nothing big but i just decided it was time to purchase my non resident south dakota archery tags so that i could hunt with my old man. $300 got me two anterless tags ad one any deer. not a bad price.....more important are the memories to come out of it. and to add to it.......last minute i decided it's time to head back home tomorrow morning for 5 days! my dad definetly sounded surprised and excited....my goal is to have the two does down this week......waiting for the rut to shoot something with horns unless i get a shot at a P&Y this week.........so rifleman25 i will be back if you want to go out and shoot a little if you have time......

well it was a good day in my neighborhood.....the vikings won and squeeked out a victory and the twins are only 1.5 games back of detroit in the al cental...........where are all the twins fans at!??!?!?!

Re: $400 less wealthy thanks to a nice officer. he actually thought it was funny....i told him that i knew he was just doing his job and that i had no hard feelings......it's not that big of a deal...just a little money........that's why i got to work is to earn a living....he had somone else pulled over down the road a mile later too......it was weird.....i could never do that job.....lot of respect for them....sometimes routine stops like that end up tragic......most don't look at that little misfortune as a petty occurance....what bout all the good the police do right>

Re: $400 less wealthy thanks to a nice officer. you should have heard they guy........i told him i wasn't signing the ticket bc it meant i was pleading guilty....he told me that if i didn't sign it that he would call a cruiser down since he was a motorcycle cop and have me arrested.

so i went and cited my bow in today....on the way back from the archery range....i got pulled over for running a red light....which i was 3/4 of the way through when it was yellow......hello $100 ticket......on top of that he socked me with another $300 worth of tickets......both bc i still have a WI drivers license and that's where my truck is registered.........registration expires in oct which is when i was going to do it. instead i have 10 days and all the awesome fines......which hopefully i can get dropped.....just the bad luck for going to shoot my bow............ oh well......at least i am above ground.

Re: deer I found this morning i believe that blue tongue caused the deers tongue to swell up and they basically suffocate themselves or choke on it.... forget one of the two....they can't drink any water either.... but what i don't know is what it is derived from or how they get it.

Re: poundage i'm pulling 64 you don't really need much than 60 for whitetails.....we all know that it comes down to shot placement anyways.........it's not a contest to see who can draw back the most weight.....

Re: ? on Arrow Spine (Carbon) a good friend of mine that is an excellent bowhunter and archer for that matter........helped me get my bow 100% tuned this weekend........i shot a group of 5 arrows at 20 yards shooting at the same spot......the 6th arrow i shot was a naked arrow.........what we were looking for was that the arrow was entering at the same angle (straight in) as the previous .......it took one little tweak of the rest to have my broadheads and field points flying dead on up to 40 yards.....

Re: unusual game cam pics i seriously hate snakes! mainly just poisonous ones.....i guess the only way to get over my fear.......is to get confronted by one in the wild and WIN........rattlers are truly one of the ONLY things in life i am scared of.......

Re: ATTN: Michael Waddell michael is probably my absolute favorite "celeberty" hunter if you may......he's so emotional and into it.....every hunt in and out....he's not fake...he's real and you can tell by his facial expressions and words.......i really want to meet that man.....i find inspiration in my hunting through him.......lee and tiffany come in a close second.....michael is just a good ol boy' and i seem to relate with him better than most.....he just lives his life the way he wants to and doesn't care what other people think....he's not afraid to express himself as a hunter and conservationist....

just checked online the other day and my old man and the rest of the hunting group drew antelope tags....bad part is.......it was our second choice which was 2 does! tough to make an 11 hour trip to hunt the does......only because it's VERY hot in western SD the last week in sept......we went last year and it was over 100 everyday!!! the next week it snowed over a FOOT!!! so needless to say on wasting meet that may rot due to the inadequate heat i don't think that i will be making the trip this year.........there are TONS of leftover doe tags....but nothing for bucks.........it's nice to make that trip and get after something with horns.....good news is that we got a year preference on the buck tags for next year....!

Re: Be careful with you Broadheads what kind of broadhead was it? i'm going to have to say go to the docto ASAP.....i dropped a 50lb rock on my foot when i was working construction and i waited 2 stinkin years to get surgery on it and boy was i regreting it!!!! then the doc mess'd it up and i had to get surgery 4 months ago again!!!! the doc told me that on a scale of 1-10 that my problem was an 11 because i waited so long..........truth be told.....go NOW!!!! you thought that cleaning it out hurt>? just stinkin wait until it gets infected like mine did and they are shoving needles in all your toes and all over your foot to numb it!!! that was the worst pain i have every physically felt......
