Re: Vermont Bans Harvest of Spike Bucks I have mixed feelings about this one too.I agree with Bow Hunter Derek that a 1 1/2 old deer can have any where from 2 to 8 points and the majority of bucks will have little more than buttons their first year.I also think it seems unfair for someone that doesn't get a lot of chances to bag a deer would have to pass on a spike,even though it would be a trophy in their mind.I know QDM is essential in growing nice bucks,and I do it myself,but I'm still not sure if it should be state mandated.I don't want to shoot younger bucks anymore,but I have in the years past and I don't look down on someone doing it.We'll see how it works out.

Rocky makes some pretty good hunting boots.I've had a few pairs and can't complain about any of them.I also have a pair of Irish Setter hunting boots that I bought from Bass Pro.I think they're made by Red Wing and are a great boot at a decent price.

Second weekend in November, 2002.Prime time for the rut here in Illinois.I was in my stand until about 10 A.M. and got down and still hunted my way back to the truck.When I was about 150 Yards from my stand I here some leaves crushing in the thicket.I kneel down and see three bucks chasing a doe,so I throw a couple of grunts and a few estrous bleats.One of the bucks turns and walks broadside at twenty yards and I let him have it.He made it about 15 yards.A decent 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer.

Re: Hmiel in trouble again That's what he gets.He had a chance of a life time and a pretty good future ahead of him.He could've made the cup series in another couple of years.Wander what he'll do now.A lot of drivers would do just about anything to get a good busch ride.He had one and blew it.

Re: Bowtech Bows I bought a Liberty in January and like it a lot.It has got to be one of the smoothest bows to draw and shoot ever made.It has very little hand shock and a solid back wall.I heard a lot of good things about the Alleigence too,but I'm afraid to shoot one for fear I would want to buy it.

Re: NHL FALLOUT Can't blame ESPN one bit.Seems like the NHL and the players association made their own bed,and now they got to sleep in it.It is not good at all for the NHL to not be on ESPN.I was a partial season ticket holder for the STL. Blues the last three years they played,but doubt that I'll be doing that again for some time after the game comes back.A lot of people I talk to say the same.We'll see what happens,but right now things don't look good.

I think that Vickers has some talent,but just like a lot of the new drivers nowadays,he moved into the cup series too early.Most of the time it seems that a driver runs busch or trucks for a year or two and the owners pick them up and give them a cup ride hoping for them to be the next Jeff Gordon.Most of the time I think it does more damage than good.

Re: Danica Patrick I thought it was good to see her run so well and lead a few laps.I have to say I was pulling for her to win.I believe she is the real deal and will win her share of races.She is definately a great marketing tool for the IRL. I kinda wonder when NASCAR will start looking for there own version of Danica so they can boost the ratings make even more money.

Re: Hmiel in, Rondeau out of #8 Seems a little early to me.On SPEED last night Marty Smith said Rondeau was a quiet leader and JR. wants a crew chief that's also a cheerleader to fire him and the team up.I wonder if things don't improve who will be next on the list. I remember watching the JR. interview on Dateline about a year ago when JR. said he would rather run bad with Eury Jr. as the crew chief than run good with anybody else. I hope the crew chief change makes a difference and gets JR. to run up front,but right now I don't think we'll see much of a change.

Re: ALL Star Race Bliss did deserve that spot,but stuff like that is bound to happen in that situation. Joe and Kevin just have bad blood between the two of them.That deal wasn't really anybodies fault imo.When your racing that close it doesn't take much to spin a few cars.It was good to see two guys show some real emotion and share a few words when they got out of their cars after the wreck.
