The Cordoba house is what that Mosque down there is being called. Cordoba, Spain was conquered by the Muslims in the 10th century and a Grand Mosque was built over the largest Christian church in Cordoba. That is what conquering Muslims do. Erect a Mosque in victory. They very name of this place is an insult to America. Meanwhile a Greek Orthodox church across the street from the WTC, which was demolished by the events of Sept11th. Has yet to even be considered to be rebuilt by the community board in that same area that gave the go ahead for this Mosque . As long as a Christian or Jew cannot even enter Mecca. These Muslims have NO right to try and preach tolerance of other religions. This has NOTHING to do with religious freedom. It has everything to do with considering the feelings of the 3000+ lost innocent lives that day and not sticking a finger in Americas eye. It wasn't said they can't build it...just not there.

This gentleman is correct... http://politics.usnews.com/news/washington-whispers/articles/2010/08/27/epa-surrenders-to-nra-on-gun-control-issue-epa-rejects-attempt-to-regulate-lead-in-bullets-after-nra-protests.html This is exactly why EVERY gun owner should be a NRA member. We all benefit form their actions.

With the fall hunting season fast approaching, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Lisa Jackson, who was responsible for banning bear hunting in New Jersey, is now considering a petition by the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) - a leading anti-hunting organization - to ban all traditional ammunition under the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976, a law in which Congress expressly exempted ammunition. If the EPA approves the petition, the result will be a total ban on all ammunition containing lead-core components, including hunting and target-shooting rounds. The EPA must decide to accept or reject this petition by November 1, 2010, the day before the midterm elections. Today, the EPA has opened to public comment the CBD petition. The comment period ends on October 31, 2010. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry -- urges you to submit comment to the EPA opposing any ban on traditional ammunition. Remember, your right to choose the ammunition you hunt and shoot with is at stake. * There is no scientific evidence that the use of traditional ammunition is having an adverse impact on wildlife populations. * Wildlife management is the proper jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and the 50 state wildlife agencies. * A 2008 study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on blood lead levels of North Dakota hunters confirmed that consuming game harvested with traditional ammunition does not pose a human health risk. * A ban on traditional ammunition would have a negative impact on wildlife conservation. The federal excise tax that manufacturers pay on the sale of the ammunition (11 percent) is a primary source of wildlife conservation funding. The bald eagle's recovery, considered to be a great conservation success story, was made possible and funded by hunters using traditional ammunition - the very ammunition organizations like the CBD are now demonizing. * Recent statistics from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service show that from 1981 to 2006 the number of breeding pairs of bald eagles in the United States increased 724 percent. And much like the bald eagle, raptor populations throughout the United States are soaring. Steps to take: 1. Submit comment online to the EPA. 2. Contact Lisa Jackson directly to voice your opposition to the ban: Lisa P. Jackson Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, DC 20460 (202) 564-4700 Fax: (202) 501-1450 Email: [email protected] 3. Contact your congressman and senators and urge them to stop the EPA from banning ammunition. I just wrote my letter to Ms Jackson. I hope you do the same.

The best times in my life afield have been turkey hunting with my sons. They have been brought up in the outdoor life. The oldest Joe is a wicked turkey caller. He was working two toms in front of us and I had no intention whatsoever of shooting. It was all Joe. The toms were about 60 yards in front of us when out of nowhere, a big ole tom let out a thunderous gobble not 10' feet behind us. The bird was coming down on my side of the hill, Joe was on my left. The Tom walked down the hill turning his back to us when my son whispered and said "Dad I can't shoot across you, you take him". I raised the gun and the Tom was just about assassinated by me. The shotgun barrel was about 2' from the toms head when I shot. He went right down and Joe and I were crazy happy. The other is with my youngest son Mike this past April. Joe was calling, Mike was shootin. It was the youth hunt here in NY. I had the vid cam. Last Sept. I tore my ACL( had surgery and fixed it) so I was a bit slow and behind on the run n gun that they were doing on these Catskill mountain hills. I was back about 100 yards when Joe waved for me to get down, stay still and be quiet. I just got the cam turned on and was watching a Tom come to Joe's calling. I raised the cam and was mesmerized by the show that bird was putting on and forgot to hit record(duh). Mike picked up his gun, waited for the Tom to get in range and POW! One really big mature turkey down. 22 lbs 9" beard 1 1/4" spurs I wonder if it gets any better? Well maybe this deer season when I'll have all 3 of my boys out there in the woods this fall...all hunting;).

Happy Birthday Kyle... Hope Cash helps you blow out them candles .

I have always wandered about that too:D. I prolly should no better :taped:

Dogs are great ...its people that suck. The dog is just being a dog. Your issue lies with the owner. Since the guy is always taking stuff from folk's yards. Set him up to take something, and set out a trail cam or place a vid cam by the window recording. Hardcore evidence(pics) cannot be denied. Then call the sheriff. It is easy to take care of the dog, but it is the owner that is the problem. Good Luck.

Welcome...you'll like it here. A great place indeed .

What's your 'I'm hooked" moment for bowhunting?
Adjam5 replied to hoosierhunter's topic in Bowhunting
I started hunting with a rifle first in 87 and sat 6 years beofe I even saw a deer. The first one I saw...a forkhorn, fell victim to my 30/30. I took a few more deer over those early years and wanted more of a challenge. A co worker sold me a old bear Whitetail Legend 2, that was an inch too long on the draw. But I didn't know jack...paid $100 for it and I just wanted to deer hunt with this bow and those ole big telephone pole size aluminum shafts . I practiced often until I was confidant. Bought a Summit climber and I was on my way. My first day in the deer woods was a eventful one. I saw does fight, bucks spar, found out deer do look up:clown: and saw incredible amount of deer activity. None of which I ever saw when I was gun hunting. I picked out a doe and let my arrow fly...she went down within sight with a well placed lung shot. With all that I saw that day, my successful shot placement, the warmer weather and walking out my back door to hunt the woods behind my home...HAD ME HOOKED. I used that bear for a good 5 years until I moved on to a new Mathews Outback. This year I will bowhunt with my vintage(1964) Ben Pearson Javelina recurve. I have the bug bad to get something with the stick n string. -
Very good Flinty, thanks for sharing that...I work at Ground Zero and see it daily. The ignorance of the self hating Americans(mosque supporters) who are trying to spin this into a fight about religious freedom. Which it ain't (in my best NYawk accent). Many have gone soft and are afraid to fight. ANY difference of opinion is spun into racism and bigotry. No mosque near Ground Zero.

Great way to get acquainted...by breaking bread . Glad you guys had fun. Always nice to meet forum members .

She might think it...but never has said it. It is the main activity I enjoy with my sons all year round. She does not hunt or enjoy the outdoors AT ALL. She is a city gal with the city mentality. Afraid of animals, she never had a pet either outside of a goldfish. My wife likes the quiet time when the house is empty and we all are in the woods. Funny...I like the quiet time in the woods:clown:. The ONLY thing she complains about is... during bow season the downstairs looks like a camo bomb went off:D. We have gear(bows, boots clothes) all over the place drying and hanging up. That she hates.

No...Its Cheaper than Dirt! Glad to be able to help .

It sounds like there were a lot of people waiting in line for those doe tags to go on sale, and they were gobbled up very fast a few different locations. In the unit where I hunt here in NY. I apply EVERY year I get a doe tag or DMP(deer mgt permit) every 3 years. We build up points and when you have 3. You get one. Would you rather that system or the lottery type?

Yeah I agree...he is an OK guy . And Tim...you ARE the Ambassador of the Realtree forums. Everyone wants a piece of ya:D.
