  1. Re: Antler Restrictions? I am in favor of the antler restrictions. I believe that some hunters want to hunt for meat, and some want to head hunt. The guys that want to trophy hunt are being short changed by the meat hunters because they have no issue shooting a fork horn or little basket rack. Forget all that nonsence, let the meat hunters shoot the does and let the bucks mature for the trophy hunters. I know hunting out here and the way you eastern and southern folks do it are different, but maybe they should impliment a lottery draw system like the west has. That way there are only a limited number of hunters out each year for the rifle season. This would take some pressure off the deer, limit the number of bucks and does killed to exactly what the states want. With this if you don't get drawn take your preferance point and put in til you do. maybe some folks would look foreward to their hunts more. Like I said before Ar's are a good way to get some age on the bucks which is needed to produce decent deer. If you want to hunt for meat take a doe tag.

    wanted

Re: wanted No need to get so upset. I usually find and sell between 800 and 1200 pounds a year on my ranch. I'll overnight some to you if you wanted. The price they go fo though I dont even keep very many for us to eat, but I'd send ya some.
  3. Re: Good gun for mom. The 6mm is slightly different than the 243 but not much. The ballistics are very similar and the bullet diameter is the same.
  4. Re: Good gun for mom. [ QUOTE ] I would agree a .243 would be a good gun for her. The 22-250 is to small for deer, if you want to go with something smaller try the .223 I know a lot of people that hunt deer with them and it does the job. If she is only going to shoot off her porch at close range how about a 30-30 they don't kick that much. [/ QUOTE ] The 22-250 and the 223 are essentially the same being 22 cal centerfire rifles. I believe the 22-250 is faster though.
  5. Re: Got drawn!! congrats on getting drawn. Good luck Rossman July 10th will be here before you know it. What Wyoming deer unit did you put in for?
  6. Re: Good gun for mom. I have used the 22-250 on many deer and antelope. If you are faced with a broadside shot or have the patience to wait for one, they are a fine round and lightning fast as well. I am a big believer in the 22-250 plus when she's done you have a great coyote round. I shoot the Hornady 58 gr V-Max bullets out of it for everything.
  7. Re: Back O\' truck or a trailer Mine goes in the back of the super duty.
  8. Today I took the short drive over to Dakota's house. I visited Dakota as well as met his parents. They are all very nice people. I showed up around 1 :00 this afternoon and we ended up talking for 2 1/2 hours about his hunt, how he is feeling and the great people at RT. He was moving around pretty good. He still had a little discomfort but seemed happy to be home. I was really happy to have met them and an looking foreward to the banquet and attending the hunt with him. They all are very thankful and greatful for everything everyone here has done for them. After sharing a hunting camp with Steve Beilgard last December I even gave him a heads up on what kind of a character he is dealing with I really enjoyed my time with them this afternoon. I just thought I'd give you all an update.
  9. Re: Archery Antelope Tag Arrived I agree the waiting game is equally as tough as the points game. I hate both. I am usually about ready to have a break down by the time I'm done figuring what tag's I'm likely to pull, which one will be just another point, how many years to draw what tag, and then wait on the most likely. LOL congrats on holding one tag already.
  10. Re: How to Call the Police! LOL That was good
  11. Re: Dakota\'s gun package...I may be pushing it now Bowtech steve and stevebeilgard are right. Thats little stuff we can worry about later on. Ya never know the unique nature of the gun might make it more special to him.
