Checked out cameras for the first time yesterday and had a pic of a doe with her young fawn. This little guy couldn't have been more than a couple days old!

Love the duck scene. The mounts and the scenery look awesome!! Great job!

Ended up getting a yamaha grizzley 550 and got an awesome deal on it at that. Also got the swisher trailcutter pull behind mower. Went out the other day and mowed one of the small fields on the property and it worked just as it should. Mowed it down and had no issues what so ever. Still looking at disks and such, but so far a good start. Thanks for all the info.

Wish I was, but have a baby due any day. Went a few years back and really enjoyed it.

Lynn, thanks for all the links, I appreciate the help. Have you any experience with any of the brands or which would you recommend?? As you know this stuff is not cheap and I'm just looking for some recommendations so I don't spend a lot of money on a bad piece of equipment. Thanks again.

We recently bought a piece of property and have a small amount of field that we need to mow as well as a piece that we would like to put a food plot in. Has anyone used any of the atv tow behind mowers or plows? How did they work? Which ones do you recommend and which ones should we stay away from?? Any input on atv implements would be much appreciated!

Illinois gun season was good to us. No monsters, but we all killed a buck and now have some good meat in the freezer. My wife who was 6 months pregnant during the season shot her 4 pt opening morning around 7am and made a perfect shot on him. I was sitting with her and around 830 am we had another small buck come by. I put a good shot on him and we both had sm bucks on the ground. We saw 8 deer that morning including a good buck, but he never got close enough and also had a doe at 10 yds that busted us at the last minute. The last pic is of my dad and his nice 7 pt that he shot opening morning of second season. I was sitting about 25 yds from him that morning and got to watch the whole thing. The buck came down the ridge and across the bottom to within 15 yds when my dad smoked him. I was happy to just see some deer and get one on the ground considering bow season was extremely slow for me. I only had one sm buck in bow range all season and passed on him. Congrats everyone on all the kills and good luck to those still hunting!

Well here's our gun season. The first pic of me with my 5pt that I will have posted for points very soon. Just have to get my tag pic uploaded. The second pic is of my wife, who was 6 months pregnant during shotgun season and shot that 4 point. We were sitting together that morning and both shot small bucks. The last picture is of my dad with the 7 point he shot on opening day of the second season. I still have my either sex bow tag so maybe I'll get an upgrade, but not sure how many more hunts I'm going to get to go on this season. Congrats on the kills everyone and good luck to those still hunting!!

I haven't seen much activity in S. Illinois. No good bucks what so ever, but did see a few spikes and small bucks hanging around a few does this morning. There weren't chasing or dogging the does, but were following behind them about 50yds or so. I wish they would hurry up and get some of this corn out from around us. Good luck in IL everyone!

Well my week of vacation is over and no deer. It was slow slow slow. The weather was horrible, warm and windy almost everyday this past week. I'll be out again Sunday and Tuesday before shotgun season opens next weekend. Good Luck everyone!
-
Congrats on the kills guys. Hopefully I can add to our score pretty soon. I'm off the next 5 days and plan to spend a lot of time in the tree. It has been slow so far, not seeing many deer at all. I hope that changes soon. Good luck everyone!!
-
Congrats on the doe dave. I went out on Monday and Tuesday, but didn't see anything. Once again the weather was warm, pushing 80 degrees. I will be back at it Halloween and it looks to be quite a bit cooler. I'm ready for the cooler weather to move in and stay! Good luck everyone!

Congrats everyone on the kills. I've been out 3 times since season opened and have seen 3 deer so far, but nothing close enough yet. Going to try it again in the morning. I wish this weather would break and cool off...gets rough sitting out there with temps in the mid 80's. good luck everyone!
-
Congrats guys, way to get us on the board. Season opens here on Saturday and I will be in the woods Sunday - Tuesday. Can't wait. Good luck everyone!!

Now just have to wait for opening day. Went out today and got our last two stands hung and checked on all the ladder stands. Hope this cool weather hangs around!

wish it was nonstop. We don't own the land we hunt so no food plots and we had trail cams stolen so don't mess with those at this farm anymore. I would love to be able to plant food plots and check trail cams and make deer season a year long process, but right now it doesn't work out. I agree, bow season was horrible for us in Southern IL. We didn't even start seeing deer move until early November. I think the hot weather and the tons of acorns hurt the hunting a lot. I only drew my bow one time this year and didn't get a shot off. Shotgun season went really well though, we filled 5 out of 6 tags.

Well deer season has officially ended. Went yesterday and took down a few lock on stands and moved a few ladder stands to hopefully better locations. Also did a little scouting and looking around. Jumped 5 or 6 and saw plenty of sign in the area. Its all over until August when the lock on stands go back up.
