Re: Deer doggin I just believe that the owner should be accountable for their dogs. If your dog tresspasses you should darn sure be holding a ticket at the end of the day. I have no intentions of starting a fight but I paid some hard earned money for that hunt at Tara last year and to have it messes up more than once by lazy irrisponsible people with some dogs really put a bad impression on me. I just can't look at it as acceptable after that. I have heard countless similar tales as well which leaves me to believe that many people must thinks it's ok for their dogs to cross property lines therefore angering me about their lack of ethics.

Re: Red Dirt Country Music Jason Boland, Robert Earl Keen, Kinky Friedman, Pat Greene, CCR, Charlie and Bruce Robinson among others are great. I'm not sure if thats what your talking about but Texas country is not nearly as mainstream and much better tunes. I don't get my hands on as much of it as I used to but when I went to school at Texas A&M (yes I was an aggie for a while) and when I worked offshore I listened to alot of it and really enjoyed it.

Re: Deer doggin [ QUOTE ] I have that problem with coonhunters rifleman. They let the dogs go to far and sometimes end up on our property...most of the time they run the river bottoms, which happens to be where I hunt most of the time. So my deer get jumped at night and needless to say don't show in the morning time. [/ QUOTE ] Thats no better. I believe that the owners should be responsible for their dogs. That means tresspassing as well. If the dogs cross the line the owner should be fined. I think things like that would go along way to keep them inline.

Re: Deer doggin I was hunting at Tara in MS as year ago in January. Some dink's dogs ran by my stand 2 days in a row messing up my hunt. I know the dogs don't know property lines but the owner shouldn't have been hunting them if he didn't have enough land. I can say that if I had a gun instead of a bow there would have been a few dead dogs. That is just uncalled for. I know the guides down there at Tara were looking for the guys but I don't know if they ever found him or not. I didn't pay that kind of money to have a pack of dogs mess up my hunt. I'm sure under the right conditions it can be enjoyable to some. This just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Re: Couple of Eyes Looks like a nice little fish fre there. Good Job? Did they come from Spirit lake?

Re: box blind on wheels Zachmeier MFG of Mandan ND makes a similar product I have used for years. They make some fine fish houses as well.

Re: Hog Dog? Any tracking hound ( rabbit, coon, and squirrel dogs) will bay a hog. You'll never be far behind anyway. Curs seem to be very popular in the areas I have hog hunted.

Re: I just don\'t get it I have noticed this lately as well. I really dont care if it's head is up or down when it's shot. I think it makes these guys on t.v look like fools actually. Show us the animal up close when it's dead of you want to show us. As far as should you be doing this yourself? I'd say no. Why would you risk spooking an animal so it's head is up and looking at you when you shoot.

Re: HOW MANY HUNTERS IN HERE USE 3 1/2\" SHELLS ? I put away my 10 ga and use the 3 1/2's now for pass shooting geese on the bluffs here. I'll use 3 inches hunting honkers over decoys in the fields. I like BB and BBB for any and all my honker huntin -
Re: Walleye! Looks like a decent fish fry there. Nice to get after 'em before the black flies abd bulldogs get real bad up there.

Re: New Gun! You made a great purchase. Your kids will get many great years of use from it. You picked a great caliber as well.

Re: how much are sheds worth? After 5 years of hard shed huntin' I decided to seel mine this year. I had about 1000 square feet of space in my quanset occupied by nothing but sheds in a pile. I had a friend of mine take mine when he went to sell the sheds from his elk farm. I got between 6 and 9 dollard a pound. I was happy with the sale. I'm planning on starting another similar pile and doing the same thing again in a year or two.

Re: Texas gun hunt [ QUOTE ] IF someone knows of a ranch I can kill a 150" buck for $3500 or less, please let me know. I've been twice to Texas, going back next year but I've never seen anywhere I could do that but one place and it had to be an 8 or 9pt. Chances of that is slim. [/ QUOTE ] I have hunted many, many times with Rick and Ekaine McDowell of Miami Texas. They own and operate Top Hand Hunts and do a wonderful job. I want to say the price for a 150 or better is like 2k-2500 The number is 806-868-2671

Re: I like...............PIKE!!! Nice fish. I have spent many days on Tobin and in the Grass River provincial park in Manitoba. How bad were the bugs? I hate fighting the black flies and bull dogs to fish.

Re: Buffalo We have a buffalo farm near us. I trade a half of one of my home raised beef for a half of his buffalo every year. This is the third year we have done it. Sure is some good eating.

Re: BBQ Season Starts This Weekend.. Pork is tough to beat off the pit, thats for sure. I cook on my pit all year though. Just because it gets cold here in dakota doesn't mean my desire for good food has to hibernate.

Re: Colorado Elk Results are posted! There are 4th season tags available yet in my unit. That is normal. I have held a few of them by just buying a left over. I'm not that big of a fan of hunting in that deep of snow though so I'll take my chances in the second or third seasons. Congrats on the cow tag. Good luck on the hunt.
