  3. I have your knife and your shirt. I'll get it in the mail to you. I have the video downloading as we speak!
  4. I guess I can post the other video now eh Charlie? I had a pretty good day Sunday, I whacked a doe by the big oak, one in the opening in the grass, and one on the edge of the foodplot along the woods. Mikes girlfriend sat in the afternoon with me and shot one along the pines to the right at about 100 yards.
  5. Other than a spine shot, how many of you actually know exactly where you hit the deer when shooting it with the bow? I'm not in any way trying to make an excuse for whoever it was that was celebrating before his quarry was dead, I don't agree with that either. However, I've been guilty of going bananas in the treestand after making a "not so good" shot and not knowing it until the tracking began...

  9. After having an exceptional season this year In the "Family, Friends and the Great Outdoors" department, I thought I'd bring this TTT. I made another friend for life this year with doubleA coming to WI to hunt with me. It just doesn't get any better...

Prayers sent for your gramdma and her family.
  12. Not sure what we've gotten out of this one for sure. We get the blowing and drifting crap... Looks like around 4-5" so far. You can have it, I want to move south for the winter!!
  13. I had a good year. No doubt deer numbers are down a bit from last year but, I can't say as if it "sucked". DoubleA killed a decent 10 pointer during gun season. We saw 7 different bucks on opening day. He also shot 3 doe. I ended up killing three doe yesterday and one while doubleA was here. We took 4 bucks, 9 doe off of 120 acres. Not a bad season, just not as good as in the past. Bottom line,.......It still beats going to work...
  14. Well, rifle season is done in WI. So I am officially retired until next season. I'm going to hang up the bow and clean the gun today. I ended up shooting 3 doe yesterday and one while doubleA was here. I had a great season and I hope the rest of you do as well.

  17. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the same place you left your knife.
  18. Well, today was Charlies last day of his hunt. We sat this morning until shortly after 10. We saw a little buck and about 7 doe. Not too bad for this late in the season. We decided to take a little break during midday and do a little sight seeing around my part of the country and stop home for a bowl or two of venison chili or as Charlie would call it, chili and beans. (that'll be a poll question later this week ) Anyways, we went out for the evening hunt and about 4 o'clock we had a little nubber come out and then a couple other fawns. Apparently mom is headed to my freezer. Then we saw 4 doe out in the neighbors field. Then, right before dark a nice 8 pointer came out about a hundred yards from the stand and went into the tall grass. We had a hard time seeing just how big he was. All we could get was a side view which BTW looked pretty good! I asked Charlie as he already had his Cross hairs on him if he could see how wide he was and he thought he was out to the ears. I said he could go ahead and take him as he was a little bigger than the one he had gotten but, he didn't pull the trigger. Charlie was very happy to have done as well as he had and said he didn't come up here to just kill deer but too experience a (very ) different way of hunting, and a different way of life. Guys, I can't tell you enough how much fun I have had with Charlie this week. It's been a long week and a tough hunt but, I loved every minute of it. Charlie again, thank you for buying this hunt as we know it went for a great cause. Also thank you for the great conversations and teaching me, a little more about life. I'll miss you when you leave and I'm sure my wife and kids will too. (especially Autumn ) Congrats on a successful hunt and I'm sure one day we'll do it again...
  19. LOL, I'm not sure how many of you remember this thread: http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78061 I didn't want to run a contest because Swampy would have gotten to see a banning so I did a little "survey" instead! Anyhow, William just seemed to be the "Biggest Loser"! I had such a great time bringing a kid out for a youth hunt, seeing the excitement in my buddy's eyes when he shot his great buck and now, having a great week with Charlie. Maybe I'm getting old but, I like to see someone else kill them probably more than killing them myself. William has been a great help to many of us here at RT and I think he deserves a great hunt. Thank you William for everything you do for these forums, and I'll see if I can grow a couple big ones for you to get a look at next fall.
  20. It was pretty obvious eh? Today Charlie went out to the land with my best friend Mike. Unfortunately I had to go back to work today. (I do however have the next couple off ) Charlie had sat in Mikes stand because Mike had seen two different 10 pointers the last couple days. Charlies morning started off with seeing a couple doe at about 8 AM. He passed on them as he was holding out for a buck. At 9 AM he was thinking he only had about 30 minutes before Mike had to leave when all of a sudden out of the corner of his eye he noticed movement behind him. He turned in his seat to see a nice buck and 3 doe running through the grass. Charlie picked up his gun and opened the window he closed, just minutes ago. Charlie took careful aim and squeezed the trigger. He called Mike and together they found the buck that dropped in it's tracks. It wasn't the biggest buck in the woods but, he earned it. It's been a tough week and some really long hours on stand. Congrats Charlie on a nice buck, you deseved it. This buck is actually the same one that is in the video we posted earlier in the week. Here's Charlies 2008 Wisconsin 10 Point buck.
