Re: fletching/nock color I use an orange knock with white wraps and 2 white and 1 orange fletching on my aluminums.It's amazing how much better you can see the arrow with the white.I'm putting white on all my arrows from now on.

Re: IL Phone check-in I agree with Smitteken 100%.The politcians up in Chicago are going to ruin our herds with their greed. I never minded going to the check stations since I don't process my own meat and have to go to town to drop my deer off anyways.I guarentee there will be a lot of little bucks shot and checked in with doe tags.A lot of people say it frees up the rangers to police their counties better,but my check stations were never even run by rangers,they were run by students or processors. When I checked my doe in over the phone, I had to listen to my confirmation # 5 times to see if the guy said V or Z.I still don't know if I got it right!The pin deal is the pits to.Needless to say I hate it.

I don't race,but I love dirt track racing.I help out a few buddies with modifieds and late models whenever I can.I like asphalt racing,but in my book it doesn't compare with a good dirt track.

Re: Winchester 1300 12gauge. I've used my 1300 for everything from pheasants to turkey to deer.It is a little heavy for upland birds if you are going to have to walk all day long,but mine is very reliable,and I haven't had a problem in the ten years I've had it.
