Hey fly, I'd seen an ad for a place in Texas, I think you only pay $1 for the hog (or each), and only pay for food & lodging ($250-350). I'll get further info cause I was thinking of taking a trip to hog hunt. Also, what part of IL do you live in? I'm 4 miles off the IL/IN line, 50 miles south of Gary/Hammond, town of Kentland.

Pro-Hunter barrels are fluted and stocks have special finger grooves also. Don't know if there is any further differnce between Pro-hunter and regular Encores.

I think most of the new "muzzleloader scopes" only difference from regular rifle scopes is that they have additional marks for the different yardages. From what I've heard so far, Bushnell has came out with one (Trophy BP 3-9X40x with DOA) that's sounds good and not a bad price either (around $140).

Check gunsamerica.com, huntingnet.com, you can usaully find a good deal there. I bought a T/C Encore 50 cal, 209 magnum, thumbhole stock in Realtree & stainless for under $500= NIB.

I had a similar experience several years ago. Five year plan, so much a month. They sent an bill for the 1st 2 months, then it went about 3 I never got anything. Then I got a bill showing X-amount of dollars. I called and questioned what was going on and was told they no longer had that special, it was this amount. I explained that the agreement was XX for 6 months, they said it was but I failed to pay to the agreement, I said, I didn't get the form & envelope to send it in. I was told, you could have gone ahead and sent it without the form & envelope, SO, you have to pay THIS amount! NO, cancel the membership!! The problem is that Mr Bushman has hired a tele-marketing group to do membership drives, then they use wrongful tactics to make more money. I hope he realizes what it does for his name.

Just to get you back to point A, I have the Garmin Etrex, under $100. Have used it in Colorado elk hunt, Newfoundland Moose hunt, and fishing on lakes (relocating hot spots).

If you have pictures of the fawn, and have made a report to the CO, I'd take it a step further by just taking it to the prosecuting atty. Another thing for thought, the CO might be investigating it further, collecting names, etc, might give it 2 weeks to 30 days. OR, even trying to contacting him again, like you said, he's only one man in that area.

I stand with some of the others, NO, the first and foremost is to TRY to free the living one, IF, that is not feasible, either dispatch it & tag it and notify the Conservation Dept. or, just contact them and have them do it and use the tag for anyother day of hunting.

Boy ain't that the truth? With gas at $1.80/gal here, they're probably still making a big healthy profit!
