  6. Re: Cumberland County lost a good Deputy yesterday. sorry for the loss
  7. Re: This is terrible I can never understand people shooting when they don't know what they are shooting at. A deer looks like a deer period. A real shame that he didn't seek help. The shooter will have to bear that he killed someone the rest of his life. Hopefully behind bars. Accidents like that is what the anti's look at and react to.

    GOT ONE

Re: GOT ONE Congrats, good for you.
  9. Re: Got a squirrel and a few chipmunks today... Good job!
  10. Re: OPENING DAY (Happy Huntin ALL) That is so funny!!!
  11. Re: bunny hunters It's hard losing your dog. Two of my best dogs ever died several years ago within months of each other (old age). The first day rabbit hunting without them will never be forgotten.
  12. Re: Scrapes already I haven't been out but in NY they are most likely territorial scrapes being made this time of the year.
  13. Re: Really ticks me off!!! I would have to agree if it is during bow season, but during gun season I disagree. Two angry guys in the woods, two tempers flaring, two guns add up to a bad situation. Several years ago, We had, and still have, sole permission to hunt approx 180 acres of woods near the house so we decided to post the entire property. As we were posting, a man came out of his house, property butted up against his house, and started yelling that he was hunting the property for years and he was not going to stop hunting the property. So we asked him nicely that we do not want any problems, that we don't like hunting with strangers because we like to know where everyone is posted. He got so angry that he went storming into his home. Bow season finally came around, and I had climbed up this tree with my climber approx 300yds behind his house, nice spot but on our property, when I see him walking quietly in the distance, well that just ruined my night. I yell out to him and he came up to my stand with a shotgun in him hand and starts yelling how we disrepected him and that it wasn't fair because he has been hunted for over thirty years without incident. Now I'm getting a little worried because I'm up in the tree in my climber with a BOW and he is on the ground with a GUN and I didn't want to take the quick way down so I tried to difuse him telling him that I was going to get down so we can discuss the matter. When I finally got down, I got in his face and started yelling about pointing a gun at me while I was in the tree and about trespassing. I felt bad about yelling at an old timer but here I was trying to enjoy a nice bowhunt when this guy trespasses with a gun (he was telling me he was turkey hunting with a gun with a rifled barrel) Nice try. After the arguement I thought to myself that things could have really gotten out of hand and tragic. I ended up talking to a game warden and he had a polite conversation with the gentleman and he has not been seen on the property since.
  14. Re: What do you do While on Stand If you are doing anything else beside scanning your hunting grounds, you are not giving your hunt 110%. Majority of you hunters know that when those deer finally show up they make absolutely no noise. Weird, 130lbs deer making no noise. But its true. Concentrate on your surroundings so you can catch that glimpse of them you need to get yourself ready for that shot.
  15. Re: Throw my tatics out the window I was wainting for you to tell me that you heard gun shots!!! That would have ruined my morning.
  16. Re: Watching the sun come up on opening morning Sitting with your one year old, you had a better time than most of them in my book.
  17. Re: It finally happened! Sorry to hear it. I put a lock and chain around the stand and a lock and chain around each section of ladder and then tape it together so the chain doesn,t make any noise when the wind blows. It has not been stolen since.
  18. Re: If Realtree asked you to come up with a new camo.. Realtree Woodland Floor camo. I just love to hunt the woodland when its covered with freshly fallen colored leaves.
  19. Re: Another Saturday has arrived! Good luck to all and be safe.
  20. Re: Please pray... Sorry to hear that. Hope the person who finds it (if someone finds it) knows how to get in touch with you. Put up flyers in the area, peole's mailboxes.(I found my lost beagles that way.) I always said that there should be some kind of serial number on bows, just like guns. Would come in handy in a case like this. Good luck finding your bow.
  21. Re: Don\'t know what I should call this topic... I like #7, it has a lot of truth behind it.
  22. Re: Needing prayers and best wishes! Good luck with the check-up and you will be in our prayers. My father has a heart condition and I am always worried about his health and how long he will be with us. As I pray for him always there will be a few coming your way.
  23. Re: You know when your a Deer Hunter when............ your boss doesn't bother asking you to work overtime from Oct. to Dec.
