I just baught a new 25 gal spayer and was woundering if it would be better to spray liquid fert instead of spreeding dry on my monster mix. And what to get. Also how much paost will I need for a 2 ac plot.

Thanks for the advice guys. I talked to them and they said not at this time. So I asked if I could contact them at a later date and they said yes. I am thinking of waiting untill spring and sending them a letter.

There is alot of industry in this area and they have been making offers to this guy for years. This land is high dollar high demand property and developers have been throwing offers to this guy for years. This guy loved his farm and vowed never to sell out. I would't have either but he lived like a hermit when he could have had millions.I do know the property was owned outright because he inherited it from his mother so he wasn't all that poor. I heard his last offer was 6,500 an ac for the farm ground.Maybe they feel they would be doing right by him if they kept the woods at least, not to sure though. These old ladies know that they will never have to worry about money ever again if they sell. So I better offer to lease before they sell some and my money becomes chump change.

There is no oufitters in this area but this land is loaded with deer. On a cold winter afternoon you could see 80 to 100 deer in the 150acer farm fields across the street not all from these woods but most are. This land has never been hunted at least not legaly. The owner passed away 2 months ago and the olny airs are to old ladies and they want to sell the farm ground right away and keep the timber. I had asked a numder of times to hunt this but the owner was afriad of being sued if some one got hurt on his property. I got nothing to loose and If I don't act on it now some other lucky hunter will get it.

I am have been watching a piece of property for some time and want to try and lease it but don't have a clue as to what people are paying for a lease. Its 150 ac of timber and swamp. Does any one know how much land is leasing for. I am in north cental Ill.

to me 150 is a big buck but 170 and up is monster time.

The rut seems to be heating up hear in Ill. The last 3 days of hunting I saw some good bucks on the move.Anyone else experienceing rutting activity.

Every good buck I shot I used it to help close the distence. I 'll never leave home without it. There have been alot of times bucks act like their deaf to it though. It is just another tool in the bag of what ever it takes.

I cleand my gun after sighting it in but didn't put any bore butter in the barrel. Being stainles it shouldn't pit or anything shoul it.

should I fertalize my monstermix again in the fall or was the sping fertalizing good enough?

Well the flooding might have took a toll on my plot, but this monstermix must be tough stuff it is starting to come back to life.The only problem I have know is the tractor I use is broke and my plot needs to be mowed becuse the weeds are a 2 feet tall. Hopefully next week I can get at it. Should I fertilize again in the fall and or over seed. If so should it be just like the spring fertalizer application?

This plot is a year old and was real healthy looking.But now it's hard to even see any clover what you can see is matted down and dark brown and the chickory is mostly all brown and sickly looking. The weeds all made it through they look nice and green.

Well all that hard work and it's all over. We had 7inches in two days time and it flooded my monster mix.I don't know how many days it was under water maybe 3 days but it looks real bad. What do you guys think could it come back or no?

Ya I bet colts sit alot of starters as the bears with a healthy D would put a hurtin on them. Either way bears win.

not to change the suject but how do you like that bushnell. I have the 3.0 with nght vision and nothing tics me of more than when a big buck is within 10 or 20 yards and the pic quality stinks.

I used one to plant my monstermix plot and it worked great. I rented mine from gander mt. If you don't mind, how much did you pay for it.

I don't realy Know how many acers my food plot is exactly so maybe you all could help me out. It is a rectangular shape. It is 500 X 400 X 400 feet. Thanks.

First of all I realy want to thank you guys for all the advice you give on here it realy helps.I know now how much time ,money ,and hard work it takes not only to prep, plant, but maintian these plots and your advice saved on some of that stuff.Any way my plot looks realy good.I check on it twice a month and I see deer in it everytime.The deer are in there between 9am and 11am consitanly. I would recamend monster mix to anyone this stuff has made a huge diff on my huning ground.

Can anyone tell me the diff between regular shockwaves and the bonded shockwaves. Also I shoot realy well with the regular sabots and was thinking of switching to the super glides but was worried about loosing acuracey. Has anyone here used them.

The omega is very good gun but I will tell ya with a 150g charge and a 250g shock wave it packs a pretty good kick but you can handle it.The 150g and 250 bullet might not even be what you need to shoot you could use 100g with 200 or smaller bullet to get the acuracy or yardage your looking for. And as far as the kick you will only notice it at the range when harvesting a deer you wont even feel it. Good luck.
