Agreed, went out today and didn't see a single deer. Heard very few shots around as well. Don't want to complain too much, the first 3 days were just about perfect and we had a great first 3 days.

Uploaded my photo's to the thread today. Looks like that will move us into second. I have been out for the 2nd shotgun season in IL, but its been real slow. Seen a few. Good luck everyone!!

You need to shoot them both to see what fits you the best, but I think Mathews is the smoothest shooting bow out there.

My dad, brother, and I purchased a farm in Southern Illinois back in the spring, so this is the first shotgun season that we have hunted our new farm and it was a memorable one. Friday afternoon around 12:40 my brother had this guy come by chasing a doe. This is the first deer killed off of our farm! [ATTACH=CONFIG]13006[/ATTACH] Saturday morning my wife shot this buck! [ATTACH=CONFIG]13007[/ATTACH] Later in the morning my brother shot a button buck and my dad killed a doe. [ATTACH=CONFIG]13008[/ATTACH] Sunday morning was my turn. This buck came by me Sunday morning. [ATTACH=CONFIG]13009[/ATTACH] It was a very memorable weekend for us, gun hunting our farm for the first time. Saw LOTS of deer and killed a couple nice bucks. I hunt Southern Illinois and I agree that they haven't really starting doing to much rutting activity. I do think it is very close to kicking into high gear thougt. I hunted Nov. 4 - 12 and saw no real rutting activity to speak of. Last Tuesday evening I had a 150 and probably a 130 traveling and feeding together. There were seveal does that fed with them and passed by them and niether one of them paid any attention to them. They were concerned about feeding not the does. I did see one nice buck trailing 2 does, but he wasn't pushing them, just following 50yds behind them or so. I hope that this weekend during gun season that they are chasing.

Primos has great customer service. I'm pretty sure I've seen that on here before, but they are great. I had a trail cam out for about 3 months and it would have hundreds of false triggers. It would take blank pics every 35 seconds or so for hours upon hours. I contacted Primos and they asked that I send it in to be checked out. I just got the replacement today and I sent it in early last week. Great customer service. I will be buying Primos products in the future!

Been hunting a few times in the last week or so. Seen plenty of deer, but nothing big yet. Checked out cameras yesterday and have several nice bucks up and moving in daylight hours so the action should be picking up soon. Starting Sunday I'm off for 9 days and plan to be in the stand every day. So hopefully something exciting happens. Good luck everyone!

I think I'm going to take Nov. 4 - 12 off to bowhunt, then work the 13, 14 & 15. Shotgun season then opens the 16 so I will be off that weekend to shotgun hunt.

If you could take 9 or 10 days off in November to hunt the rut what dates would you take??

Hunted the last couple days and saw a bunch of deer. A lot of small bucks and a few does, but nothing on the ground yet. Had a good 8pt come through this morning, but he stayed 80 yds out or so. I will be back at it this weekend, but looks like it might rain and is going to warm up. Good Luck Everyone!

Spent my first couple days in the woods on Monday and Tuesday. Saw a bunch of deer, but all small bucks and the does stayed out of range. Hope to get back out early next week. Good luck everyone!

I agree, I don't believe they are the same deer. The first one has a bigger body and I think the first one has longer G-2's than the second buck. Hopefully going back to the farm Tuesday to pull the cards again. Hope I have more pics of him. Thanks for looking guys.
