  1. I agree with JimPic.. seems to give better depth perception. and in low light conditions, you need all the help you can get!
  2. I was wondering if any one had any tips on paper tuning. Pics would be nice if available. I think I shoot pretty good,(groups and all) but sometimes I can see my arrow "wobble" a bit. Was hoping that paper tuning could fix that, but Im not sure at all on how to do it. thanks in advance fellas!!
  3. around your area it will prolly be the last week of Oct. depending on the moisture of it.. Like said before, it has to be somewhere around 15%-17%
  4. only reason i asked was because nowadays you know people get funny about others handling their food... lol
  5. honesly, thats what I thought I should do, but just wanted to get some input on it. thanks fellas
  6. Well I picked up a really nice farm to hunt, and the landowner told me all I have to do is bring him some fish since I live on the river, and he doesent have acces to it. So of course I told him no problem!!! But my question is, do i just give him a whole fish freshly cought, and let him clean it, ar do i clean the fish myself and then give it to him?

but ou can change it. it works out to about 52 calories per ounce in beef
  8. thats what I was saying earlier. Its how I killed my eight pointer last year. Seems to work well for me
  9. lol thats funny...no I would change anything Im doing because someone else changed. nor would I start using anything cuase someone else is using it either.
  10. second pair here also.. wont buy another boot
  11. told ja I'd get bashed.. but he asked our opinion and I gave him mine. I dont feel I did anything wrong at all. And I never said they are a POS. And Just because they started it doesent mean they perfected it either. I think that CVA makes a really nice muzzle loader also, along with a few others. But thats my OPINION...
  12. +I know some people have started as guides, some in photography(behind the camera) and others were just writers in magazines. But those people knew what they wanted to do at a young age. Like taking photography classes in college or writing classes. They got there stuff published, and it snowballed from there. But Im sure some peole have just gotn plain ol lucky..
  13. keep your eyes in the woods .. When you start to notice a few scrapes, make one or two of your own. Usually the younger deer start to make them first, but the point is to get a line started, and keep an old buck interested in your spot. People will tell you that most all of field scrapes are done at night, and I will agree to some extent. But last year I found a secluded bean field that had prolly 40 scrapes around its perimeter. I hunted that field hard for two or three days, and saw only young bucks, but every night those scrapes were hit good.So i decided that i would dress up every scrape around my stand with buck scent every afternoon. That way by the time that older buck got there,HIS scrapes had already been hit. So instead of coming out late on the 4th evening, he came out about an hour earlier to see who was using his scrapes and my easton was waiting on him.So if you know that a buck is hitting those scrapes every night, put some buck scent in it a few days in a row to try and draw him out a little earlier..
  14. around here(VA) deer hit the beans hard until they start to turn. And then for about a week they dont touch them. The farmers around here say that as the beans are turning they taste really sour to the deer. But after they turn brown they hammer them again just as hard.
  15. will do man. Im so pumped about it. Its all Ive been thinkin about.Just dont wanna get let down is all, and its hard not to expect so much when all the media pumps this place up ya know.
  16. Gonna get bashed here I think.. lol .. but I cant stand a Knight. I think the D.I.S.C is just one more piece that can go wrong, and an un needed part.More to have to fool with. T/C has accomplished the same end result with one less part. And the ease of cleaning on a T/C is unmatched, bar non.Pulling th gun to shoulder,it fits, un like the lumbersome Knights. To me Knight is WAY behind the pack, heck I dont even think they are on the lead lap!
  17. good looking buck.. I have no idea about scoring. it hard to judge the horns in that picture..
  18. Thanks a bunch guys. I appreciate it alot. So i t seems that the decoy thing seems to work there. Where I hunt here it doesent work so Im not to familiar with using one. But I will deff give it my best shot. Cut corn huh.....Is there alot of soy beans there? Do the deer seem to prefer the corn over the soy beans? I guess Ill try a drag rag and do some light grunting and rattling. Thanks fellas!
  19. Ahhh the old fox body.. Im a huge fan of them. Have had 9 of them myself. Any thing dome to it other than cosmetics? They sure do have a sound all to themselves dont they!!
  20. Well I have a few question for you guys in Illinois.I will be going there this year for 5 days. The days I got were Oct.27-Oct.-31. My questions are, What can I expect out of the rut there? and how many deer can I expect to see while on stand? Also, will rattling and grunting work there this time of year? You guys that hunt there regularly, do you use scents and what scents are you using this time of year? What are the primary food sources there during this time? I mean are they hitting the fields or are there any acorns dropping? Any help or pointers you guys have would be appreciated... thanks fellas!!!
  21. this isnt the same show that is at the ShowPlace is it?
  22. what is the "Indian Mound spot".. and why do you say do this.. I have to stop of in Illinois and talk with Tony about coming out the week after my hunt. He has kinda offered me a job(trial position) as a guide in the Illinois outfit. but I will ask him if you tell me what this is about....
