What do you want it for?
This is what I do when looking at lifts an bigger tires. Like you I don't worry about the gas but my Cherokee is my DD. well was until I started driving an old beater truck a month or 2 ago.
As she sits I have a 2 inch lift and 30x9.50 wild country mud terrians goes great. Am in the works here sometime of putting a 4 inch lift on it but who knows when and some bigger tires.
Anyway ask yourself what it'll be used for. If for mainly street drivin and no mudding or trail riding Im assuming then if you do go bigger throw the 33s it'll cost less. And those mud terrains don't last on the pavement. Your going to be lookin at over a grand for tires if those are the 17 inch rims. Know this because I've priced them. Not saying you can't find them cheaper for those 35s but good luck.
Also can you afford the replacement parts with the bigger tires wearing everything out. Plus other things.
Just a couple dumb thoughts from my thinking anyhow.
Other than that I say go for it.lol I like big tires
