  1. Re: Tinks 69 vs. Code Blue I've had some luck with Tinks 69.If the conditions are right it works decent.I've also had it spook bucks if I was using during gun season when they are under a lot of pressure or after the rut.Never tried Code Blue....I have a hard time paying that kind of money for a couple of bottles. No doubt it works,I'm just not sold on the one deer one bottle thing, since I mostly use it in scrapes, which are used by more than one deer anyway.
  2. Re: First of the season! Congrats! That's a nice looking slickhead.
  3. Re: passing deer-frustration setting in I feel your pain brother!I've seen more 1 1/2 year old bucks this year than does.It could just be that more buck fawns were born that year.I've had about 8 chances to shoot decent 6 or 8 pointers this year.I haven't shot a 1 1/2 old buck in about 4 years, and am willing to wait till after gun season to put some meat in the freezer....come December,if the freezers empty,I will take one.I have some pics of some nice bucks, but only at night. We'll see if the rut brings them out during the day in the next few weeks.

    Full moon

Re: Full moon Yep,it's been the same in my neck of the woods.Saturday morning was windy and bright.Never seen a single deer that morning, which is odd for the spot I was hunting.Sunday it was cloudy and a little basket rack came in before sunrise and he was grunting like crazy.I heard a snort wheeze from the distance and the buck disappeared.I called him back in a little later and he worked a scrape close to my stand.Only other deer I saw was a doe,and she was scanning the woods pretty hard looking to see if there was a buck around. Now it's supposed to be in the 60's and 70's the rest of the week which doesn't help any either. It should be getting better real soon.
  5. Re: Buck tag is officially filled Congrats!Sounds like a great morning.
  6. Re: Filled my muzzleloader tag.......with a bow!!! That's a nice buck!Congrats!
  7. Re: Dartonman drilled a meat deer (9 point) Congrats! That's good looking buck.
  8. Re: Team 1 I hunted Saturday and Sunday morning.Saturday was terrible, didn't see a single deer in 4 hours of hunting in the morning. It was pretty windy so I'm sure that didn't help. Sunday I had a buck coming in before daylight and he was grunting like crazy. He got about 2 steps from the tree and I could see from the moonlight he was a little basket rack. After he walked off a ways I heard another buck make a snort wheeze which was pretty cool.I've never heard that in the woods before so I was getting pumped. After the sun came up I gave a few grunts and estrous bleats and about 5 minutes later this little buck came back in.He worked a scrape at 20 yards right in my shooting lane.I wish he was a little bigger I would have been sending an easton his way.Only other deer I saw that morning was a doe that snuck in behind me and never gave me a shot. Looks like I'm done till next Sunday.
  9. Re: What do you drive? The wife drives a Trailblazer and I drive a 2002 Dodge Ram Quad cab 4X4.I just put a 4 1/2" suspension lift and 35" tires on it last month.I need to take some pics of it.
  10. Re: CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE IDEA-for BULLDAWG! Sounds good to me.How would it work?Would we just pool our $20 together and send it to you to give him 1 check?

  12. Re: Hard to believe how the time flies Happy birthday to the little one! No doubt time flies once you have kids.Hard to believe my little girl will be 3 next month. A few nights ago I was laying on the couch watching a hunting vid and she came up and layed with me for a while.I thought to myself " I wonder how much longer she will do stuff like this with me".They definately grow up too quick.

    Pike County

Re: Pike County Mostly because of managemant. These place have perfect habitat with crops, woods and creeks. A lot of Pike is operated by outfitters who control large tracts of land, and only allow certain sizes of deer to be taken,so most bucks in that area will make it to 3 1/2 years old without any problem.
  14. Re: My 2006 bow buck That is a beautiful buck!Congrats!
  15. Re: Finally got one Nice buck!Congrats!
  16. Re: Team 1 Yea,all week long the weather has been perfect, and I'm stuck at work working 10's.I'm going out tomorrow so hopefully the deer will be moving.
  17. Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Yea,there were a few good scraps in that game. The Blues handled the Avs last night 4 to 1.It drives me crazy how inconsistent they are.One game they look like a playoff team and the next they look like a junior team. They played Dallas,Colorado, and Anaheim and came away with 3 points from 3 tough teams.
  18. Re: Off to Illinois Good luck!I hope you get a nice one!The weathers been cool, and it's killing me to have to be at work these last few mornings.
  19. Re: what to do? I've never really had a lot of luck ratteling. I've had some luck using a doe bleat followed by a few grunts during the rut.
  20. Re: Nice Ill 8 pt. 138\" Congrats to your buddy! That's great Illinois buck!
