Re: Question on plot for the x-perts i wouldnt use any thing to blow the leaves away, or you will blow all the new seeds away with it. just leave them thee and it will still grow fine, unless it is completely covering the plot.

Re: field points shoot good, broadheads not the problem is in the blazer vanes. those vanes are designed for mechanical broadheads. either change your fletching or change your broadheads. .. find a friend with mechanicals an shoot his broadheads. i promise it will make a difference

Re: how small is to small to manage lol i am part of a rod and gun club here in va and we have a bout 5600 acres in three different placs in lancaster county and we have been managing that club for years and it has worked great. i just picked up this piece(1400 acres) last year with a friend and we are gonna try to manage it ourself. oh well its worth a shot. we have got some decent deer on camera this year.
-
i was just wondering who on here manages there herd and how small of a tract have you managed and actually seen results from. we are currently trying to manage a 1400 acre tract for the second yer and seem to be seeing some results.
-
Re: close, but not able to connect how much land do you have for you to be able to manage. we have a 1400 acre farm that we are hunting this year and it will be the second year we are passing on bucks 16 inches and smaller. according to the trail cams we have kinda noticed a difference in the bucks being bigger this year. but its hard to tell. how small of a tract have any of you guys managed and seen results

Re: wrinkled vane i dint know you could use a lighter to get rid of the wrinkles. exactly how do you apply this magic trick?

Re: how many tags you get for hunting its funny here in va. as spanky said we get 3 doe tags and 3 either sex tags. thats for bow, muzzleloader, and gun season. but you can buy bonus tags for does only. also if you are a farmer and your crops are being eaten badly enough, you can apply for a slaughter permit, which allows you to shoot at night, year round.

as bowhunters we all will mis or have bad shots. lets hear a few . ill start. last year i had a doe and a small pointer coming to a bio logic field evey afternoon for like three days running. so i set up on them and decided if they show up that afternoon that id take the doe. well as luck would have it, it started to rain and the deer came pouring into the field. about and hour before shooting light ends, they show up. easeing into the field on a 30 yard trail, 1/4 ing away, i let it go, and as i do she steps forward fast. i nail her in the hindquarter.. she slowly tris to run out of the field, and as she dos i see my arow sticng out of her. i give her about 45 minutes hoping i hit the artery. start looking for blood and i get good muscle blood for about 75 yards then it just stops. about another 100 yards and she hits he creek and i lost her.. it happens. lets hear yours.

Re: Shockwave broadheads get a piece of scotch tape and cut the diameter in half, then tape it around but dont over lap it. i use to do this to my pucketts a long time ago and it worked good.

Re: chigers oatmeal bath. works great. also just scratch them and put alcohol an a q-yip and hit each one.
-
Re: Trapping thsi? lol man some people are really scared of those things huh.. at least its not those dang wood spiders that are draped across your trail every morning, and your flacash light dont hit them till they a on our face.......ugghhhh *willies*

Re: Biggest bummer good luck this afternoon. this year a friend of mine and myself were looking to find some more property to hunt. we knocked on at least 40 doors and everyone said no. then out of nowhere the next three doors said yes. 532 acres, 681 acres and then 30 acres respectfully. persistance pays off. keep your chin up and dress decent. thats the main thing.
