Re: Hunting in the heat Keep hanging in there, we hunt in 80's and 90's in Montana. Put them down dress them and put them in the walk in cooler. Here in the east I skin, bone and put them in a cheap spare fridge I have in the basement. Stay cool and only do it if you enjoy it.

Re: The Daughters out there. Carlee and I set up on a fisherprice turkey we called in to the couch the other night. She took her little toy double barrel and smoked him, she got up and started running to him saying he was flopping.LMAO I don't know wether she'll hunt or not, but at 3 it looks like fun. If she hunts, she hunts. If not I'll screen the futer son in-law really carefully. She did go to Montana to hunt with me. Actually she went to see pappy, but she did go with us in the truck.

Re: I\'M MAD! time to go shopping I've been winded with a scent lock suit on after a shower in scent killing soap. I was also wearing a hood. I think these products help quite a bit, but I've been bow hunting for 22 years and shot alot of deer before the scent lock suits came out. Only sure cure for not getting winded is to hunt down wind. Good luck and I hope you find something that works. My brother in-law uses the scent lock suit in Montana, he saw a bunch of does and small bucks feeding directly down wind of him for an hour. A mature buck walked out, stuck his nose in the air and calmly walked right back into the woods. I don't think we fully understand the extend of a deers ability to smell us. lets face it we stink!

Re: LOVE BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your talking about the little lady bugs that come out this time of year, Ace hardware caries a spray that will kill them. We sprayed it on our windows and doors, also on the back 0f the house and cut down the invasion into the house by 80 percent. Bug Max 365 is the name of the product. Good luck

Re: Count Down to China No this is our second trip, we got Carlee december 2003. Here she is on a hunt in Montana with me.

Just thought I'd let y-all know the latest, Jill got almost all the paper work done for the adoption. Home study is going to be on Friday. Then we have to go to york pennsylvania for finger prints. That should be it, paper work should go to China by december. It will take approx. 5 to 7 months for us to get matched with Cadee ( God already has it lined up, he just has to wait on everyone to catch up.) After we get the picture of her, we wait about 6 weeks then board the plane. Keep her in your prayers, and us too. Thanks everyone, I'll keep you updated on things here as well as archery season.

Re: crossbow debate I think that if a hunter has a license and a tag, they should be able to use any legal method of taking deer. This sport has enough people against it from the outside, we don't need to be fighting amongst ourselves.

Re: what is the biggest whitetail ever shoot on here The bigest I ever shot on my property here in Pa. is a 20" 8 pt. scored 108. That is pretty good for around here. This buck is the best whitetail I took at in-laws ranch in montana.

Re: deer view mirror How do you draw on a deer if its right in front of you? I saw the comercial and I was always thinking that it would get in the way of shooting in that direction. Try a bycicalist mirror that attaches to your hat if you don't want to turn around.

Re: QDM ideas If your timber is to open, they won't feel safe. A QDM officer told me that I needed better coverage as far as conifers. Need more wind breaks. I manage 600 acres with 6 food plots. Need more cover on my place. We're timbering again as well as putting in wind breaks.
