    OUT

    Have a great trip Norm.
  4. Wait until William leaves from his bowhunt up here and I'm sure I'll have a couple good ones to share!!
  5. I'm not so sure it's about losing focus on WHY we hunt as much as it is changing WHAT we hunt. With more and more people practicing QDM I think the focus has turned to bigger bucks. Years ago before QDM was so popular the big thing around here was, "did you get your buck?". That always seemed to make you a good hunter in everyone elses eyes. Many places are probably still like that. I personally don't dwell on score so much as "is it a good one for the wall." I won't shoot it if I'm not going to mount it. I am fortunate enough to HAVE that luxury where many people don't. I can alway shoot a doe. (or 10 LOL) So to answer your question, no, I don't think we are losing focus, I just think the focus has changed...
  6. Happy Birthday Vicki. I hope Ralph has something very special planned for you! LOL
  7. I can't see pics at work but, I got to agree with Strut!! Yuck!
  8. I started hunting in 1986. WI has had some pretty liberal limits on deer since I started hunting. They also allow "party" hunting (during gun season) which means as long as you are within yelling distance of another hunter in your party you can with his or her pemission fill their tags as well. My first year of hunting I shot 3 and I haven't slowed down since. I've killed 5 wallmounters in the last 8 years and it continues to get better every year. My dad always wanted me to kill "his deer" too so my numbers have skyrocketed to around 150. In the last 4 years I've killed 33. Last year I took a 15 year old out for the youth hunting and sat with him as he whacked his first buck and it was in full velvet in Oct. I haven't shaken that bad in years! LOL The adenalin that I felt was Awesome! I also took Charlie (doubleA) out last year for the Auction and enjoyed every second of it. I've had a blast last year sitting back and watching someone else doing the shooting. This year William is coming up for a week of bowhunting and I can't wait for him to get a chance at a big one. So, to answer your question, I've killed enough... I'm to the point in my hunting career that I'd rather share the blessings that I have had with someone who maybe hasn't had the chance to experience what I have. I get to enjoy the hunt just as much, if not more, through their eyes...

    Crossing the line

When I was looking for work I'd always ask what the starting wage was and tell them I would take the job for a few bucks less an hour and after a few months when i prove to be the man for the job, pay me what I'm worth. Maybe a bribe but, money talks. I saved him a few bucks and he gave me a job. A guys gotta eat! Good Luck!
  10. It was one of the only things I remember from art class. LOL Take any picture, and draw it. Then turn it upside down and draw it again, it is amazing how much better the upside down one will look.
  11. Happy Birthday bud! I hope you got 19 holes of golf in today!
  12. Looking good bud! As far as the eyes go, get a pic and turn both your pic and the pic you are looking at upside down. It is amazing how well it will work. Then you are just drawing shapes instead of eyes. Does that make sense?
  13. Happy Birthday Jeff! I hope you're having a great day!
