  1. Bass pro for me too. They're way cheaper than the local pro shop.We have a Cabelas and Bass pro in St. Charles,Mo,which is fairly close to me,so sometime's I can compare prices between the two to save a little green.I have bought a few things of ebay, but you really have to watch the shipping charges.
  2. Happy birthday eh! Hace a good one Steve!
  3. Good luck with the new business! Not sure if they make the orange snow fence that high, but you could just zip tie one on top of the other to get the height you need.
  4. That's horrible.Prayers for his friends and family. My dad died when he was 40 also...that's way to young to go.I really feel for his wife and kids.
  5. You should have a blast! Our dart/pop up combo league just ended, and with dirt racing season getting started we didn't sign up for the spring league. Make sure you take an extra arrow in with you.It took us a couple of weeks of running back and forth between shots we figured that part out.Every so often you'll get an "arrow not detected" and you'll have to re-shoot.It also doean't hurt to pay attention when other people are shooting. The kill zones aren't always perfectly accurate, and by watching you can pick up on where to shoot the ones that are a little off.
  6. Happy birthday Tom!Hope you have a good one!
  7. My brassica plot didn't hardly get touched this year either.I'm not totaly giving up on it though. From what I've read it may take a couple of years for the deer to aquire a taste for them. This year I'm doing about half as much brassica and more winter peas, and I'm mixing in some oats or wheat with them.Between this and a clover/chicory plot I'm putting in hopefully I find something that the deer like.
  8. I've seen two shatter in my winter league.I'll stick with aluminums a little longer.Good thing you found it when you did.
  9. This makes perfect sense to me.I've been wandering for years why we are paying top dollar to foreign countries for something we have right here at home.
  10. I buy most of my accessories from Bass pro.The pro shops around here are all quite a bit higher pricewise.Up in Minnesota you may want to check Scheels or Fin and Feather. By the way, welcome to the RT forums! What part of Minnesota are you from?I use to live about 30 miles from Mankato.
  11. I believe when the time comes to buy a bow for my daughter I'll probably spend a little extra money and get her a bow she could maybee at least hunt small game with. The Genesis just wouldn't seem to fit the bill.I would want something that you could adjust to fit her properly. By the time your oldest out grows and is ready for an upgrade ,the next in line should be ready to take that bow over.
  12. Congrats on the job!Sounds like things are going pretty good for you!
  13. I sure hope it's not to late!As a person that participates in a few of these hunts a year it makes no sense!Like the article says most of,if not all, of the funding for this comes from the fee they charge you to hunt the controlled properties,so I don't buy blaming it on the budget one bit.I think I dislike Gov. Blago more and more evry day. I have three controlled pheasant hunting areas within 40 miles of me that are filled up every weekend, and I see most of the meetings are up north around Chicago....imagine that.
  14. I've heard from a few people that vanilla attracts deer, but never tried it myself.I've never smelled anything like vanilla in the woods and I usually just use cover scents that are natural in the area I hunt.Fresh earth and coon pee are about it for me.It would be interseting to put a trail cam up by a bottle and see what happens.
  15. From my understanding it takes a few months for lime to do it's work.I believe Gain is supposed to work quickly, but is short lived in the soil,so lime will still be needed for the longer term.I would say if you lime in the spring by late summer you should be good to go with out Gain.If you are wanting to plant spring or early summer then it might be beneficial.
  16. Not sure how,but the Blues beat the Habs last night. The Bluenotes played a pretty decent game finally.

    What Bow

I shoot an '04 Bowtech Liberty.I'll probably shoot it for one more year.Hoping to replace it with a Black Ice or a Tribute.
  18. Sounds like you might have a bad breaker. We've ran into that a few times over the years.I would just pop a new one in and see if that fixes it.
  19. Yeeash. That's tough. It's easy to get careless on a sled.I no plenty of people that hit culverts or poles.Gotta be carefull out there.
  20. Sweet! That's one race I would like to go to sometime in my life.
  21. Sweet!Congrats on the new camera!I have the Moultrie d-40, and for the price it's been a great camera so far.

    Crimson Talons?

I switched to them from expandables a few years ago and have had no problems. When they first came out the blades were a little thin, but they fixed that problem a few years ago.On my set up they fly just like my field points and leave a pretty wicked hole.I haven't had a deer go over about 50 yards yet.The only down side is removing them from a target.I always practice with field points, and usually just shoot the broadheads a few times to make sure they're still on before the season starts.
  23. I usually have two cups a day.If it's a work day I have a big Team Realtree to-go-cup that holds two cups that I bring to work with me.I enjoy the aroma and the taste, but the caffeine doesn't really affect me at all for some reason.
