  2. Not to be a spirit breaker but,,,, once they start finding receptive does they will forget all about scrapes..
  3. Yes it was, between a big thicket and a cut cornfield.
  4. My guess is he sat down on the trap i had it about 4 inches back from the hole..
  5. Look what body part i caught this guy by..
  6. sweet deer, a double throat patch is rare !! I`m surprised nobody noticed , thats a trophy all by it`s self..
  7. just pay for the shipping, i`ll do it free of charge..The only thing you`ll have to do is salt it really good and it will be fine..
  8. check with UPS see if your able to ship it, i`ll tan it for you..
  9. Mentally take your shot.. The more you have the shot pictured in your head the less of a chance you have of messing it up..
  10. Great job !!!But I disagree with the camo theory, you could kill a deer naked if your in the right spot and if you have the wind in your favor..
  11. A rocket hammerhead 100 grain.. He only ran about 40 yards when i heard him fall..
  12. 15 yard shot, double lunger, not a drop of blood !! The only way i found this deer was i heard him drop.. Not a 140 incher but i`ll take him none the less..
  13. I always heard that if it`s a hind leg it will affect a deers antlers.. The deer in this pic lost his left back leg from the knee down, it stunted the right side of his rack.. I shot this buck a couple of years ago... i personally wouldn`t worry about your shot affecting his antlers unless you did wing him in a leg..The spot you circled doesn`t look like a leg wound.. Just my 2 cents.
  14. If that is his own growth it`s growing the wrong way.. That sure looks like the skull cap from another deer..
  15. I shot a buck a couple of years ago in darn near the same spot, he diddn`t go 40 yards.. Thats one lucky buck if it`s the same one..
  16. I`ve only had 2 arrows break as a result of shooting a deer, both have been spine shots.. Neither have resulted in any meat loss.. Thus, nothing negative to say..
  17. From my experience, if you know the area you hunt, and you know the deer you hunt, and it shouldn`t be a problem for you to wait one out.. I had a problem with squirrel hunters spooking the deer i hunt to posted property (deer can read) lol, all i did was hunt a funnel close to the posted property and i started harvesting deer.. Use patience, think like a deer, and be as scent free as you can and you`ll harvest one..
  18. I catch myself saying, pick a spot aim and release pick a spot aim and release...
  19. anytime you walk across an open field you risk jumping deer.. Maybe you could pick an alternate route to where you want to hunt. Even if it`s a few hundred yards out of your way it`s your while..
