Well I left the house at 3am got to my spot by 5am. I set up about 150yrds from their roost. After flydown I had 2 big longbeards, 1 jake and 1 hen come in to about 70yrds. But the hen change her mind and went off to my right. The toms and jake went with her. When the got about 100yrds away 1 tom got lucky. I got another tom to gobble a couple hrs later. He started to come then all went dead. After a couple minutes a yote was standing about 55yrds in front of me. The old smokepole sent a nice load at him. He fell half way down the ridge and crawled off. I tracked him for about 1/2 mile in the bluffs. I think he had to lose most of his blood, but never found him.
Got more birds gobblin a little later. Had a b-mobile out with 2 hen decoys. A real nice tom and a jake come in. The jake made it to about 40yrds but the tom stayed back about 60yrds. They ended up feeding off. About an hour later had 3 jakes come in to about 15yrds.
I think this is a year of the jakes for me.
