I have to work a few hours in the morning tomorrow. Emma has softball again this weekend. 3 games Saturday & Sunday play until we loose. It's going to be another hot one. Normal high is 85 and we will be close to the century mark the next few days. We went from the coldest month on record in April to one of the hottest in both May & June. Blah.

Sweet! Looks very cool. I'm always looking for new ideas for my euro mounts.

Well, after a couple of weekends off it's softball for us this weekend. No Friday games on the schedule so we are going to dinner tonight with aunts, uncles, cousin. Saturday & Sunday will be spent at the ball fields in Arnold, MO. It's going to be hot with a chance of thunder storms each day, so we'll see how mother nature cooperates. It's been very dry here the last few weeks, so I'm going to skip mowing the grass until we get some moisture. How's your weekend shaping up?
-
Yep....the video came through fine Frank.

No softball this weekend, so it looks like my weekend will consist of doing stuff around the house. We may to go the Horseradish festival a few towns over tonight for some food & drink, and have a BBQ to attend on Sunday afternoon. Going to try & enjoy our last off weekend before Emma's summer softball season kicks into full swing. What's your weekend plans?
-
It is a long weekend with most people being off Monday for Memorial Day. What are the plans? We actually have a softball free weekend, so a little free time for a change. I plan to mow & change the oil in my truck tomorrow morning. I am putting a little batting cage in the unfinished part of the basement for the kids, so may get started with that project. My sister has her pool open and the water is warming up, so we are going over there for beer & barbecue on Sunday. Monday we might just chill at home and enjoy the day off.

Cool video Frank! He came strolling in like a boss lol.

I definitely like the semi-upright pose if space is not an issue. It gives a little better perspective of the girth & broadness of a big bear like yours. Kevin is a good dude. I've been taking my critters to him for about 15 years now, and most of my family has taken things to him as well. He has my buck from last fall for a euro mount right now. Not sure if he gave you a time frame, but a white tail shoulder mount is typically about 8-10 months. Ha has done some very cool stuff. Glad to hear your buddy got a nice bear too! Sounds like a great trip all around. Did you get any fishing in since you were done so early?

If the rain stops Emma will have another softball tournament Saturday & Sunday about an hour away. They have 3 championships and a second place finish in her last 4 tournaments. As cool as that is we have yet to be home before 10 at night on a Sunday lol. I've been dragging butt on Monday mornings. Not much else going on. My cousin is having a bachelor party Saturday afternoon that I plan to drop in and visit with between games. It's more like lunch & drinks than a bachelor party so pretty low key.

That would be an awesome life size mount.....that sucker would take up a little room though lol. No idea what that costs, but my taxi has done some full size bear mounts I believe. Although he's not the fastest around, he does good work & generally has reasonable prices. Gilbreth Taxidermy in Pierron.

Wow congrats Frank! That is a nice, nice black bear.

Get this party started Frank! Good luck! That is gorgeous scenery of the lake.

Hah...you beat me to the check-in thread Muff lol. Glad you get the weekend off! I wish I could say I was blessed with a good mother, but I got stuck with the polar opposite lol. My Grandma was my motherly figure, and I miss her every day....a great woman. So this weekend we have.......softball. Emma got asked to fill in for a team that is short a few girls because of injuries & track regionals going on. Tonight I will be mowing, and Evan has ball practice tomorrow morning. After that we are heading to the tourney. It looks like a hot one with near record high temps. We went from winter straight into summer.
-
Been too busy hear too. I use to shoot in year round in leagues, but 3 kids have cut into any free time I used to have lol.
-
Be safe & have fun Frank! Can't wait to see some of the pics.

The first weekend in May is upon us, & spring has sprung here finally. What's the weekend plans? Emma has a softball tournament... surprise lol. She only plays Saturday & Sunday, and it's in our town for a change. They ended up winning the championship last weekend in one of the toughest tournaments around, so I anticipate them doing pretty well again this weekend. Tonight my sister is having a little get together/happy hour. My cousin is in town from California, so looking forward to seeing and visiting with him. Sunday my nephew is getting confirmed. I am also his Godfather, so pretty proud of him and wouldn't miss it. It looks like a busy one for us.

It looks like a fairly busy weekend for us. Emma has a tournament this weekend. One game tonight, two tomorrow, and elimination play on Sunday. This one is only about 45 minutes from home so we get to sleep in our own beds. Evan has baseball practice tomorrow morning, and his first game of the season is Monday. I'm sure somewhere along the line some wild animal will be cooked with fire and a beer can will be opened. The weather looks a little chilly, but some nice sunshine will make up for that. How are everybody else weekend plans shaping up?
-
Good luck with the turkey birds! It's finally spring here as well! I'm going to grill some meat of some kind tonight and have me a beer or two. Planning on mowing and going to batting cages tomorrow. Sunday Emma has a couple of softball games as long as the weather holds out.
-
That a way Frank...congrats! It's been a chilly turkey season so far. Did you come across any mushrooms?
-
Not much on our agenda this weekend. No softball this weekend, but Emma wants to go watch some of her friends play in a local tournament. Tomorrow she has umpire school....it looks like this summer she is going to have her first official job as an umpire for the local rec league. Evan has baseball practice in the morning, and our 4 year old got his first birthday party invite for one of his little buddies. Sunday I have some things to do around the house. It looks like some rain moving in at some point so another gloomy weekend. Your turn.
-
I think we had more snow in April than we did in December here. The last three days we finally broke through with above normal temps. Suppose to be in the 70's today & tomorrow, and cold front rolling through on Sunday will have lows back into the upper 20's. Freezing rain sucks to deal with. We've dealt with that quite a bit in the midwest. Stay safe!
-
We got a little dusting of snow last night. Hopefully that's the end of that. It looks like normal spring temps will be moving in late this week...bring on the 60's!
-
Glad you are finally getting some answers William. Now at least you can get some direction on what the little guy needs to help him and relieve some of the stress. Most initial diagnosis for just about anything these days is the "low hanging fruit" which tends to be wrong quite often.

Time for this weeks Friday check-in. What's everyone's weekend plans looking like? My daughter has hitting tonight. It looks like I'll have to work a half day tomorrow, and will probably do some things around the house in the afternoon. Sunday my daughter was supposed to be in a softball tournament up in Springfield, but they cancelled it yesterday due to cold temps & a chance of snow. I might do a whole lot of nothing Sunday if the weather is crummy.
