  1. thats wxactly what Im shooting. 3 pellets and 250 grain shockwave. Im very impressed with mine..
  2. well I got the scope in, mounted and went to sight it in. Took a few shots, but i got it Zeroed in at 100yds. took the rangefinder out and set the target to 200 yards. shot the first bullet and it hit 1 and 1/2 '' high. not to bad IMO. seemed as if it worked out pretty good for my gun. Juat thought I'd let you guys know how it went.
  3. Well man, here is what I would do. Being that hunting is not gonna be fun(and safe) unless your comforable, Iwould only hunt out of your hang on stands. But keep the Ladder stand and practice with it untill you feel 100% SAFE and comfortable. That way you can hunt safely, face your fears and overcome something in your life that has obviously had an impact on you. And doing that will give you a great sence of acomplishment...
  4. I just ordered my new scope(Nikon BDC 250) for my muzzleloader, and have been slightly hearing something about a wielrd way of sighting it in. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, does anyone else use this scope and how do they like it? Accuracy?
  5. I used to shoot powder a few years ago, and recently in the last few years I've shot pellets(2). but this year i bought the Nikon BDC 250 and Im gonna be shooting 150 gr. so im gonna try shooting the pellets still first, and if it dont work then I'll go back to the powder
  6. I was wondering, for those of you that wear rubber botts as I do, do you tuck your pants in your boots, or do you pull your pants leg over your boots? I could understand of you wore scent lok(I do), that it might be ideal to pull your pants over the boot, but no one seems to do it(I dont). But on the other hand, rubber boots are supposed to be scent free, and if you spray them down, what could it hurt? your thoughts....

  11. I personally shoot 250 gr. , but if your already sighted in with a 200 gr. , and it shoots well... dont fix what aint broke!
  12. never heardm of that happening....kinda ierd.. but im sure that T/C will stand behind thier product..
  13. same stuff here as well. fits really well too..
  14. whew... lets see. Hunting trip=2900 out of state tags=411 scent lok suit=225 arrows=100 boots=119 bullets and powder=40 stands=300 $$ on bow equipment=300 home state tags=84 scents=@40 and im sure thres more that I cant think of right now
  15. Maybe its just the pic, but that first pic to me looks like a red oak also.. correct me if im wrong
  16. der will eat red oaks anytime, but do prefer white oaks over just about any othere food. the white oak has more of a coarse bark to it. google the image of one, it can be found really easy
  17. Revhard Virginia.. and we can only enter "one" deer? What if our state allows us more than one buck, and we kill a bigger bUck after we enter the smaller?
  18. that was the three blades only..
  19. Well, a broadhead is a broadhead, and thay are marketed as the best, not the best mechanical, or the best fixed blade head. So I think it was a very good test. Im sure thee is one person on here at least that is shooting Muzzys, and is thinking of shooting Rage's.. So IMO... I just did that person a favor.... And for your info, that muzzy is in GREAT shape, and flies as true as can be evey time. And are not worthless, but what is worthless, is the bleades on BOTH mechanical heads....
  20. Wall-Mart here. I know the guy in the Sporting goods, so its easy as can be for me..
  21. I mean i was comparing the plywood to a deer by no means, i was just looking at how well each broadhead held up in terms of strength. I will still give the old Rage two blades a try this year on a doe or something, but to me Muzzy just proved how tough a broadhead they can make...
  22. As said above, the rut will prolly be kicking into high gear, so bring some scents, (drag rag) and a grunt tube at the very least. If you got it bring a Can, and maybe a set of rattling horns. find a good funnel and sit all day!. I was told to try a decoy, as I will be ther that week also.. Good luck to ya!
  23. Sory for not haveing pics .We didnt know we were gonna be doing the testing. But anyways... So we tested the penatration of a few broadheads on a piece of 3/8 plywood. Behind the plywood was a Block 4x4. For our test: Three Blade Rage Muzzy 4 Blade 100 Rocket Sidewinder 3 And another 3 Blade head of unknown origin! We shot them out of my Switchback 63# and 29'' draw at 20 yards. I shoot Easton epic 400's in case anyone wanted to know the arrow. So... We shot the Unknown head first, which blew through the plywood and got about 4'' in the block. Then we shot the Muzzys, which did he same bout got about 14'' into the block! After that we shot the Rockets, which didnt even get through plywood and the blades bent all to pieces. So then (what I was looking forward to) we shot the Rage Three Blades.... Hit the board with a big THWACK. The head got about half way through the plywood and thats it.. Two of the three blades broke completely, and the actual head itself chipped a big piece off of it. I was deffinatly let down with all the hype on these things. Just to let you Muzzy guys know, I took that Muzzy and shot it through the plywood about 5 more times, all with the same result. And it flew as true as the first time I shot it. Prior to this test I wasnt partial to any of these head over the others. I actually shot the Rockets the last two years. And was planning on shooting the Rage this year. But I will have to say that I will prolly be shooting the Muzzys after today......
  24. Opens her first week of Oct. And I picked up another farm over the summer that I have been wanting to hunt for a couple years now, and have always seem good bucks in the fields. Also Im going on a guided hunt in Pike county this year, so Im really pumped about that.
  25. I think in order for calls like that to be afesctive, you have to have a really good deer population in the vecinity. If the buck /doe ratio's are off, and the bucks dont have to fight for them, then the deer in the area prolly havent heard that kinda sound before. So I dont think it would have that much of an affect on them. Just my .02
