Thanksgiving morning i was running late and didnt really expect to see much. I had my girlfriend dropped me off and i told her pick me up in a half hour cause ill have a deer jokingly. so i walk toward my stand and i walk through the woods 100 yards get into the field. I look to my left and there he was about 100 yards outs i pick my gun up find him and squeeze. He dropped on the spot. I was like no way did that just happen lol. I call my girlfriend and said come get me i shot a big buck. She thought i was joking until she came out and saw him. This is my 2nd year shooting a buck on thanksgiving morning and my first big buck. Im proud of him. Hes a dandy 8 point with a 17.5 inch spread. I waited for one like him all year.

Friday i went out and brought my girlfriend with me. She spotted this doe and i wasnt going to to shoot it but when it came in to about 8 yards and she had the camera rolling. i took the shot and she went down in about 30 yards and all on film. A very good hunting expierience for my girlfriend considering it was her first time deer hunting with me. I will try to get the video on soon.

I went out yesterday and i brought the rattle bag with me which i never used. So i tried using them for the first time and 2 minutes after i stopped had a 4 pointer walk in. I just hit them together for 40 seconds or so lightly. Then i waited 1 minute and hit them kinda hard for about 3 minutes. I was wondering what is the best way to use rattle horn or bag. Also when to use it? I tried again today to use it a couple times and i got nothing no response.

That is unfortunate. See one thing i always say is if there is any problem with an arrow get rid of it. I had my first arrow that didnt completely break the other day and it was just a little fray. I broke it in half and threw it out so no one can use it just because of that. Its not worth it to shoot a broken 6 or even 20 dollar arrow for that crap. Id rather spend the money for a new one over that. My friend was saying how he was going to re-shoot his arrows that are messed up and i told him that he is a complete idiot. Not to disrespect him, but to try to tell him to stop shooting it so this wouldnt happen. -
smoked one tonight with a rage 2 blade..big buck

that is an insanely awesome buck i wonder what the on the hoof weight is. what a bruiser -
congrats kid awesome shot too. There isnt anything like tagging your first deer, but to tag your first one with a bow thats a good feeling and there will be many many more deer for you in the future. good luck

I also hunt in the east for coyotes. I been hunting them for 3 years going on 4. No luck yet but this year i think i will accomplish the hunt. Mostly because of reading. The best way is to read and ask questions on the forums. I really would like to buy a foxpro e-caller. I read that you do need a bunch of diffrent calls because coyotes are very smart and learn your calls. If they bust you on a setup you best kiss that setup goodbye, but with a foxpro caller you have multiple options on calls. The more hunting space you have the better you are. The best way to learn would be to get out and hunt them alot. Like anything you hunt, expierience is key.Check out Randy Anderson videos "calling all coyotes" and some of his mouth calls because he gives you instructional dvds. The calls are easy too. Good luck to all predator hunters.

yea he crashed a 79 million dollar space shuttle into the moon to find water. why couldnt he do it after deer season just incase it does mess the deer up with phaseing and stuff

well personally i believe finding bedding and food sources is a good spot to start, but where do you start to find the spots? What time of year do you look for what types of foods? Like acorns they eat when? after crops like clover and alfalpha are done producing or do they go for it all whenever they see it. I am glad to see so many responses on this thread because so many people can learn from it and I greatly appreciate the advice given here. This is the reason why i love realtree forums. its been popular with me for 3 years now

What are the main parts of scouting deer? I have been hunting for 5 years now and I would like to get into scouting for particular deer. How do you find feeding places and bedding places? How do you learn patterns of particular deer? What signs do you look for to set stands? I would really like to become successful at scouting and get the deer that im after but i dont really know much about scouting. Thank you for the help

I was just wondering how you set up for fall turkey? I never really hunted fall turkey too much mostly just spring. Do turkeys change there roosting spots or use the same exact trees or do they have diffrent roosting spots? Do you call alot or at all? Do you use decoys or not? Just wondering Any info would help. I went out twice this year and didnt hear or see anything.

thats an idea. I heard that your allowed to have attractant but only a certain amount of ounces of it. so, i wonder if you try that if you can only have a certain amount of bacon grease in the can? But, im not positive on that.

Anyone here ever hunted the adirondacks? Im planning on going this weekend and never done it before. Any pointers on how you should set up or what to look for or methods to hunt?
-

Here in NY me and my buddy went out in this field we been hunting and could not get anything in. Well this week was a little better because i got 42 decoys i borrowed from my friend. If we had decoys prior we would of had some success. Not to bad for our 4th hunt for geese got 4 dead this year so far.

i found out today that the parts are going to be hard to find and 80 dollars for a bow that didnt cost that much. So, i believe its time to buy a new one that i been wanting.
