the Camo. Plus they are a little less expensive than the Hunters.

We always try to get the hide off the same day that we shoot the deer or the next day. Butchers don't hang animals with the skin on, why would you? :yes: By removing the skin you expose excessive bruising and hair that the bullet pulls into the wound. These things if left on the deer can cause meat to go bad quickly.

Very cool find and a sad ending. If you had posted the freak story here I would have surmised that it was a doe. I got to see an antlered doe that someone shot back in the early 80's. It also had velvet on its antlers. I was told that because they lack testosterone, they do not have the urge to rub it off. Thanks for sharing the picks with us. I doubt you can save the velvet but cut the rack off and let it dry on the bone.

We didn't get the winds up here but plenty cold enough. I've had enough wind for a while. That big wind before Christmas whiped out a bunch of trees on my piece.
