Re: Jackbutt 2
I know it is going to be the dumbest thing since the first one. I may see it when the dvd comes out, that is if I dont have to pay for it. I just cant see myself spending the money to go watch it.
Re: Any little tips or tricks we can offer new hun
just thought of another good one. always take some toilet paper a long, because you never know. And also I like to keep a single sheet tucked inside of the fold in my hat. just tear a piece off and drop it. this gives you your wind direction.
Re: Any little tips or tricks we can offer new hun
It is easier for a deer to see you than it is for you to see it. It could be standing still in the thick brush down the hill, so always move slow and before you decide to stand up or sit down check the area around you. Fast movement will almost always catch the eye of a deer.
Re: buck snort gel
Well I used it and didnt see any results. The only thing that came to it was a yellow jacket. I did see a doe that morning but she didnt seem to notice the scent. It did get her to come it some with my grunt call but she caught wind of me. So i guess using it as a cover scent is out of the question.
Re: Who\'s holding out....
I am hunting for some meat right now. I know where some does are at and plan on taking one tomorrow or tuesday. But after that I will be going after some horn.
Anyone ever used it? I have some that a friend left here last year. It is wild persimmon scent. I have never used it but figure what the hay might as well see if it works.
Ok this morning I had a chance to kill a doe. Thing is she had a fawn with her. I have been told it would have been ok without her but I still would have not felt right killing its mother. I want to now if given the chance would you have shot at the doe or passed? And how would you know if the fawn would survive?
Re: Just One Single Question:
Call me old fashion then. I love my girlfriend with all my heart and plan on getting married next summer. She already has a ring, and we sort of live together now, but I want it to be the real deal.
I just sat out a 50# salt block today. How long should I wait to hunt over it? It started to rain after I came off the hill and is going to keep it up till early morning. Then a cold front is moving in. Temp will be 42 come mid week.
I posted these pictures today in bowhunting but didnt get to much response so maybe I will hear something here. Where would be the best place to hunt on this land?
white line= uncles land
red=dads house
green= garden w/ dog
blue=pond
yellow= 4-wheeler trail
orange= deer trails i have seen
black= bedding area- real thick found two beds-
light blue= oaks/ acorns everywhere [image][/image]
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>>
I will shoot the night before a hunt. And if I ride a four wheeler I will shoot when I get back so I can make sure my sights didnt get knocked. Also if i miss a deer when I get back home/camp I will shoot and shoot and shoot, just to make sure it was me and not the bow.
This is my uncles land that I have hunted a few time but without success. After reading the article about going in deep I decided to give it another try. But this time on the other side of the hollow. The side nobody hunts. I have took a walk on it today and seen some tracks. Only a few buck tracks. But the land looks great. Take a look and tell me what you think.
red= dads house
blue= pond
yellow=four wheeler trails
green=garden w/ dog tied up in it
white= uncles land

Just for kicks we should have a beard contest. Lets see who can go the longest without shaving their beard off. And lets also see who can grow the best beard. We can set a date and then vote on who's beard is best. Any takers?
Re: Bow Hunting Dilema
Sound like you might have to take the long way around. Or just walk slow and calm. You might spook the deer but as long as you dont put any pressure on them I dont see why they would come back. Of course I wouldn't make a habbit of walking past them either. Once or twice IMO shouldn't send them running off never to be seen again.

I would at least have salvaged the head.

Around here someone would have already cut the head off and claimed they shot it.

Re: Myspace addicts?
I never have liked myspace. It seems like everyone talks about it all the time now. What I really dont get is the new myspace mobile. But I am sad to say I do have an account, but never used it.
