Re: New form photo...let me know what you think This is just what my opinion is (so you may not want to listen ) There are certain things that I can see but it is what you are comfortable with. 1. Bow shoulder is to high. relax your bow arm 2. If you look at your pic you can see you are leaning back a little, this is due to draw being a tad to long. 3. Like previously stated you release elbow can be higher than it is. 4. Readjust your release so that you are using the 2nd pad of your finger for the release and not the tip of your finger. ( this will also help with your draw length) It all just depends on what you feel comfortable with and what kind of shooting you plan on doing. I understand that some like the way they are shooting and that they dont need to change a thing because of this. However when things are set correctly and your form is good then your shooting starts to get better and better. This is once again just my personal opinion. Also it looks like her cam is out of time due to her draw length. The Hoyt Rintec has a large range of draw adjustment and unless she is shooting off the upper half of the draw then the cams will be in this position

Re: Range estimating Alot of guys like to find their 20 then work up from there, I like to find my 30, I feel comfortable finding that then working my way down or up. If you don't think it is 30 then you now know that it is between 20-29. If you think it is 30 or over then you can start using your 10 yrd increments. If you start to become comfortable with your 30 then you can start to pick out just how much further past 30 the target is.

Re: Uptight Cop.. Coming from my own personal opinion (yes I'm a cop) officers like this need to re-think the way they act. Being in the public eye on a constant basis your actions reflect on you and your fellow officers. I don't care if the person blatantly made a personal comment towards the officer there are better ways to approach them then saying things like "what did you just say boy" VERY VERY unprofessional. What do you think the other resturant patrons were thinking about that particular officer making a scene???

Re: 2007 Competition and Practice scores Went and shot the Holiday shoot in Council Bluffs yesterday, man what a fun shoot. Thought that I would be a little brave and shoot the Money class. Well I got lucky Ended up finishing 1st in the AMBHFS class and walked away with a nice check. I gotta say that I've had quiet the lucky streak going now. First the Iowa Pro-Am win and now this. Maybe I should retire while I'm ahead.

Re: Congratulations to Ultratec1 The holiday shoot is in Council Bluffs the 20,21st of January. You shoot a 360 NFAA and 360 Vegas. You can shoot both on the same day if you wanted (thats what I'm doing). I plan on shooting on Sunday 11:30- NFAA 360 2:30- Vegas 360. Should be a good time and a fun shoot. I thought about shooting the KC pro-am but can't get the time off for it and I hear that the Holiday shoot is alittle bit better for a turn out. If you want to you can ride over with me. Bus leaves early. (gotta work the night before) Let me know if you want to go.

Re: i am speechless! [ QUOTE ] This system seems to work in states and provinces where a hunter can buy multiple buck tags or where hunting is needed to maintain healthy deer herd size. In Montana we get one buck tag and like heck if I'm gonna give someone my tag for a deer they shot and never would I consider shooting a deer and then tagging it with someone elses. It does go on illegally here in Montana though all the time - there are people who really don't care to hunt, but want the meat and so they allow someone else to shoot a deer and then come get their tag. Even more shocking to me though, are some of the other things allowed in other states - such as little or no hunter orange required and allowing 6 year kids to hunt big game. I'm raising three boys and not a one of them was ready to safely handle a big game rifle at age 6 - I personally don't know a child that age that is ready, but many states allow it. Pretty wild! I believe the laws and regulations in Montana are some the safest and most ethically and morally responsible regulations in the U.S. Just my opinion. [/ QUOTE ] I'am very very pleased to see that Iowa has now started to change their age laws. My buddy took his 6yr old boy out hunting. Hunter (little boy's name) smoked a beautiful 8pt. Grosses somewhere around 130. I would be willing to make a bet that he can shoot that muzzleloader just as well as others on this site. He has practiced all summer long and is even better then most guys I know around here. Iowa use to have a age limit of 12yrs old. I think that is totally wrong. By the time they get to that age they have other interests than hunting. If people teach their kids the proper ways and take them out and shoot and understand the importance of safety then I don't think that ther should be an age limit anywhere. Oh by the way he SMOKED that buck at 70 yrds double lung shot.

Re: 2006 Competition scores Well it seems like my "new and improved" system is working for me. I went with logcabin and shot another 300 round. Well I dropped a X in the 2nd end then another the 7 end. Well everything was cruising right along and it looked like I was on my way to shooting a 58 when "it" happened. I was pulling my bow back and half way the release goes off and I smash a 2613 cobalt throw a sheet of plywood that was hanging from the ceiling. I had thought my d-loop broke but the release just went off. So I shot 4 more arrows and dropped 2 X's worrying if the release was going to hold up. Well on my 5th arrow it did it again and released at half draw. Did some re-adjusting and some quick praying that I wouldn't get punched in the mouth again and finished with a 56X. This new "thing" that I'm doing is working wonders. It's no secret and I bet alot of you guys already shoot this way but it is diffrent from what I normally do and it seems to work so far.

Re: 2006 Competition scores Shot on Monday night and was having a hard time letting the pin float. So I took a break and watched some T.V. at the range then tried something "alittle diffrent" . Not gonna say what I did diffrent just yet, I'll just have to shoot a couple more rounds and see if it works. I knew before I even released that I was dropping an X. I dropped 3 of them and finished with a 300-57X. It was real, real WEIRD shooting this way but it worked. It was pinwheel after pinwheel. I'll shoot another tonight and then again Friday and see what happens. Wish me luck I'm going to need it.
