  1. Re: Blue Tongue? Out at our ranch in Montana we find alot of really big bucks that died of blue tounge. It is a paracite that is incubated in the mud of dried up water holes. usually occures in dry conditions. Had a case of it in pittsburg pa. couple of years ago. Not pretty.
  2. Re: First Doe Of the year! Hey strut, I didn't know you were a chimney sweep. DO you charge by the hour or do bid work. I have a chimney that needs cleaning. *LOL* Nice deer by the way.

  7. Re: 2nd Annual PA get-togehter I'm interested, will be honest though. don't know if i'll be able to make it. Thats close to rut time, and I don't spend much time at home during the rut.
  8. Yep, you guessed it. I'm now a four pt. I think I'll strut around the field and stick my chest out. you wait till the ladies see these. Woops, here comes a monster buck. they can't see me, they can't see me, they can't see me.

  10. Re: What\'s your anchor point? [ QUOTE ] You guys are going to think this is weird: I draw my bow back as far as it will go, back off a little, then make sure my kisser button is at the corner of my mouth. Then I center my pin in my peep and let 'er fly. Not textbook, but effective. This is one area I think I could use some more work on - a consistent anchor point. I also don't wait once I find my aim point: once my sight hits it, the arrow is gone. steve [/ QUOTE ] Careful pit, that style promotes target panick. You should be able to hold your pin on the target 3 to 5 sec. before starting you squeeze. not condeming, just stating a fact.
  11. Re: What\'s your anchor point? Pinky nuckle on my ear lobe. shoot a thumb triggered release

    First Kill

Re: First Kill Great job SC, my first was 22 yrs. ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. This moment will always drift into your mind every time the geese start honking in the fall.
  14. Re: Archery from the ground?? I have never had so much fun as hunting archery on the ground. It is a rush like you can't believe. I took a doe 2 yrs. back at 6 yards off the ground, that was great.
  15. Re: Want laugh hysterically? I said it before, and I'll say it again. *STUPID PEOPLE SHOULDN'T BREED* I can make that statement, if y-all recall, I adopted.

  19. Re: Practicing with broadheads Young man came to my house the other night and was getting planning with the heads he was using.(not mentioning the brand) I had him shoot the wasp 100 gr. and the steel head 100 gr. both shot 4" groups at 60 yard. Check a smaller cutting dia. if your bow is set up properly and your still getting planeing.
  20. Re: what is the best bows out there The one you have, that you can shoot with pinpoint accuracy. Simple

  22. Re: wtb: old baker style climbing tree stands [ QUOTE ] I'm not exactly sure what a baker is. But I have an old API with the v-bars that I don't want. [/ QUOTE ] The baker was developed by the medical groups to increase buisness. They had a decrease in blunt force trama, and this was a great way to up the attendence at the ER. At that time no one used safety straps.
  23. Re: Ok Lets Admitt It! I hate to admit it , but I missed at 8 yards. Buck was working to me, had the opp. at 25 yrds and waited because I knew he was going right past the stand. when he got to 8 yards broadside with nothing in the way, no wind. I punched the release, threw my bow arm, jerked my head, and a couple of more things i can't remember. Shot over him. That was the most humbling one, I thought I was over the brain fade buck fever. *LOL*

    this is too funny...

Re: this is too funny... I hunted Chester Co. in pa, and that was the situation down there. People spend alot of money on there landscape, and don't want deer ruining it. But it is hard for a country boy to get used to hunting in someone's yard.*L* Good luck with that one though. Looks like you have your work cut out for you.
