  2. Re: I just bought this. Insulated container with heat and A/C window if we are lucky, yep thats what we stay in, in a oilfield.
  3. Re: College or Highschool? WTG! You picked a great school. I'm an aggie too. Graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering about 7 years ago. Gig 'em Aggies. I sometimes miss my days of running wild through the streets of College station. My wife and I met there, so we have a special love for A&M.[ QUOTE ] I move off to college this weekend to get ready to tart my freshmen year at Texas A&M and get a degree in wildlife and fisheries management [/ QUOTE ]
  4. Re: Hooray for the state of Wyoming IMO the idiots should never have reintroduced wolves anyway. Look at whats happening in Yellowstone. The elk herd is aging with not alot of age dispersion. I saw a story about it on another western big game forum but can't find that now. Wolves are to blame for that among a host of other issues. They say that hunting can't take place on part of their range it has to be all or none? I got to kill a wolf on a Canadian Moose hunt a few years ago.
  5. Unfortunately I didn't punch a tag on this big boy but here is the AZ governors tag buck. Cant wait to see what Doyle Moss guides the Utah governors tag holder too as well. http://wassonhuntingservices.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=11632#11632
  6. Win or lose, I like seeing the state standing up to eddie bangs and the feds. Wyoming notifies feds of intent to sue over wolf management By BEN NEARY Associated Press CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- The state of Wyoming has filed notice that it intends to sue the federal government over both last month's rejection of the state's wolf management plan and federal inaction on the state's request for changes in wolf management regulations. "So far, their position has been their way or the highway," Gov. Dave Freudenthal said Wednesday of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. "We've chosen neither; we're going to court." Last month, the federal government rejected Wyoming's petition to remove wolves in the state from the federal list of threatened and endangered species. In addition, the federal agency has yet to take action on the state's request to amend regulations. Wyoming has proposed a wolf management plan that generally calls for leaving the animals alone in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks while allowing trophy hunting for them in areas outside the parks. The state has also proposed allowing them to be shot on sight as predators elsewhere in the state. In addition to their preying on livestock, Freudenthal has said he sees the spread of wolves in Wyoming outside the national parks as a public safety concern. "It seems to me that we have a plan that satisfies the scientific obligation that they have imposed on us," Freudenthal said. In rejecting Wyoming's proposal, federal officials said last month that they can't remove protections until the state sets firm limits on how many of the animals can be killed and agrees to minimum population figures. The state is now home to an estimated 252 wolves. Ed Bangs, coordinator of the Fish and Wildlife Service's gray wolf recovery effort in Helena, Mont., said Wednesday he hadn't heard of Wyoming's formal notice that it would sue the federal government over wolf management. But Bangs said it was no surprise. "They said they would pursue this thing in court, not matter how long it took," Bangs said. "I had hoped we could work out something more productive than litigation." The Fish and Wildlife Service has already turned management of wolves over to state agencies in Montana and Idaho. Bangs said that about 400 wolves have been killed in those states for preying on livestock and for other reasons since 1987. "They're continuing to kill wolves that are chronic problem animals," Bangs said, adding that his agency doesn't intend to leave Wyoming ranchers facing problem animals on their own. Bangs said the federal government continues to manage wolves in Wyoming outside the national parks and said 106 have been killed since the reintroduction of the species. Last year alone, he said 41 wolves were killed in the state. "Those wolves killed last year 54 cattle and 27 sheep, confirmed, and one dog," he said.
  7. Re: Whats for lunch? Steak and cheese sandwich with extra onions and some sort of soft drink.
  8. Re: Bullet of the week?? Thats a great bullet to start with reloader
  9. Re: YES - son and I drew our antelope tags! Congrats on the stinkey speed goat tag. They are fun to hunt til ya shoot one. Good luck on the hunt and have a great time with the boy.
  10. Re: Binoculars For that price your options are really limited. I'd look to Nikon, Bushnell, or Buris. Steve Beilgard told me my Burris glasseswere junk last year and sold me on some new ones. I bought Swaro's and don't regret it one bit. I actually believe I have better glasses than his Zeiss binocs.
  11. Re: Scoring Estimates?? *pics* They are all less than the 170 B&C min and less than the 125 P&Y min, so it souldn't make much difference. 75 95 110 70
  12. Re: The New Max-1 Camo [ QUOTE ] it's a great pattern for the west. i got a set last year, and it's perfect [/ QUOTE ] Steve B and I talked about it on a Nebraska hunt last fall. I thought we decided the color was a touch off for the sage. It is a good pattern though. I think it's about time a mainstream camo maker made a camo for those of us western big game hunters. Before that Kings outdoor world was King of this dept. They have a desert shawdow and a mountain shadow that are still awesome. We also has ASAT til the whitetail hunters discovered it. All good patterns for the west from the west. Mossy oak now has a brush camo too that will fill this bill.

