It took a long time for the Michigan DNR to coceed that cougars do exist in Michigan. Based upon what I've read they believe them to be escaped pets or released animals. Michigan Cougars FAQ

Yup - PCC. First year. I've already checked when she's done in the spring. May 7th won't work well! LOL If I get drawn for the early hunt that would be right around the last day of turkey hunt. Let's say I bag my bird with time to spare I might swing down to the Winchester Turkey Museum in SC but man, that'll be a tough one! May have to FedEx her home come spring!

Oh Andrea - you've never seen our Lake Michigan beaches then! Nothing prettier than dead alewifes and scumlines! :D Actually they're beautiful as well and you hardly see alewives anymore. Yes, my wife has already put in a request that she get to the ocean!

We're taking our oldest down to Pensacola for college starting the 28th. My wife's birthday is the 30th and this is a big trip for everyone. We're planning making it a week long trip - dropping my daughter off on the 31st and heading back to MI to arrive on the evening of the 3rd. I'm looking for suggetions to take in the experience - things to see/do along the way. Farthest south I've ever driven is Toledo (yeah, I'm a Yank that hasn't ventured much) so this is a big trip. I'm WIDE open for suggetions to make it more enjoyable/not just ROAD time. Thanks ahead of time!

Oh yeah! I am THERE! We won't have our draft results yet but from what I've been told less people put in for the draw than available tags. So... I should be all set. I'll start scouting seriously in about 3 weeks. October 2 is first day of season here! Can't wait!

Yup - it was a great show on the 12th. I didn't get out of work until 10:30p but my wife and I went down to the Lake Michigan beach for a couple of hours. Saw some GREAT meteorites! I'd say probably upto 1 ever 1.5 - 2 min. I read one article on it... they just about stop by the 15th and drop off dramatically staring on the 13th. If you haven't been out yet you'd have to have some patience to see many.
