  1. Re: Experience with Montec broadheads? This is the first season I've use the Montecs. Haven't been out in the woods yet to see how they'll do on game, but in practice sessions, I get good arrow flight and feel they're a good choice. Get the sharpener too, if you haven't already. It does a good job getting the blades up to snuff.
  2. Re: String or loop? I switched to a loop. Mainly to prevent string damage from my release.
  3. Re: Checking in Deer? Check-in stations here. Some day I'd like to see some sort of telecheck system in place.
  4. Re: I can only shoot downward Don't worry about not knowing. Whether it's your first year or twentieth, you will always learn something new. I know I do.
  5. Re: first broadhead you used? I think it was a Satellite Titan 145 gr. broadhead. Like firing a shovel head off the bow. But I digress, I was really young and still had lots to learn. BTW does anyone sell a broadhead that heavy anymore?
  6. Re: Cabelas or bass pro shops I go with Cabelas 98% of the time, but if they don't have an item I want, I don't hesitate to hit up Bass Pro. I tell ya, when we get our Cabelas here in early Nov. I probably won't go anywhere else.
  7. Re: Homemade Brats and Italian Sausage!!!! One of these days I'll learn to make my own sausage, too. Right now I just grind up what I need for burger, and have the processor make my sausage. Hope to eliminate the middle man soon.

    Braces??

Re: Braces?? I had them when I was 10 yrs. old. I was one of the few that had them at such a young age (at the time).

    cold

Re: cold I can recall a couple of times hunting in -10 degree weather. Almost forgot my name before I could warm back up.
  10. Re: how do you like your steak? Medium rare
  11. Re: how many tags you get for hunting I can get two permits that allow the taking of either a buck or doe. NE also has some select areas which are antlerless-only permits (basically does) and can be used in any season (i.e. archery, firearm, muzzleloader). I can get as many of them as I want until they run out of permits.
  12. Re: 10 Pounds Of Beef Jerky!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! That's a lot of jerky. BTW this morning I ground up the last of my left over meat from last season-got about 12 lbs. of ground out of it. It won't be around long, tho.
  13. Re: Cabelas orders? In all my experiences ordering from them online, I've not had any problems. Didn't matter what time of year it was either. Always got things within the 3-6 day window.
  14. Re: dakota shot a.... Great job Dakota. Like others have said-got to see the pics! To Buckee-funniest thing I've seen in awhile.
  15. Re: Getting a touch too big !! Well, for me the extra "insulation" helps. But I'd like to get rid of it too. That's another story
  16. Re: Scored on the first night out That's a nice one for sure! What part of the state are you hunting?
  17. Re: 54deg. this morning! Our overnights are in the mid- to upper-50's. I'm gettin' the itch real bad, too.
  18. Re: Ceck out this Kitchen Thats great looking. My parents are in the middle of getting a new kitchen at their house, but it won't look near as cool your friend's LOL.
  19. Re: Getting a little better! $2.37 On my way home from work this morning I saw 2.39 at some stations.
  20. Re: Try this game 74.42 seconds
  21. Re: time 4 new bow [ QUOTE ] I personally have to shoot a bow to know if it is right for me or not ... it is 100% a feal thing with me ... it has to feal right ... I would never buy a bow online ... [/ QUOTE ]Advice everybody should use. With todays bows, you just can't assume one bow's draw lengths, etc. will translate to another. That and their prices should make a person want to know firsthand whether a bow fits them and if they like the feel of it. Good luck on your search.
  22. Re: Do you know where you will be? I'll probably do a little ground pounding and ambush some does early on. Then up the trees when some leaves start falling.
  23. Re: What Type / kind of things do you bring to eat? Granola bars, candy bars or home-made trail mix and water or Mt. Dew. Usually gets me thru the morning.

  25. Re: Online Hunting Licenses Nebraska sells all our permits online. Very convenient.