    My Old Lady/Man

Re: My Old Lady/Man My wife and I both have a good sence of humor. I commonly refer to her as "Hitler", or "the warden" (as in a prision warden). We are still happily married so I guess she hasn't gotten too upset.
  14. Re: Why Arent We Making Our Own Oil? There have to be more than two refinerys in use. As I am now working as a mud engineer again I have been going offshore some. Lake Charles La has one in operation, so does Texas cCty Tx. Port Arthur Tx has another one. There are three that I have seen in operation with in the last 6 weeks.
  15. Re: College Football Preseason Coaches Poll LSU? Geaux Tigers. LOL I'm really torn right now. I am Aggie Alumni and I now live in the Cornhusker nation? I have always loved the big 12 especially when Texas gets beat.
  16. Re: How old is everybody in here [ QUOTE ] Im 18 will be 19 in October, and i'm fixing to start my freshmen year at Texas A&M University [/ QUOTE ] Gig 'em Aggies! WTG on the school. I am A&M alumni. I got a degree in Pertoleum engineering from them. BTW when you graduate I want to be there when you dunk your ring. I did mine in 5.32 seconds! Anyway enough about that. Learn to love Pat Green, Charlie Robinson, and Bruce Robinson because they are all big Aggie supporters and preform there alot. Anyway seeing that post took me back to my younger days of running wild through the streets of College Station Texas. BTW I guess since I postd here I tell ya my age. I'm 24.

  19. Re: coyote hunting alone A rotting dog won't keep others out. I dug a hole last winter and burried a few yotes that had the mange and I'll be darned if something didn't try to dig 'em back up.
  20. Re: gloves? I never wear gloves. I watched a guy us them once and had to go pick his darn bloody gloves up off of my land. That was also the last time I let anyone go in on my ground and retrieve game that was shot someplace else. I found that disrespectful.

    Billy Graham

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver. "You know" he said, "I am 87 years old and I have never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?" The driver said, "No problem. Have at it." Billy gets into the driver's seat and they head off down the highway. A short distance away sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap. The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone. The trooper pulled out and easily caught the limo and he got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure. The young trooper walked up to the driver's door and when the glass was rolled down, he was surprised to see who was driving. He immediately excused himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor. He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law...but I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person." The supervisor asked, "Is it the governor?" The young trooper said, "No, he's more important than that." The supervisor said, "Oh, so it's the president." The young trooper said, "No, he's even more important than that." The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?" The young trooper said, "I think it's Jesus, because he's got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!"
  22. Re: Update on Dakota I left him a message the other day and still haven't got a return call. What did you bribe him with Steve? lol
  23. Re: coyote hunting alone I have a mechanical decoy I bought from the same company that made one of the CD's I use out there. Sell 'em when you shoot 'em. As your profile is incomplete I don't know where your from but through out the northern half of North America fur buyers come to areas on a weekly or biweekly basis
  24. Re: jfike19- The creator of the Realtree \"moron\" some peoples kids do the darndest things.
  25. Re: which scope Told ya on another forum (BT) that nobody would recomend tasco. I am wondering what you plan to shoot at 500 yards. I live in Western SD and have hunted nebraska, SD and Wyoming all my life. I have only seen one shot over 400 taken by a hunter. Shooting those distances at game animals is a little on the irresponsible side and I believe very few hunters are capable of those shots with a production gun. Either way if you are a bench rest shooter or a long range hunter why would you want to buy that low end stuff. I wouldn't use anything but Zeiss or Leupold on my rifles. I don't want to take any chances on a once in a lifetime shot.
