haha look at all these mixed reviews, who's a guy supposed to believe? haha jk...thats why when i read the reviews and someone gives it a 1 out of 5 and the majority give it a 4 i always am curious if thats someone trying to bash the other brand......i wish they would combine all 3, the allison tranny, cummins motor, and the ford chassis. then that would be a truck i would buy.

thanks for the info, call me bad, but i like the loud diesels and the smell. part of me says they should sound like a semi.....i like to hear the power, which is why im going to look at one of the "older" models that dont have as many restrictions on them.......i want it to be loud (tastefully not obnoxious) and i want to smell it.....i will take all this into consideration.
-
nick what kind of mileage are you getting?? i did test drive one a while back, and i wasn't thoroughly impressed, the dodge actually got the best review in my eyes......i tell ya what, i will keep doin my research and i will look into the duramax.....if it's as good as you say it is

put a lift and some tires on it, and i might call it aesthetically pleasing, at the most. haha.

man, snakes.......i've gotten over alot of fears in my day, and continually do it just to prove to myself i can do whatever i set my mind to....i have learned to accept them. they are ALL over where I antelope hunt.....however i have NEVER ran into a rattler......if i do? tough to say.....i like to say back away, but i have always wanted a snake skin......so i guess if i feel threatened, then i take action.....i had one about 2 months ago on the bike trail jump and try and bite me in the leg, granted it wasnt a rattler but i had no time to react. there are mountain lion sightings too where i hunt, but i've seen tracks in the snow......but never had an encounter....if i do, and get attacked, survival mode, but if for some freak reason, i were to die from a snake bite, or a mountain lion, at least i died doing something i loved and lived my life and was out there regardless of a "fear"

yuck i just threw up in my mouth a little bit, please make that go away jk

ok so all the 7.3l powerstroke fans email ford and tell t hem to get that motor back ok?
-
yah, performance and reliabilty are important, probably more so than looks. im a ford guy, but have looked into the cummins for the simple fact its a better motor....how does your 6.0l f-350 run?? i didn't hear many good things about that motor, and im hearing people are running into a lot of electrical problems with them....and to be honest i am looking into an older (late 90s) cummins, won't have to spend as much and i think those are some bad trucks......
-
if you want to see a nice truck......go to www.youtube.com and type in camo vs smarty
-
you should look on youtube at the 6.7L exhaust sounds, and some of the guys on there have some pretty sweet sounding systems on theirs....do you prefer the 5.9 or the 6.7?? im going to go the used route, you can pick them up barely broken in for a 50-60% discount than new.........just makes more sense to me...any pics of your truck mathews??
-
was 07 the last first year of the 6.7l?? I am thinkin about going with the 5.9l, i seem to be hearing more good things about that.....i've been looking at some 06's and you can pick one up for about $25,000 with 25,000 miles.....i think i am going to look for something that already has some add on accessories so i dont have to shell out the extra money
-
any of you cummins owners have an aftermarket exhaust??? i have been researching them and alot of guys just go straight pipe and it sounds good, but i have been looking at MBRP, what y'all have???
-
haha, the F series IS the best selling truck in america.......and ford has the best re sale.......75% of the trucks on the road where i am from are fords......i guess people call powerstroke powerjokes, and duramax duracrap, so i guess the only one nobody is talkin bad about is the cummins, hahah....maybe thats a sign.
-
wondering why i cant get it to work???
-
the other thing about ford i like is its a little easier to get a lariat, more of them on the road, where as the cummins are mostly slts and not laramies. imo if you are going to spend the money on it, might as well get the options.....
-
the ford is definetly a heavier truck but i feel its built so much stronger and sturdier. the dodge seems like its made out of tin. and are these 4x4?? im actually leaning a little more towards dodge. thinking about putting a nice exhaust on it. but no major mods, i dont want to put the added stress on the tranny and componenets.
-
someone would appreciate the grub! looks like a poor somalian child....i havent see a deer around here that looks like that this time of year since i have ever been involved in the outdoors.
-
i was curious who owned either of these trucks out there. im a ford guy....through and through, but im more impressed with the cummins than the powerstroke. ford has a better fram and tranny and interior in my opinion, but the cummins is such a good diesel engine. and it gets twice the mileage......anybody have a pic or video of their truck out there......im trying to get some more opinions.......i know from other research the tranny in dodges are pretty flimsy.......why cant they just combine these two trucks!! and no, i wouldnt consider a duramax, period!
-
hey i was curious who all out there had either a powerstroke or cummins diesel truck. im lookin into them. im a ford guy. but you cant seem to beat the cummins motor. i like fords style better, and they have a better tranny, but the cummins is better than the powerstroke and it gets twice the mileage.....i think fords frames are stronger, but its that dang engine that im concerned about. anyone have any pics or two cents on what they own.....and no i wouldnt consider a duramax, period.

i have found that the first time i hunt a stand the better opportunity i have had at a buck i have scouted....worked perfect last year......hung the stand after the morning hunt, went back at night, 15 min in the stand he came by, i just missed in my opinion the more stands, the more options and the less deer are going to pin point where you are at....
-
thats my two cents bud, try them....they have been around for a LONG time and have a good reputation for reliability and bone crushing power.....sometimes when it comes to hunting the best thing is to just keep it simple...and it my opinion muzzys are a simple, practical, affordable, and down right punishing broadhead....i might get frisky and try the 4 blade this year......MAYBE!
-
i think she needs to be harvested, poor gal looks like in rough shape!! not a good time of the year to look like that, pry won't make it through the winter, so might as well put some food on the table.
-
find one that works and stick to it.....my bow shoots amazing with Muzzys so to be totally honest bud, i am afraid to try anything new, i don't want to put my equipment at risk right now. imo if it aint broke don't fix it. through and through, im a fixed blade kind of guy with a properly tuned bow, you can't beat them. my dad, shoots mechanicals, he's not as good of shot and needs something to make up the difference. but when he shoots something, there's a hole and a blood trail. what heads are you considering after 3 pages of advice from everyone

i dont know what it is about those things, but they just creep me out, no matter what kind they are! and if they are venemous, see you later! i think it's cuz i got bit once.....same with spiders, hate them....brown recluse almost took my life when i lived in WI. i have never been in so much pain as i was then....still have the scars on my stomach to remind me of it!

i hunt private ground, we used to move around stands from season to season, but just called tree stands an investment, and decided to leave them up and if we find a hot spot to put a new one up, it's nice to hunt different stands too.......i've got several hundered acres to hunt, gun and bow.........and we have tons of stands......i just found it works easier to leave them up! plus i found a new stand that i LOVE, it's spendy.....but attaches to any tree, doesnt have to be a straight tree or anything and the seat is in the middle and you swivel.... friend of mine in south dakota has access to them......and i think they are a little of $200 each, but, for a quality and useful product you cant put a price on it.
