  2. Re: 7mm Rem Mag load for Blackbuck and Fallow Deer? All of those species are light and thin skinned animals. I have taken several axis and texas dall's with the 140 gr nosler bullets from my 7mm wby mag. I have 3 of them mounted. Even if there is a hole, any taxidermist worth his salt can fix that. Good luck.
  3. Re: This is Jarrett again Your family is in our thoughts and prayers

  9. Re: realtree or advantage I use Advantage Max1 a little now, but I still find it hard to quit Kings Desert or Mountain Shadow, and ASAT as far as a western big game camo.
  10. Re: WY to have Internet apps in 2007 Bob Thats ok the more that pull out the better the drawing odds are for me lol
  11. Re: WY to have Internet apps in 2007 [ QUOTE ] Internet Apps are a great idea. The only problem I hae with them is they make you fill them out correctly. I count on a % of apps to be thrown out cause someone can't follow directions... LOL [/ QUOTE ] Thats ok. It will up the drawing odds for those of us that can do it correctly. I need all the help I can get in getting a 101 or 102 wyoming muley tag.
  12. Re: mule deer hunting [ QUOTE ] Not sure where you wanna go but you might call the Jicarilla Apache Nation in Dulce NM and ask about their mulie tags. I think they have 250 tags per yr available. Thery also raffle off some tags for 50.00. Bucks can run to 42" wide. I worked in the area and can confirm 30"+ plus bucks. Not sure about outfitters though. Good luck and welcome to the West. [/ QUOTE ] I beliegve the indians down there do the guiding them selfs. The tags aren't cheap though but few quality muley ares that easy to get in are. Watch the cycle out there. The hunt the bucks down to nothing anf then cut back to almost no tags for a while. Seems like every so often they do that. I hunted out there with a friend of mine from texas twice. I have taken 2 bucks that will just blow your mind off of there. The Kaibab is good, Utah is ok, sw Wyoming is good. You might want to also look into Sonora, British Columbia, and Alberta. Easy to get tags usually means less than trophy bucks when it comes to muleys. Might not be a bad idea eiher to start buying points as well.
  13. Re: New deer rifle Thats the same rifle I donated to Dakota for his bennefit. They are nice guns built by savage and are a much better economy line that the remington 710 IMHO
  14. Re: Nicest looking factory rifle Dakota is nice, So is weatherby. Some of the older Remington rifles (pre BDL ADL, and the BDL are nice guns)
  15. Re: BLACKHILLS ???? The lighting ceremony that mount Rushmore has at dusk is amazing. If you'll be there for the 4th the fireworks display is great as well.
  16. Re: Bill Gates and GM lol
  17. Re: South Dakota-Rapid City area Don't forget to go to the cosmos. Wind cave is cool, the needles are a great drive. Crazy Horse is near by. Deadwood is always fun to walk through as well as keystone. Bear Country is alright, reptile gardens is cool. Every hotel and restaurant out there has a thousand brochures for a thousand different tourist attractions. I take them forgranted because I live there, but some folks thin the badlands are cool as well. Hot springs has the Mamoth site where they are digging up all the old fossils, and the hot springs is a cool place for a swim as well. As Steve B said Devils Tower is close by and is a sight to see as well. Hill City has the 1880 train that is fun. There is enough stuff to keep an out of towner buisy for 8 days with no problems out there. Dont forget to have them ride through Spearfish Canyon too. That is so beautiful , especially in the fall. Griz I used to Rodeo with a few guys from Highmore.
  18. Re: Maine Moose Permits I'm waiting to see what happens tonight. I have a buddy in Houlton that always gets the paper at 3:30am and calls me with the results.

  23. Re: Country Fever Starts Tonight.... Sounds like a good time. This is what we have and go to around here. http://www.windmillenterprises.net/windmillfestival/windmillfestival.htm
  24. Re: WALMART not selling guns??? I saw a press release a few months ago about this and as stated above the top 1000 stores will be the only ones selling firearms. I don't see this as a big deal though because you can still buy them from a local gun shop. All I can say is keep the republicans in control or we are all screwed.
