  1. I had the same thing happen to me on a deer last year that I shot with a Rage. Don't know if the blades didn't deploy properly or what, but I don't plan to use these heads again. I know a lot of people out there have had great luck with them and swear by them, but it just put a bad taste in my mouth.
  2. I would think most any evergreen will work (white pine, red cedar, spruces, other pines). Plant 2 or 3 rows with the trees in each row offset to the trees in the other rows for the best effect.
  3. Congrats. The collection of pics you have of him is very cool.
  4. Have you heard of Everride mowers? I had not until a few years ago when a local business started carrying them. They are commercial zero-turns at what seems to be a reasonable price. When I talked to them for a friend, I believe the 48" was around $5000 and the 60" was around $6000. Just a thought. http://www.everride.com/html/home/index.asp
  5. Good luck with your stand. I have several of their stands, as well as several climbing sticks, screw-in steps, and other miscellaneous gear. Good company to deal with.
  6. Would you want to tune my bow for me Leo!!!??? LOL Great job.
  7. Holy crap!!! We have muskie in southern Indiana??? Awesome! Congrats!
  8. Boy do I wish I was closer to you (and that the wife wouldn't kill me if I bought it). Great machine at a great price.
  9. Dang it!!! I bowhunted Adams County, OH last fall. That big boy could have been mine! Throw the book at that s.o.b.!
  10. I'll admit Joe, I've always heard differently from what I'm reading here. I've always been told that an a/c unit will freeze up before it gets the cooler cold enough. I guess it depends on how cold you really want it. I have a friend that built one into his pole barn when it was built. It's about 8'x8', insulated to the max, floor drain in the middle, and he bought the cooling unit (I believe he called it a "reefer" unit) from a refrigerated semi, and had a plumber hook it all up. He has a digital thermstat set up on the outside, and he can literally freeze something solid in it if he wants. Definitely more costly than a window a/c unit, but you get what you pay for.
  11. Pictures of my Ghostblind set up. No brushing required. :shifty: It doesn't protect you from the weather like a pop-up blind though.
  12. LOL, that's awesome.....smart kid! Enjoy your vacation!
  13. Congrats on the buck. I bet if the bullet would have struck in front of the shoulder instead of behind it, you would have seen the bang-flop you wanted. Unfortunately, deer sometimes take steps and bullets/arrows don't hit exactly where we try to put them. The part that matters is that you got your deer.
  14. A good friend of mine stopped by my house last night on his way to the taxidermist to see if I wanted to see his buck. I'm always up for seeing a buck, and I knew if he stopped, it must be a nice one. I wasn't prepared for what he had though. He killed this bruiser last Thursday, December 17th here in southern Indiana with a muzzleloader. He said it was running with 2 other big bucks. This guy had the most bone, but the number two buck was a 10 ptr with a spread approaching 24". This guy has 15 points, an 18" spread, multiple forks, and grosses 204". I'm super happy for my buddy. As they say, pictures don't do it justice.
  15. I think I saw something like that on an episode of CSI:Miami. Cool stuff.
  16. I've also heard very good things about the Wolverine Durashocks.
  17. Unfortunately, if the thief wants it bad enough, it is not safe in the cab either. Window vs. rock = rock wins. Sorry for your loss bud.
  18. I've also been very fond of the early 70's Ford Broncos, especially with some lift and 33's or 35's.
  19. My tastes change from time to time, but I really liked the Dodge Vipers.
